Funeral services for Mrs. Birdie Louise Caldwell, age 93, of Gardens Avenue, Hot Springs, AR, who passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004 in St. Joseph's Hospital, were conducted Friday, July 16, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Gay officiating. Burial followed in Prospect Cemetery. Mrs. Caldwell was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late Rufus & Etta Walker McDougal, a housewife and a member of the Central Baptist Church at Hot Springs, AR. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: John Baxter Caldwell. Survivors include 4 nieces: Denise Paradise of Salt Lake City, UT, Melba Tarbett of Knoxville, TN, Betty & Clyde Wilkes of Orlando, FL, Wilma Ruth Crevasse of Hot Springs, AR; 4 nephews: Bobby McDougal of Knoxville, TN, Donald McDougal of Orlando, FL, John Gunter of Jacksonville, FL, Charles Caldwell of Tampa, FL; 1 sister: Emma Parr of Jacksonville, FL; 1 brother: Thurston McDougal of Rosemeade, CA; great nieces & nephews: Dennis & Wonzor Wilkes, Scott & Debbie Mendezvigo, Phil & Connie Bassett, Lyle & leslie Beck, Joe & Katie Fanelli, Antonio & Ivey Romero, Angel & Mary Jackie Rodreguez. Visitation with the family was Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Florence Adair

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Adair, age 82, of Covington Ln., Winchester, VA, who passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004 in Hillcrest Nursing Home, were conducted Monday, July 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Stamps officiating. Burial followed in Stateline Cemetery. Mrs. Adair was a native of Fargo, ND, daughter of the late John Hanson & the late Bessie Leona Peterson Hanson, a food service worker for Agassiz Junior High School and a housewife, a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Adair was preceded in death by her husband: William Ernest Adair. Survivors include 1 son: John Adair of Winchester, VA; 4 grandchildren: Dennis, Brian, Melissa, Amanda; 1 sister: Elizabeth Thompson of Crookston, MN. Visitation with the family was held Monday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pauline 'Polly' Howard

Funeral services for Sister Pauline 'Polly' Howard, age 67, of Lincoln Loop, Flintville, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004 at her residence, were conducted Monday, August 2, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. James Holt & Sister Carol Holt officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Sister Howard was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late George Baxter Holt & Lillie Belle Gardner Holt, who survives. She was a pastor and a member of the Jesus Church of Plevna, AL. Along with her father, Sister Pauline was preceded in death by 1 sister: Frances Collier. She is survived by 4 children: Sherry Mize of Lawrenceburg, TN, Leonard Anthony Hillis of New Market, AL, Patsy Gautney of Fayetteville, TN, Patricha Garrett of Lynnville, TN; 7 grandchildren: Jeff Henderson, Lisa Mize, Michelle Bryant, Tony Hillis, ANgela Hillis, Adrian Gautney, Lucas Eslick, 10 great grandchildren; mother: Lillie Belle Holt; brothers: Charles Holt, James Holt, & Douglas Holt all of Flintville, TN. Visitation with the family was held Sunday evening from 2 until 7 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hattie M. Hazelwood Tucker

Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie M. Hazelwood Tucker, age 83, of Benson Circle, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004 at her residence, were conducted Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Don Russell officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Tucker was a native of Franklin County, TN, daughter of the late George Bradford & the late Audie Judge Bradford, an interior decorator and sole proprietor of Hattie's Interior Design, a long standing member of the Park City Baptist Church and for the remainder of her life, was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Larry Hazelwood in 1962 & Roy Tucker in 1994. Survivors include 2 sons: Tony Hazelwood of Roanoke, TX, Larry Hazelwood of Fayetteville, TN; sister: Gladys Neva of Gold Canyon, Arizona; George Ed Bradford of Bensonville, IL; 9 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Edna Beavers

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Beavers, age 94, of S. Lincoln Road, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004 in Lincoln Medical Center, were conducted Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Don Schultz officiating. Burial followed in Lincoln Cemetery. Mrs. Beavers was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late Johnnie Morgan Walker & the late Lona Simmons Walker, a housewife and a former member of the Lincoln Home Demonstration Club. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Gordon 'Doc' Beavers in 1999. Survivors include 1 son: Harold Beavers of the Lincoln community, 2 grandchildren: Pam Beavers Thomas of Belleville, TN, Tommy Beavers of Lynchburg, TN; 3 great grandchildren: Shea Beavers Logan of Lynchburg, TN, Josh Beavers of Lynchburg, TN, Travis Thomas of Belleville, TN; 1 great-great grandchild: Kinsley Logan of Lynchburg, TN; 1 sister: Elizabeth West of Huntsville, AL. Visitation with the family was held Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Jim Miller

Funeral services for Mr. Jim Miller, age 74, of Edgar Gooch Road, Hazel Green, AL, who passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Huntsville Hospital, were conducted Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Sister Faye Harwell & Bro. Denny Barkley. Burial followed in New Sharon Cemetery. Mr. Miller was a native of Franklin County, TN, son of the late Marshall Miller & the late Diane Morris Miller, a carpenter, a member of the NRA and an avid hunter. Along with his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by 1 son: Marshall Miller. Survivors include 2 daughters: Becky & Frank Johnson of Hazel Green, AL, Christine & Mack Hill of Fayetteville, TN; 4 grandsons: Scott Quick of Hazel Green, AL, Clay Quick of Fayetteville, TN, Kevin Miller, Taylor Miller both of Nashville, TN; 4 Granddaughters: Dawn Langford of Ozark, AL, Stephanie Buckelew of New Market, AL, Erica Elmore of Newville, AL, Cassie Miller of Nashville, TN; 3 great granddaughters: Kayla, Sami, & Lexi Langford; 1 brother: Jack Miller of Hazel Green, AL; 1 sister: Verdie Wilkinson of Stephenson, AL and several nieces & nephews. Visitation with the family was held Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Josephine Scott

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Scott, age 90, of Wilson Parkway, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004 in Lincoln Skill Care, were conducted Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Smith officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Scott was a native of Giles County, TN, daughter of the late T.A. Garrett & the late Nell Whitt Garrett, a waitress, and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband: Joe D. Scott in 1973. Survivors include 2 daughters: Faye Dugger of Fayetteville, TN, Janice Moore of Lewisburg, TN; 2 sons: James Clark 'Jimmy' Lawson of Arlington, VA, Clark Lawson of Culleoka, TN; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dorothy Gaskill

It is with regret that we announce the death of Mrs. Dorothy Gaskill, age 97, of Taft, TN, who passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004 in Sunbridge Care for Ardmore. Mrs. Galskill was a native of  Pennsylvania, daughter of the late David & Daisy Wenger, a caregiver and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Gaskill was preceded in death by her husband: Gordon Gaskill. Survivors include 2 daughters: Lorna Guiles of Taft, TN, Daisy Miller of Modesto, CA; 1 son: William Utter of Bellfast, TN; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. There are no services planned at this time. Gallant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robert 'Bob' Marty

Funeral services for Mr. Robert 'Bob' Marty, age 71, of Monroe Road, Meridianville, AL, who passed away Monday, August 15, 2004 at his residence, were conducted Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Langford officiating. Burial followed in Flintville Cemetery. Mr. Marty was a native of Lincoln County, TN, son of the late Warner Benny Marty & the late Emma Lou Winn Marty, an electrician and a member of the Flint River Baptist Church where he taught a Men's Sunday School Class. Along with his parents, Mr. Marty was preceded in death by his grandson: Jeremy Wilburn; son-in-law: Billy Duffey; Sisters: Gaynelle Halcomb & Onella Wells; brother: James marty. Survivors include his wife: Velma Marty; 3 daughters: Gail Counts of Flintville, TN, Melody Duffey of Ardmore, AL, Robbie & Kim Nunley of Hazel Green, AL; 1 son: Todd & Ruth Ann Marty of Meridianville, AL; 1 brother: Shelton Marty of Meridianville, AL; 1 sister: Doris Simms of Gary, Indiana; 6 grandchildren: Angie & Randall Stephens, Tammy & Jamie Quick, Dion Duffey, Sonya & Justin Martin, Melissa & Daniel Cheek & Tiffany Marty; 11 great grandchildren: Adrianna, Alisha, Kelsi, Levi, Bailey, Colton, Sebastian, Preston, Alyssa, Dekota & Austin. Visitation with the family was held Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Danny Ray Bryant

Funeral services for Mr. Danny Ray Bryant, age 32, of Oliver Smith Road, Flintville, TN, who passed away Sunday, August 22, 2004 in Lincoln Medical Center, were conducted Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Joe George officiating. Burial followed in Lincoln Cemetery. Mr. Bryant was a native of Lincoln County, TN, son of Kathy Taylor Bryant & the late Kenneth Ray Bryant, and a carpenter. Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ray Bryant on August 1, 1999. Survivors include his wife: Becky Bryant; son: Wesley Tanner Bryant; mother: Kathy Taylor Bryant, sister: Stacey Amos, & grandmother: Ada Taylor all of Flintville, TN. Visitation with the family was held Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruby H. Towry Mason

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby H. Towry Mason, age 90, of Depot St., New Market, AL, who passed away Friday, September 3, 2004 in Donalson Health Care, were conducted Monday, September 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Towry & Bill Towry officiating. Burial followed in Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Mason was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late Leonard Brown & the late Beulah Mae Copeland Brown, a cook for Elora School and a member of Flintville Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her husbands: Arthur Fulon Towry in 1953 & Charlie Mason in 1993. Survivors include 5 sons: Joe Davis Towry of Huntsville, AL, Wendell Wayne Towry of New Market, AL, Chester Arthur Towry of Erin, TN, William Bostick Towry of Nashville, TN & Randall Brown of New Market, AL; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Miss Sharon Payne

Funeral services for Miss Sharon Payne, age 46, of Haysland Road, Petersburg, TN, who passed away Sunday, September 5, 2004 in Sunbridge Health Care, were conducted Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Joe Parks officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Miss Payne was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of Catherine Pearl Gray Thompson & the late Calvin Leander Payne, and a convenience store clerk for J.J.'s Quik Stop. She is survived by her mother & step-father: Mr. & Mrs. John Thompson of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sisters: Teresa Franklin of Readyville, TN, Doris Holder of Kelso, TN; her companion: Donnie Colbert of Petersburg, TN; step-sister: Lorinda Scott of Morgantown, W.VA.; 4 step-brothers: John Thompson of Fayetteville, TN, Grady Thompson of Athens, AL, Marshall Thompson of Clearwater, FL, Darrell Thompson of San Francisco, CA; aunt: Flo Payne of New Hope, AL and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Cindy Luttrell, age 40, of McDougal Road, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, September 9, 2004 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center, were conducted Sunday, September 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Hill officiating. Burial followed in Gum Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Luttrell was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of Myrtle Lee Hill Luttrell Smith, who survives, & the late Gerald Dwain Luttrell. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Shockley was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of Wyndell & Ruth Goatz, who survive, a material stocker, a member of the North Side Church of Christ and she enjoyed softball & horseback riding.
