Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. Casey Funeral Home in Henderson has charge. Mr. Campbell, the widower of Freddie Hurst Campbell, leaves two daughters, Winona Singleton of Atlanta and Joanne Grantham of Hornsby; a son, Hulon Campbell of Falkner, Miss., 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Brownsville -- James Alvin Burns, 61, construction worker for Julian Builders in Jackson, died Monday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar with burial in Walnut Ridge cemetery there. He was a member of Covington Church of God. Mr. Burns, the husband of Mary Aileen Burns for 22 years, also leaves five sons, James Alvin Burns Jr. of Alamo, Michael Burns of Covington, and Andy Burns, Zachary Burns and Cody Burns, all of Bells; four stepdaughters, Christy Humfleet of Hendersonville, Helen Stanley of Brownsville, Carol Ballinger of Alamo and Cheryl Keiper of Dayton, Texas; two stepsons, Gary Odell Curtis of Brownsville and Jerry Allen Curtis of Stanton; three sisters, Velma Lowrance of Bolivar, Evelyn Glass of Covington and Brenda Rogers of Brighton; two brothers, Paul Burns of Covington and Larry Burns of Stanton, 13 stepgrandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Lawrence, all of Drummonds, and Jesse Lawrence of Burlison; three sisters, Virginia Stafford of Burlison, Beulah Greer of Hernando, Miss., and Idora Westpaul of Tupelo, Miss.; four brothers, L.P. Lawrence and Arnold Lawrence, both of Burlison, John Lawrence of Camden and Gordon Lawrence of Brighton, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Covington -- Jerry L. Mashburn, 66, supervisor for Ralston Purina, died Tuesday at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. He was an Army veteran and a member of Solo Church of Christ. He leaves two daughters, Tracy Bryson of Covington and Connie Lou Anne Butorac of Laguna Beach, Calif.; a son, Greg Mashburn of Covington; a stepson, Paul Standridge; his mother, Lucille Mashburn White, and a sister, Patricia Gatlin, all of Covington, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Cook, the widow of Russell Robertson, leaves three daughters, Brenda Kail of Dyersburg, Beverly Freiger of Newbern and Dianne Kommer of Metropolis, Ill.; a son, James Russell Robertson Jr. of Gates, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Dyersburg -- William Hardy, 76, retired Navy chief petty officer after 30 years, died Monday at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dyersburg First United Methodist Church, where he was a 27-year member and a member of Outpost Sunday School Class, with burial in Fairview cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home has charge. He was a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, chairman of Dyer County Election Commission, a member of Hess Masonic Lodge, Disabled American Veterans and state commander of Tennessee 1976. Mr. Hardy, the husband of Faye Hardy, also leaves three sons, Mike Hardy of Jackson, Bill Hardy of Dyersburg and Steve Hardy of Belguim; three sisters, Estelle Phillips of Bruceville, Katie Harber of Tigrett and Ruby Harris of Hayti, Mo., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Dyersburg First United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
