PETE JACOBS, 94, of Memphis, expired July 11, 2005 at Methodist University Hospital. Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at New Park Memorial Gardens. GUY OWEN KING, 81, of Germantown, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. He served in the Air Force for 30 years, retiring in 1972. During this time he served in World War II and the Korean War, where he was a POW, a liason officer during the Vietnam Conflict and upon retirement he was a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He was a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis with a masters in Mathematics from Columbia University in New York. He is survived by his wife, Nell F. King, to whom he was married for 57 years, one son, Guy O. King Jr. of Collierville; two daughters, Kay King Gillis and her husband, Tom of Millington and Linda King of Germantown, two grandchildren, Justin K. Gillis and Amy B. He was born September 8, 1938 in Benton County, MS. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruthy Pugh Malone, 5 daughters, Jeannette Malone Wooten and Jackie Porterfield, both of Memphis, Janice Lewis of Corinth, MS, Gloria Harris of Milwaukee, WI, and Brenda Kendrick of Gulfport, MS; 3 sons, Curtis Royal of Memphis, George Lee Malone, Jr. of Millington, and Willie Daniel Malone of Milwaukee, WI; 3 sisters, Polly Mae Malone, Celeste Glover, and Cecil Curry all of Memphis, 20 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
