SLOAN, WINFORD CORDELL, age 68, of Whitesburg, passed away Monday, May 1, 2000, at his home.
He was a member of Catherine Nenny Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Earl and Roberta Sloan; infant son, Jimmy Cordell Sloan; sister, Janice Faye Sloan.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Hazel Imogene Wice Sloan of Whitesburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Max Collins, Donna and Dale Hayes, all of Morristown, Debra and Johnny Westmoreland, Linda and Bill Dalton, Patricia and Raymond Estes, all of Whiteburg, Anita and Tim Witt of Rutledge; brother, Nile Sloan of Mohawk; sisters, Levada Coleman of Ashland, Ky., and Maxine Hamblen of Rogersville; grandchildren, Tony Westmoreland and Jamie Dalton, both of Whitesburg, Michelle Collins, Billy Lynn Dalton, Lorie Saylor, Robbie Hayes and Jessica Hayes, all of Morristown, Kim Hayes of Russellville; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Ellison and Rev. Jim Trent officiating with interment icon in Catherine Nenny Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Bulls Gap.

STINSON, GLADYS O., age 96, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2000 at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.

WISECARVER, MARVIN, age 74, of Russellville, passed away Saturday morning, April 29, 2000, at Morristown-Hamblen Health-care System.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Nora Wisecarver, and a brother, Brice Wisecarver.
Mr. Wisecarver was one of the founding fathers of New Hope Gospel Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday School superintendent and teacher for more than 26 years. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Gospel Church with Rev. Owen McCloud officiating.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CARMON, MRS. OLLIE of Tazewell passed away Monday evening May 22, 2000 at Claiborne County Nursing Home.
Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell is in charge of arrangements.

COURTNEY, NAY, age 94, of Sweetwater, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2000.
Preceded in death by: wife, Mary Alice Courtney; brother, Vestus Courtney.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Rosa Lee and Larry Lane of Philadelphia, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Marvel and Sarah Courtney of Nevada, Truman and Ruby Courtney, Connie and Bennie Courtney, Bobby and Wanda Courtney, all of New Market, John Courtney of Sweetwater; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; special friend, Chris Lanham and niece, Vestine Hurley.
The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m. in Kyker's chapel with Rev. Charles Courtney and Rev. Ronnie White Officiating.
Burial 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, in the Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park.
Kyker Funeral Home in Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements.

DENTON, GEORGE, age 56, of Hale Road, Dandridge, passed away Monday evening, May 22, 2000 at St. Mary's Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge.

FUGATE, MARY, age 73, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2000, after an extended illness.
Funeral service was Monday and the graveside service was this morning.
Westside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

JOHNSON, EDITH, age 85, of Rogersville, passed away Monday morning, May 22, 2000 at the residence of her daughter, Frankie Johnson, in Morristown, following an extended illness. She was a member of Houses Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rev. Bob Johnson; son, James Johnson; daughter, Virginia Martin; parents, James and Ollie Hickman.
She is survived by: five daughters, Bobbie Parrott of Fairfax, Va., Ann West, Bitsy Heck, both of Rogersville, Norma Johnson of Virginia and Frankie Johnson of Morristown; four sons, Jack Johnson, Terry Johnson, Jerry Johnson, all of Rogersville, and Ricky Johnson of Greeneville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Georgie Hickman of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Colboch-Price Chapel with Rev. Henry Wheeler and Rev. John Parrott Sr., officiating.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at Highland cemetery.
Friends may call anytime at the residence of Terry Johnson, 343 Hecktown Road, Rogersville, and from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the services at Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville.

LIVINGSTON, EDWARD D., age 82, of Cedar Bay Street, Orlando, Fla., who was born in Morristown, passed away Friday, May 19, 2000.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., at Chapel Hill cemetery, Orlando, Fla.
Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, Orlando, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

AUSTIN, IDA J., age 87, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 6:45 a.m. in Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.
Mrs. Austin was retired from Food City Bakery.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Morristown and a longtime resident of Henry Manor Apartments.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Austin; brothers, Bill, Clyde, Harvey and Robert Johnson; sister, Lona Brewer; parents, William and Molly Johnson and son-in-law, Robert Talley. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Louise Talley and Kathy and Harley F. Gordon of Morristown, Darlene and Jim Joyce of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Beth and Myron Moffitt, Melanie and Todd Dailey, Allyson and Ashley Joyce, Brad and Mandy Gordon, Ben Gordon; great-grandchildren, Joey and Katie Moffitt and Robert Tyan Dailey.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Jarnagin cemetery with Mr. Dale Rose officiating.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Stetzer Funeral Home in Morristown.

BARGER, ROBERT E., age 56, of Sevierville for 10 years, formerly of Alexandria, Ind., died Saturday, May 20, 2000.
He was born in St. Johns Hospital, Anderson, Ind.
He served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1964.
He was a trop shoot champion and Sportsman Trap Club member in Morristown, Gatlinburg and Fortville, Ind.
He and his wife, Ann Sheldon Barger, married June 3, 1983, and are owners of The Glass Gallery at Millstone Village, Pigeon Forge 37862.
He was preceded in death by father, Harry Barger. Survivors include his wife, Ann Sheldon Barger; children, Debbie Robinson, Shel and Connie Green, Julie Sayers, Tracy and David Clute; grandchildren, Michelle Linville, Rachel Robinson, Aaron and Brandon Green, Stacy and John Robert Sayers, Kent and Ryan Clute; mother, Phyllis Barger; brothers, Ted, Harry Gene and Lawson Barger.
A very warm thank you to all our friends that shared our moments in time with my husband, Ann Sheldon Barger and Family.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville.

BILLINGSLEY, MRS. EMILINE, age 73, of Harrogate, passed away at Tri State Manor Sunday morning.
Coffey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ESTES, MR. JAMES SEWELL, age 49, of Harrogate, passed away at Ft. Sanders Hospital in Knoxville.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate.
Burial will be in Scott cemetery.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate.

FUGATE, MARY, age 73 of Morristown passed away Saturday, May 20, 2000, after an extended illness.
She was born May 26, 1926, in Clay City, Ky.
She was the daughter of the late Elzie and Carrie Williams of Kentucky and widow of Clayton Fugate of Morristown.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Lou and grandson, Jimmie Sexton.
She was a loving and devoted mother and a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Gene (Sue) Sears, of Bean Station, Rosetta Sexton, of Guilford, Ind., Mrs. Houston (Phyllis) Carroll, of Morristown, Mrs. Greg (Anita) Bales, of Talbott, Mrs. Jack (Mozell) Collins, of Morristown; sons, James (Duke), and Randy, of the home, Darrell and wife, Donna Fugate, of Whitesburg, and Jerry Fugate of Morristown; sister, Edith Laubenstein, of Hamilton, Oh.; brothers, Bill Williams, of Tucson, Ariz., Elzie Williams, Jr. and Shelby Williams, of Clay City, Ky. Other survivors include 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers include Rusty Stiner, Ricky McDaniel, Scott Sears, Anthony Fugate, Jonathan Maxey, Billy Laubenstein and Lacy Sexton. Funeral service will be Monday at 8 p.m. at Westside chapel with the Rev. Raymond Long and the Rev. Randy Epps officiating.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. in the Hamblen Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
