Covington -- William Thomas Easley, 70, automobile mechanic, died Monday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Covington Funeral Home with burial in Randolph cemetery. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He leaves a daughter, Jamie Easley; two sons, Billy Easley and James Easley, and his mother, Mary Lois Easley, all of Covington; three sisters, Judy Rogers and Mary Nell Cross, both of Covington, and Beddie Freeman of Sesser, Ill.; two brothers, Glynward Easley of Covington and Maurice Easley of Burlison, and a granddaughter.

Covington -- Oliver Jackson, 70, former employee of Wooten Truck & Tractor Co., died Friday at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Mason with burial in Salem cemetery there. Palmer Funeral Home in Mason has charge. He leaves a daughter, Linda Wynn, and a sister, Lou Anna Young, both of Covington, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dyersburg -- Johnny Gwyn Gamble, 56, former manager of A&P; and Big John's grocery stores, former insurance agent for American General and former office worker for Colonial Rubber, died Monday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with burial in Fairview cemetery. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. He leaves a daughter, Carrie Gamble; a son, John W. Gamble; his mother, Pearl Gamble; a sister, Louise Brasfield, and a brother, Jimmy Gamble, all of Dyersburg.

Pocahontas -- Carl L. Wardlow, 78, retired truck driver, died Saturday at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Miss. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer with burial in Bethel cemetery in Pocahontas. He was a member of Pocahontas Church of Christ and Scottish Rite and a 32nd degree Mason. Mr. Wardlow, the husband of Jean Boatman Wardlow, also leaves two sons, Johnny Carl Wardlow and Carlos Wardlow, both of Pocahontas; a sister, Bereniece Gordon of Memphis, and two grandchildren.

Ripley -- Wilma Louise Esra, 93, homemaker, died Sunday at her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garner Funeral Home with burial in Dry Hill cemetery. She was a member of Hutcherson Chapel Assembly of God. Mrs. Esra, the widow of Andrew Thomas Esra, leaves three daughters, Betty Esra Crihfield of Henning, and Dorothy Esra Connell and Bonnie Esra Burnham, both of Ripley; a son, Clifton Esra of Halls; a sister, Molly Proctor of Nixa, Mo., 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

Somerville -- Mary Elizabeth Harvey Billingsley, 67, homemaker, died Thursday at Methodist Fayette Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wray's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Patterson cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home in Mason has charge. Mrs. Billingsley, the wife of Cleo Billingsley, also leaves three sisters, Alice Mae Cooper of Somerville, Ethel Smith of Memphis and Emma T. Davis of Ripley, and a brother, Paul Harvey of Somerville.

WHITEVILLE -- Harriett Doxey Stewart, 92, formerly of Memphis, former employee of Whiteville Senior Citizens, Memphis Photo Supply and the old defense depot in Memphis, died Sunday in Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home in Somerville with burial in Crowder cemetery in Whiteville. She was a member of Whiteville United Methodist Church and a former volunteer for Arlington Developmental Center. She leaves a daughter, Gloria S. Ellard of Memphis; a son, Albert N. Stewart of North Hills, Calif., five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Whiteville United Methodist Church.

Melvin P. Arnold, 85, of Memphis, retired railroad worker, died Saturday at Methodist University Hospital. Mr. Arnold, the widower of Louise Coleman Arnold, leaves three daughters, Dorothy Jean of Illinois, Delores Coleman of Hawaii and Fannie Mae Barnes of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a brother, Timothy Arnold of Chicago, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John Leonard Carter, 79, of Memphis, retired salesman, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a Mason and a member of Whitehaven Veterans of Foreign Wars and New Prospect Baptist Church. He leaves a daughter, Tina Carter Blankinship of Hernando; two sons, David Franklin Carter of Olive Branch and Kim Stephen Carter of Knoxville; four sisters, Vivian Sides of Louisville, Ky., Nancy Spruce of Campbellton, Fla., Betty Chumney of Panama City, Fla., and Joyce Norman of Starke, Fla.; a brother, Paul Carter of Starke, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ferguson, the husband of Mildred Ferguson, also leaves two daughters, Lucretia Mae Sennett of Memphis and Brenda Joy Hajeb of Oak Forest, Ill.; a son, Harvey Lee Ferguson Jr. of Memphis, 13 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
