ROBERT LEE ALLEN, 96, of Memphis, died Sunday at his residence. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. He was retired from Delta Airlines. He was a member and former deacon at Bellevue Baptist Church where he had also served as a training union leader and first aid assistant. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a medical corpsman on a hospital ship in the South Pacific. He was a member of Delta Pioneers and Hein Park Civic Club. He leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bill Mashburn of Olive Branch, MS, grandson, Brent Mashburn of Memphis, and two great-grandsons, Logan Mashburn of Memphis and 2nd Lt. Braxton Mashburn of Quantico, VA. The family requests that memorials be sent to Love Worth Finding at Bellevue Baptist Church.

Jennie Bell, 99, of Memphis, died Friday, June 24, 2005 at St. Francis Nursing Home. Mass will be said on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1169 Kerr Ave. Visitation will be Tuesday evening between 5 p.m. & 7 p.m. at Forest Hill South Funeral Home. Mrs. Bell, the widow of Searcy Bell was preceded in death by her daughter, Hazel Benford. She is survived by two daughters, Vivian Garmon and Mable Rodman, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Memorials may be sent to St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Betty Tucker Bertaut, 82, beloved wife and mother, died Sunday, June 26, 2005 after a long illness. She leaves a daughter, Betty Johnson, of Memphis, a son Rick Bertaut, of Santa Clara, CA, three grandchildren, and loving care-givers. She was the widow of E. Upton Bertaut. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, at 9 a.m. near Trezevant Hall at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Peabody and Belvedere. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery on Poplar Avenue. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Jennings was a homemaker, member of Union Avenue Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Women on Mission Group, and Past-President of the Lenox PTA. Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her husband, Faris E. "Bummy" Jennings, Sr. She is survived by her son Faris E. "Rocky" Jennings, Jr. of Memphis, and her sister, Evelyn Jessup of Memphis. He was a member of Berclair Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a fifty year member of the Summer Avenue Lodge, also a fifty year member of the Scottish Rite and American Legion, former member of the Moose and VFW Lodges and a WWII Veteran. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2005; with visitation Tuesday evening 5-8 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home East. Mr. Robbins is the widower of Frances H. Robbins. He leaves his daughter Irene R. Exum of Longwood FL., his 2 sons, Robert H. Robbins and Roy W. Robbins, both of Memphis and 2 grandchildren, Erin and Riley Exum. In memory of Frances H. Robbins any memorials should be sent to the Alzheimers Association, Memphis Chapter.
