Darcus L. Dugger Harris, 73, of Memphis, day care teacher and 20-year employee of Goodwill Homes Community Service Agency, died Saturday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Mount Sinai Church with burial in Morning Star Church cemetery in Lake Cormorant. M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home Whitehaven Chapel has charge. She was a member of Simuel Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves two daughters, Linda Rayborn of Horn Lake and Brenda Dugger of Memphis; two sons, Larry Dugger of Tacoma, Wash., and Maurice Harris of Cookeville, Tenn.; two sisters, Florence Smith of Los Angeles and Hattie Dugger of Memphis; three brothers, Samuel Dugger and David Dugger, both of Memphis, and Allen Dugger of Germany, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Carl Earl Higgins, 48, of Memphis, died Monday at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southern Funeral Home with burial in New Park cemetery. He leaves his father, James Higgins of Memphis; two sisters, Flora Williams of Memphis and Patricia Rollins of Dimona, Israel, and three brothers, James Higgins, Terry Taaib-Din and Ervin Higgins, all of Memphis.

Lillie Ricks Jackson, 78, of Memphis, retired from Park Towers, died Friday at her home. Services will be at noon Saturday at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church with burial in New Park cemetery. N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a mother board member of New Mount Sinai Baptist Church. Mrs. Jackson, the wife of Willie Jackson, also leaves six daughters, Dorothy Echols, Pauline Johnson, Carolyn Jackson, Mamie Jackson and Margaret Jackson, all of Memphis, and Precious Williams of Chicago; four sons, Darnell Jackson, Jerry Jackson and Joe Lee Jackson, all of Memphis, and James Jackson of Detroit; a stepson, Johnny Young of Memphis; two brothers, Joe Ricks Jr. of Memphis and Willie Ricks of New Orleans, 22 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Garrett Johnson, 65, of Memphis, formerly of Crenshaw, Miss., retired hardwood floor mechanic, died Monday at Select Specialty Hospital. Mr. Johnson, the widower of Lois Johnson, leaves two daughters, Dorothy Whalen of Senatobia and Cynthia Church of Memphis; a son, Emmett Johnson Jr. of Olive Branch; a brother, Jack Johnson of Memphis, and nine grandchildren.

Ruth 'Denise' McDaniel, 52, of Millington, registered nurse, died Sunday at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. She was a member of Millington First Baptist Church. Mrs. McDaniel, the wife of Robert A. McDaniel, also leaves three daughters, Michelle Robinson of Collierville, Christy McLaughlin of Millington and Brandy Goolsby of Arlington; two sons, Brent Jones of Austin, Texas, and Bobby McDaniel of Atoka; four sisters, Theresa Greganti of Millington, and Charlotte Slovich, Cathy O'Brien and Janet Irwin, all of Maryland; two brothers, Kenneth Roberts of Memphis and Eddie Kuchta of Maryland, and nine grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
