Kevin Tyrone McDuffy, 48, of Memphis, former salesman for Winfield & Stewart's Fashion, died Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Middle Baptist Church in Whitehaven, where he was a member, with burial in White's Chapel cemetery in Tunica, Miss. Harrison's Funeral Home Orange Mound Chapel has charge. He leaves a daughter, Jada Taylor of Hernando; a son, Kevin McDuffy Jr. of Memphis, and a half-brother, Walter Turner of Birmingham.

Theodo Roosevelt Nickelberry Jr., 73, of Memphis, retired crew chief for the City of Memphis, died Thursday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Douglas Baptist Church on Brookins, where he was a member, with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. Mr. Nickelberry, the husband of Irese Nickelberry, also leaves six daughters, Porchia Allen, Valerie Coleman, Angela Crowley, Brenda Hampton, Gladys Nickelberry and Ella J. Nickelberry, and three sons, Terry L. Ramsey, Roosevelt Nickelberry III and Wayne Carmichael, all of Memphis; two sisters, Ollie Mitchell of Memphis and Ophelia Nickelberry of Chicago; three brothers, Earl Nickelberry of Chicago, and Elmo Nickelberry and Nathaniel Nickelberry, both of Memphis, 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Catherine B. Poindexter, 67, of Memphis, retired teacher for Memphis City Schools, died Friday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Olivet Fellowship Baptist Church, where she a member of September Fellowship and Palma and former Birthmonth co-chair, with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. Harrison's Funeral Home Orange Mound Chapel has charge. She was a graduate of Parrish High School in Hazelhurst, Miss., Jackson State University and the University of Memphis. Mrs. Poindexter, the wife of George Poindexter of Detroit, also leaves a daughter, Juanetta Rountree, and two sons, George Poindexter Jr. and Daryl Glenn Poindexter, all of Memphis; three sisters, Opsy Lee Jenkins, Arnetta H. Higgins and Gwendolyn Hill, all of Detroit; three brothers, Charles G.S. Hill of Hazelhurst, James T. Hill of Jackson, Miss., and Glake A. Hill of Canton, Miss., six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to National Kidney Foundation or Lupus Foundation.

Bobbie W. Porter, 70, of Memphis, retired educator for Memphis City Schools, died Friday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James AME Church on North Fourth, where she was a member of the steward board and Laura Lemon Society-The Lay Organization, with burial in National cemetery. R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a graduate of Manassas High School, LeMoyne-Owen College and Memphis State University and a member of Delta Sigma Thea Sorority, Memphis Education Association and National Education Association. Mrs. Porter, the widow of Robert L. Porter, leaves two daughters, Susan Curry Brown of Memphis and Robin Porter of Houston; a sister, Arand W. Taylor, and two brothers, James N. Walker and Eugene A. Walker, all of Memphis, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Triplett of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mable Williams of Shaw, Miss., and Zeria Crump of Alabama; two brothers, Wilson Williams of Trotwood, Ohio, and J.W. Williams of Chicago, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smerz, the widow of Wilbert Smerz, leaves a stepdaughter, Terri Bauer of St. Louis, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
