MEMPHIS - JOHANNA MARTHA BITTMAN DROTT, 93, of Upland, Pa., formerly of Memphis, writer, composer and piano and guitar teacher, died of heart failure Feb. 16 at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Calvary. Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel has charge. She was former president of the Greater Memphis Music Teachers Association. Mrs. Drott, the widow of Ernest Drott, leaves a daughter, Marianne Squyres of Upland, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Birthright of Memphis.

MEMPHIS - CARRIE M. DUNCAN, 62, of Memphis, teacher at White Station Elementary School, died of cancer Monday at Methodist Healthcare-Germantown. Services will be at noon Tuesday at Cummings Street Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. H. C. Jett Funeral Home in Collierville has charge. Mrs. Duncan, the wife of Harry Duncan Jr., also leaves a daughter, Cheronda P. Duncan of Memphis; three sisters, Ethel Mae Fields of Pasadena,  Calif., Sheryl Jones of Houston,  Texas, and Bobbie Jean McCraney of Minneapolis; two brothers, Leroy Daniels of Detroit and Patrick McCraney of Newellton, La., and two grandchildren.

MEMPHIS - JIM W. FLINT, 62, of Hernando, retired from the Navy and employee of FedEx, died of cancer Wednesday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. He was a  Vietnam War veteran. Mr. Flint, the husband of Martha W. Flint for 43 years, also leaves a daughter, Fay Nehring of Southaven; two sons, Wesley Flint of Olive Branch and Kenneth Flint of Memphis; his mother, Grace Flint of Hernando; three sisters, Louise Hardin of Tupelo, Miss., Elaine Vaughn of Horn Lake and Lou Williams of Walls, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.

MEMPHIS - ALBERT MASON FLOYD, 86, of Memphis, formerly of Selmer, Tenn., retired carpenter for Memphis City School System, former carpenter for Tennessee Valley Authority and former employee of General Motors, died of heart failure Wednesday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer with burial in Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville, Tenn. He was a member of Macon Road Church of Christ, Civilian Conservation Corps and Carpenters' Union 345. Mr. Floyd, the husband of Maggie Hill Floyd, also leaves three daughters, Anne Landers of Hernando, Faylene Bryant of Universal City,  Texas, and Linda Landis of Memphis, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

MEMPHIS - MATTIE JEANIE HIGHGATE, 95, of Colorado Springs,  Colo., formerly of Memphis, pharmaceutical clerk, died of heart failure Thursday in Colorado Springs. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. She leaves a sister, Maude Ferguson of Colorado Springs.

Mrs. Hill, the wife of Alex Hill, also leaves nine daughters, Cora Yarbrough, Marjorie Norfolk, Clarissa Williamson and Cassandra Alston, all of Covington, Cleothrie Vanderbilt and Celeste Hubbard, both of Mason, Tulesia Hill Montgomery of Atoka, Tenn., and Barbara Ealy and Sheron Brown, both of Martin, Tenn.; two sons, Alex Hill Jr. of Gary, Ind., and Sirica Hill of Memphis; her mother, Earner Teamer of Covington; two sisters, Eva K. French of Gary and Rosie M. Brown of Detroit; a brother, Les Teamer of Covington, 36 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cleaves Memorial CME Church in Oakland, where he was a steward board 2 member, with burial in McCulley Cemetery there. J. A. Lofties Funeral Home in Somerville has charge. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Johnson, the husband of Willie Agnes Brown Johnson, also leaves a brother, Virgil T. Johnson of Akron, Ohio.

MEMPHIS - THOMAS F. KEMP, 74, of Memphis, formerly of Cleveland, Miss., owner of Kemp Service Station for 32 years, died of heart failure Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with entombment in Forest Hill Mausoleum East. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 684 and a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Kemp, the husband of Dorothy Kemp, also leaves three daughters, Sharon Malone of Memphis, Lillie Crossland of Humphrey, Ark., and Donna Barnett of Gillett, Ark.; a brother, Henry Kemp of Hernando, and five grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Brain Tumor Foundation.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Munford (Tenn.) Funeral Home with burial in Morrison Cemetery in Brighton. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Marshall, the husband of Claire Jones Marshall, also leaves two daughters, Shirley Simer and Venita Ham, both of Memphis; a son, James Archie Marshall III of Bartlett; two sisters, Lotis Higgins of Brighton and Betty Burford of Baton Rouge, La.; four brothers, Sercy Marshall and Gene Marshall, both of Brighton, and Danny Marshall and Andrew Marshall, both of Memphis, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Whitehaven Presbyterian Church, an Army veteran and a coach and booster for Southaven Baseball Association. He leaves a daughter, Jessica E. Moran, and a son, John E. Moran, both of Southaven, and two sisters, Sarah Ellen Moran of Senatobia, Miss., and Patricia Grace Alfonso of Southaven. The family requests that memorials be sent to Southaven Baseball Association.

She leaves three daughters, Angie Mulder and Jennifer Stevens, both of Byhalia, and Heidi Stewart of Potts Camp, Miss.; two sons, Larry E. Luke of Lamar, Miss., and Peter Luke of Victoria, Miss.; two sisters, Irene Tosh of Vildo, Tenn., and Agnes Caviness of Hatchie Station, Tenn.; two brothers, Charlie Luke and Clifford Luke, both of Hatchie Station, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MEMPHIS - JACQUELINE A. NASH, 50, of Memphis, formerly of Chicago, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. The cause of death had not been determined pending an autopsy. She leaves her mother, Margaret Porter of Memphis; three sisters, J. Yvone Porter and LaVinda Wilson, both of Chicago, and Rita W. Riddle of Memphis, and a nephew who cared for her, Denmel Porter.

Services will be at noon today at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery East. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Obannon was the husband of Nancy Kincaid Obannon.

She leaves a daughter, Paulette Jones of Covington; a son, Gordon Powell of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five sisters, Ruby Kuykendall of Drummonds, Tenn., Shirley Max and Gail Chumley, both of Covington, Evelyn Klien of Memphis and Charlotte Richardson of Arlington,  Texas; two brothers, Walter McBride of Covington and Paul McBride of Portsmouth, R.I., 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was chapter president of B'Nai B'Rith Women and a member of the Anti-Defamation League. She leaves a sister, Bernice Wolman of Kopake, N.Y., and Boynton Beach, Fla., and a brother, Irving Spector of Memphis. The family requests that memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
