James A. Young, 65, of Memphis, retired from the Air Force, died Friday at Methodist University Hospital. Memorial services were Tuesday at Central Church of Collierville. Family Funeral Care had charge. He leaves a daughter, Kim E. Hernandez of Oviedo, Fla.; two sons, Kelly A. Young of Spring Lake, Mich., and James D. Young Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Mary Jane Watson of Kansas City, Kan., and eight grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Diabetes Association or Disabled American Veterans.

Adamsville -- Ocie Mae Miller, 89, retired production worker for Aqua Glass, died Monday at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Shackelford Funeral Home Adamsville Chapel with burial in Old Union cemetery in Morris Chapel. Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer has charge. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Miller, the widow of Leonard A. Miller, leaves a daughter, Ruthie Minor of Amory, Miss.; three sons, Glen Miller of Morris Chapel, and Raymond Miller and Vernon Miller, both of Stantonville; a sister, Elsie Irons of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Richard Barnes of Savannah, seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Bolivar -- William Rayan Mardis, 75, maintenance worker for 3M, died Monday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Providence Baptist Church in Town Creek, Ala., where he was a member, with burial in Providence cemetery. Lawrence Funeral Home in Moulton, Ala., has charge. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Hatton Masonic Lodge. He leaves a daughter, Sherry Borden of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; four sons, William Mardis of Florence, Ala., Timothy Mardis of Leighton, Ala., Rodney Mardis of Horn Lake, Miss., and Jerry Mardis of Barton, Ala.; two sisters, Ann Cole and Victoria Ray, and a brother, Danny Mardis, all of Decatur, Ala., 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Henning -- Joe Nathan DeMoss, 18, senior at Southside High School in Jackson, died Friday at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. He leaves his mother, Emma Smith of Jackson; his father, Howard DeMoss of Henning; a sister, Lakisha Levern DeMoss of Denmark, Tenn.; two brothers, La'Vonta Cook of Jackson and MacMillion Young of Alabama, and his grandmother, Blondell DeMoss of Ripley.
