Rebecca A. Strope

Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca A. Strope, age 66, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills cemetery. Mrs. Strope passed away Friday afternoon, December 26, 2008, at St. Thomas Hospital.

A native of Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Shields A. and Pauline Towry, was a retired insurance agent, and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Robert A. Strope of Fayetteville, sons Sammy Whitworth of Fayetteville and Scott Whitworth of Tampa, FL, grandchildren Brittany Whitworth of Fayetteville and Grace Ann and John Robert Whitworth both of Tampa, FL, step-daughter Jennifer Stanley of Fayetteville, step-son Tony Strope of Meridianville, AL, 7 step-grandchildren, and brothers Burton and Hugh Towry both of Lincoln County. She was preceded by a sister Geraldine Templeton.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Lonnie Ables

Funeral services for Mr. Lonnie Ables, age 60, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 1 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Johnson and Col. David Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect cemetery. Mr. Ables passed away Friday afternoon, February 6, 2009 at Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN.

A son of the late Henry Leon, Sr. and Rosa Aileen Ashby Ables, he was a native of Lincoln County, retired from Ables Produce where he was the owner operator for 30 years, and a member of Prospect Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Joan Osborne Ables of Fayetteville, sons Patrick Scott Ables and companion Matthew Groce and Christopher Lee Ables and wife Vickie all of Fayetteville, step-sons Karl Shewry of Fayetteville and Joel Tony Shewry and wife Lisa of Arlington, TX, grandchildren Tanner, Colton, and Kaitlyn Ables, sister Patsy Ivey and husband Kenny, and mother-in-law Vonola Osborne all of Fayetteville. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Pamela Ables and brother James Martin Ables.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ables, Karl Shewry, Lee Gordon, Jonathon Scott, Dwight Towry, and Gary Badenhop. Honorary pallbearers will be Tanner and Colton Ables, Richard Wright, and Kelly Stevenson.

Vivian (Henderson) Hodge
22 August 1928 - 11 February 2009

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Henderson Hodge, age 80, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills cemetery beside her husband Howard Hodge. Mrs. Hodge passed away Wednesday February 11th in Lincoln Medical Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Vernon and Nellie Scruggs Henderson. Mrs. Hodge was a realtor and a member of the Highland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters Donna Lewter and Rhonda Lowman both of Fayetteville two granddaughters Jennifer Lewter Jenkins of Ardmore, AL and Carla Lineberger of Fayetteville, one grandson Jeff Dugger of Fayetteville and one sister Carol Tunstill of Fayetteville.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Annie Lois Johnson Archer

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lois Johnson Archer, age 96, of Fayetteville will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday at Talley cemetery. She will be buried beside her husband Fred Holt Archer. Mrs. Archer passed away Saturday evening November 1, 2008.

A daughter of the late Samuel Ellie and Sarah Elizabeth Moore Johnson, she was a native of Hickman County, TN, a retired merchant and homemaker, and a member of West Fayetteville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her son Freddy Archer of Leesburg, GA, grandchildren Shelia Archer of Holly Springs, MS, Richard Archer of Fayetteville, and Christy Mays of Fayetteville, and great-grandchildren Nathan Archer, Richard Archer, Jr, and Brittany and Michael Taylor. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son Sanders Archer.

Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 AM Tuesday until the time of service at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Lincoln County.

Dwaine Stubblefield, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Dwaine Stubblefield, Jr., age 55, of Frankewing will be conducted at 2 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wrights cemetery beside his wife Phyllis who passed away in 2000. Mr. Stubblefield passed away Friday morning at his residence.

A son of the late Eunice Louise Greenway Stubblefield and Cecil Dwaine Stubblefield, Sr., who survives, he was a native of Giles County, employed as a logger, and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors in addition to his father include his brothers Timothy Keith Stubblefield and wife Sandy of McBurg and Noel Lee Stubblefield and wife Lisa of Pulaski, sisters Paula Mitchell of McBurg and Vickie White and husband Allen of Alabama, children Martin Stubblefield and wife Sissy of Fayetteville, Angie Davis and husband Tony of McBurg, Virginia Rickett and husband Paul of Lewisburg, grandchildren Jonathon, James, and Beth Stubblefield, Tiffany and Justin Norris, Lauren and Ashley Bennett, and Lindsey Ricketts, several nieces and nephews, and special close friend Dennis Bradford. Dwaine is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Stubblefield.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home. Those serving as pallbearers are: Martin and Noel Stubblefield, Tony Pope, Dennis Bradford, Jimmy “Cotton” Mitchell, and Brian Stubblefield.

Roy Dale Fenner
16 December 1969 - 11 September 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Dale Fenner, age 38, of Tullahoma will be conducted at 2PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with burial to follow in Melson cemetery. Mr. Fenner died Thursday morning at Harton Hospital.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Roy Fenner who died in 2007 and Elizabeth Hazlett Fenner who survives. Mr. Fenner was a contractor.

Survivors include his wife Lori Fenner of Fayetteville, daughter Sarah Elizabeth Fenner of Tullahoma, step-sons Kylee Fike, Jacob Fike and Zack Fike, his mother Elizabeth Hazlett Fenner of Tullahoma, three sisters Tracy (Leroy) Tate of Lynchburg and Carol Fenner and Adam Lackey of Fayetteville and Judy (Curt) Brewer of Tullahoma, two brothers Troy Fenner and Linda Lowe of Tullahoma, Ricky Fenner of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Alese (Askins) Motlow
5 December 1925 - 6 July 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Alese (Askins) Motlow, age 84, of Fayetteville will be conducted Wednesday at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Ann Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Mulberry cemetery beside her late husband William E. (Bill) Motlow Sr. Mrs.Motlow passed away Tuesday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Ross Askins and Vela Templeton Askins, was employed as Asst. City Clerk of Fayetteville, and a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter Julia (Sissy) Parks and husband Glenn of Fayetteville, sons Robert Lee (Bob) Motlow II of Fayetteville, William E. (Ed) Motlow Jr. and wife Erika of Woodbury, grandchildren Lee Motlow, Julie Anna Motlow Porter, Grey and Katie Parks, Brette Motlow, and Billy Motlow, great grandchild Robert Blake Motlow, Brother-in law Reid Hopper of Cullman AL, and sister-in law Katherine Townes and husband George of Shelbyville. Mrs. Motlow was preceded in death by a son Dan Motlow.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 11 AM till time of the service at 1 PM Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.

Otis E.A. Tucker
27 June 1920 - 28 June 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Otis E. A. Tucker, age 90, of Fayetteville will be conducted Thursday at 10AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Corley and Bro. Joe Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia cemetery beside his wife Wanda Tucker. Mr. Tucker passed away Monday June 28th at his residence.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Clarence and Beatrice Burrum Tucker. Mr. Tucker was a self employed painter and a member of the Stateline Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters Geraldine (Jim) Reed of Fayetteville, Linda Neal of Fayetteville and Mamie (Frank) Boyce of Shelbyville, two sons Louis Tucker and Douglas( Wendy) Tucker both of Petersburg, one sister Louise Bayless of Hollywood, FL, 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Tucker.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Justin Tyler Stewart
1 May 1992 - 25 June 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Justin Tyler Stewart, age 18, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Janell Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Stewarts cemetery. Mr. Stewart passed away Friday evening.

A native of Lincoln County, he was a son of Scott Stewart of Huntland and Michelle Lyell of Fayetteviille who survive and a student.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his brothers Gregory Chase Stewart and Joshua Wayne Lyell both of Fayetteville, step-brothers Gage Stewart of Winchester, Trevor Stewart of Elora, and Skylar Stewart of Estill Springs, maternal grandparents Jimmy and Joyce Koonce of Fayetteville, and paternal Danny and Lori Stewart of Huntland.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

Paul Vitchel Bevels
21 May 2010 - 29 May 2010

Funeral service for Infant Paul Vitchel Bevels age, one week, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 10 AM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Green officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln cemetery with Bro. Winfred Stayton officiating.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of Justin Darrell and Katie Elisabeth Jacks Bevels of Fayetteville.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister Jessica Nichole Bevels, grandparents Paul Thomas and Ann Bevels, all of Fayetteville, grand parents Jimmy and Debbie Jacks of Flintville, uncles Adam Jacks and wife Shuree, Eric Bevels, Brian Bevels and wife Beverly, and Sean Bevels, aunt Leiane Reynolds and husband Rusty, cousins Wesley, Caden, and Abby Jacks, Brian, Jr. and Lawryn Bevels, and Parker Reynolds all of Fayetteville.

There will be no visitation prior to services at the funeral home.
