John Mitchell 'Captain Morgan' Morgan, 48, of Arlington, salesman, died Thursday at his home. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Philip Episcopal Church. Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel has charge. Mr. Morgan, the husband of Denise Morgan, also leaves a sister, Kristina Citro of Newport Beach, Calif., and Mark Chism IV of Edmond, Okla. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Philip Episcopal Church.

Margaret Joy Murphy, 45, of Memphis, medical assistant, died Thursday at Methodist North Hospital. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill cemetery East. She attended South Tipton Assembly of God. She leaves her mother, Applona Sain of Memphis; two sisters, Vickie Sain Eddleman Cochran of Bartlett and Judy Sain Strauser of Millington, and three brothers, Benny D. Sain of Rosemark, Milton E. Sain of Bartlett and Jim E. Sain of Atoka. The family requests that any memorials be sent to South Tipton Assembly of God Africa Building Fund.

Frances Lyles Pegram, 84, of Bartlett, formerly of Senatobia, Miss., died Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia with burial in Bethesda cemetery there. She was a member of Ellendale Baptist Church. Mrs. Pegram, the widow of Charles H. Pegram, leaves three daughters, Judy Branstetter and Mitzi Kearns, both of Bartlett, and Pamela Rice of Whitehouse, Texas; a son, Charles H. Pegram Jr. of Holly Springs, Miss.; a sister, Eugenia May Lyles-Houston of Southaven, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Willie Burkle Poe, 85, of Memphis, retired from International Harvester, died Thursday at Methodist North Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill cemetery South. He was a member of Georgian Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Poe, the husband of Nell Poe, also leaves a daughter, Linda Pryor of Cleburne, Texas; two sons, Dan M. Poe of Southaven and James T. Poe of Bartlett, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Union Mission or Georgian Hills Baptist Church.

Olivia Harrington Rhodes, 82, of Memphis, formerly of Houston, Miss., retired from Houston Elementary School after 21 years, died Wednesday at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home in Houston with burial in Houston cemetery. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Pilot Club of Houston. Mrs. Rhodes, the widow of John Oren Rhodes Jr., leaves three sons, John Oren Rhodes III of Germantown, Larry A. Rhodes of Houma, La., and Bart H. Rhodes of Olive Branch; her mother, Juanice McCain of Blythe, Calif., nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to a church mission fund or Christian organization of the donor's choice.

Harold F. 'Ounie' Schroeppel, 84, of Memphis, manager for Humphries Mills and salesman for Bandag, died Thursday at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church after 83 years. Mr. Schroeppel, the husband of Billie Myer Schroeppel for 62 years, also leaves a daughter, Lida Carol Jones of Memphis; a son, Harold F. Schroeppel Jr. of Jonesboro, Ark.; a brother, Harry W. Schroeppel of Memphis, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Polk of Olive Branch; two sons, Willie Smith and Early H. Smith, both of Bolivar, Tenn.; seven sisters, Lizzie Robinson of Memphis, Dorothy Morrow of Bolivar, Lukie Hill of Canaan, Miss., Jennie Anderson of Jackson, Tenn., Fannie McCarley of Collierville, and Betty Rivers and Bernice Beard, both of Whiteville, and a brother, Eugene Williams of Memphis.

Paul Cesna VanVlack, 84, of Millington, retired electronics technician for the Navy, died Thursday at Methodist North Hospital. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Big Creek cemetery in Millington. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel has charge. He was a member of Millington York Rite Bodies, Military Officers Association, Fleet Reserve and the American Legion and a member and past master of Millington Lodge 671. Mr. VanVlack, the husband of Genalda Meadow VanVlack, also leaves two daughters, Paulette Stroud and Nancy Douglas, both of Millington; a brother, Earl VanVlack of Plant City, Fla., seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Priscilla Circle, PEO Chapter F, Good Earth Garden Club and Duration Club, former president of the Nineteenth Century Club and received the Memphis Kiwanis Club's first Woman of the Year award. Mrs. Wagner, the widow of Clinton J. Wagner, leaves four daughters, Beth Stevens of Mount Olive, Miss., Sue Ann Goodwin of Memphis, Judith Wagner Hanson of Columbus, Miss., and Clinton Garrison, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
