Homer Edsel Walker, 77, of Timbo, Ark., formerly of Memphis, auto body repairman, died Monday in Mountain View, Ark. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Big Springs Baptist Church in Newnata with burial in Big Springs cemetery. Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View has charge. He was a World War II Army veteran, the recipient of a Victory medal and Army Occupation medal and a Baptist. Mr. Walker, the husband of Ouvia Nell Walker, also leaves a daughter, Debra Walker Elder of Wake Forest, N.C., and two granddaughters.

John Anderson Walker Jr., 71, of Memphis, retired truck driver for City of Memphis Park Commission, died Tuesday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at noon Saturday at New Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Cayce, Miss., with burial in the church cemetery there. Gillespie Funeral Home in Olive Branch has charge. He leaves four daughters, Carlene Jackson of Byhalia, Miss., Denise Walker of Memphis, Debra Epps of Miami and Delight Roberts of Atlanta; four sons, David Crutcher of Collierville, Marvus Walker of Atlanta, and John Walker III and Anthony Walker, both of Miami; two sisters, Rosie Green and Beatrice Johnson, both of Collierville, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Henry A. Waring, 77, of Memphis, retired electrical engineer for Kimberly-Clark, died Monday at his home. Mass will be said at 3 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he was a communicant. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. Mr. Waring, the husband of Beverly Waring, also leaves three daughters, Beth Waring Rushmore of Baltimore, Laurie Hahn of Burke, Va., and Margaret Synk of Memphis; four sons, William Brigance of Memphis, Joseph Waring of Hong Kong, David Waring of Seattle and Philip Waring of Milwaukee; two sisters, Elizabeth Waring Wilson and Martha Rogers Waring, and a brother, William S. Waring, all of Memphis, 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.

Rosie L. Whitehead, 58, of Memphis, computer operator for the Internal Revenue Service, died Monday at Graceland Nursing Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home Whitehaven Chapel with burial in New Park cemetery. She was a member of New Jackson Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves a daughter, Shundra Gibson; two sisters, Magnolia Scullark and Barbara Shorty, and a brother, James Shorty, all of Memphis, and two grandchildren.

Johnnie Williams, 96, of Memphis, retired self-employed contractor and grocery store owner, died Tuesday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at noon Saturday at Summerfield Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school superintendent and deacon board and trustee board member, with burial in New Park cemetery. Harrison's Funeral Home Orange Mound Chapel has charge. He was a member of NAACP and an activist in Dr. M.L. King's movement. Mr. Williams, the widower of Josephine Thomas Williams, leaves a daughter, Rev. Mary Jean Evans of Memphis, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Lillie Williams, 92, of Memphis, died Friday at her home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fredonia Missionary Baptist Church in Tunica, Miss., with burial in Fredonia cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home in Tunica has charge. She leaves a son, Oliver Bruce Williams of Memphis, and two grandchildren.

Mr. Eddy, the husband of Frances Ann Durkes Eddy, also leaves a sister, Debbie Eddy of Leavenworth, Kan., and three brothers, Walter Eddy and Larry Eddy, both of Leavenworth, and Bill Eddy of Missouri. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Atoka -- Robert Headden, 39, prototype machinist for Wright Medical, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton in Covington. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel with burial in Watson cemetery in Newport, Ark. He was a member of Brownsville Road Church of Christ and attended Brighton Church of Christ. Mr. Headden, the husband of Tonya Headden, also leaves two daughters, Selena Thompson and Summer Bradley, and a son, Braxton Thompson, all of Atoka; his mother, Lorraine Headden; a sister, Sherry Headden, and a brother, Jeff Headden, all of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center.

Finley -- J.C. Lee, 79, farmer, died Tuesday at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at J.W. Mr. Lee, the widower of Susie Clanton Lee, leaves two daughters, Celia Mancell of Buchanan and Mary Briggs of Grants Pass, Ore.; four sons, Huey Calvan of Greenwood, Ind., Lonni Calvan of Indianapolis, Arthur Lee of Chic and James Lee of Indianapolis; seven sisters, Sandra Ford, Charlotte Rhea, Berniece Turner, Sylvia Mae Bricker, Terry Mulinax and Bertha Tarr, all of Indianapolis, and Anna Faye Gray of Southport, Ind., 18 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Colonial Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Fraley cemetery in Corinth, Miss. She was a member of McWherter Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Cooksey, the widow of Wesley E. Cooksey, leaves two daughters, Teresa Cooksey of Colorado Springs and Patty Cooksey of Germantown, and two grandchildren.
