Mr. Bond, the husband of Lorene Clark Bond, also leaves two daughters, Inell Young and Mary Bond; two sons, Thomas Bond and Derwin Bond, and his father and stepmother, M.C. and Minnie Bond, all of Brownsville; eight sisters, Martha Wade of Milwaukee, and Maxine Covington, Mildred Bond, Dorothy Bond, Addie Walker, Susie Taylor, Edna Taylor and Alma Patterson, all of Brownsville; six brothers, James Bond and M.C. Bond, both of Nashville, John A. Bond of Decatur, Ill., and Michael Walker, Charlie Walker Jr. and Cooper Walker, all of Brownsville, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wilkes, the husband of Rubbie Wilkes, also leaves a daughter, Carolyn Wilkes of Somerville; seven sons, Willie Wilkes, Ruben Wilkes and Tony Wilkes, all of Memphis, Reginald Wilkes, Antonio Wilkes and Anthony Wilkes, all of Moscow, and Wallace Wilkes of Somerville; two stepsons, Johnny E. Mason and Mackel Mason, and his mother, Irene Wilkes, all of Somerville; five sisters, Louise Whitaker, Annie Wilkes and Barbara Wilkes, all of Somerville, Jeannie Parker of Covington and Rochelle Wilkes of Nashville; a brother, Robert Wilkes of Somerville; five stepbrothers, Larry Wilkes of Somerville, Jasper Wilkes and Chester Wilkes, both of Covington, John Thomas Wilkes of Milwaukee and Jimmy Wilkes of Italy, and 24 grandchildren.

Carrie Lee Booker, 57, of Memphis, retired from Memphis Police Department, died Wednesday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Forest Hill cemetery Midtown. She leaves three daughters, Kim Downey and Artherline Lee Vaughn, both of Memphis, and Priscilla Lee of Chicago; three brothers, Curtis Lee, Vernon Lee and Cebron Lee, all of Memphis, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Walter Herbert Bowman, 64, of Memphis, retired laborer, died Tuesday at Overton Park Health Care Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home Whitehaven Chapel with burial Tuesday in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He was an Army veteran. He leaves two daughters, Phyllis Brown and Cheryl Bowman, and a son, Anthony Bowman, all of Memphis, 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

John D. Byers, 66, of Memphis, retired sales executive for Maybelline/Yardley, died Wednesday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Colonial Country Club and Southwind Country Club. Mr. Byers, the husband of Anne S. Byers, also leaves three daughters, Tracy Vickers and Tammy Byars, both of Birmingham, and Jennifer Raffo of Memphis; a son, John D. Byers Jr. of Phoenix, and five grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Bellevue Baptist Church.

Mildred Practher Cleaves, 61, of Memphis, retired home health aide, died Tuesday at Methodist University Hospital. She leaves two sisters, Dolly Mae Cleaves and Dorothy Delois Parker, both of Memphis.

Herman Elvin Cook Jr., 82, of Memphis, retired from Binswanger Glass, died Wednesday at Saint Francis Hospital. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran and a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Mr. Cook, the widower of Bessie Lola Cook, leaves a daughter, Connie Cook Doyle of Memphis; a son, Robert Bailey of Brighton, and nine grandchildren.

First Baptist Church, the first girls auxiliary director of the Southern Baptist Convention Women's Missionary Union and a former member of Cordova Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Kidd, the wife of S.E. Kidd Jr., also leaves two sons, Reiley Kidd of Seattle and Rodney Lee Kidd of Mannheim, Germany, seven grandchildren and a great-grandson. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Baptist International Mission Inc. or the International Mission Board Lottie Moon Christmas Offering or Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
