Brian Armstrong
10 June 1972 - 29 April 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Brian Armstrong, age 37, of the Bellville community will be conducted at 10AM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Billions officiating... Burial will follow in Melson cemetery. Mr. Armstrong passed away Thursday night in Vanderbilt Hospital.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of Dolan and Rita Brown Armstrong who survive. Mr. Armstrong was a farmer and a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his parents include two brothers Wayne (Lynn) Armstrong of Fayetteville and Dwayne Armstrong of Fayetteville, grandparents Charles and Bonnie Brown of Fayetteville, nephew Cody Swing and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday night 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Ernest Jackson Tucker
31 May 1923 - 19 April 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Jackson Tucker, age 86, of Fayetteville will be conducted Thursday at 10AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Smith and Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Tucker passed away Monday evening in Huntsville Hospital.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Elmer A. and Ina R. Tucker, a retired radio engineer and, disc jockey at WEKR for over 50 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr.Tucker was a fiddle player, Small Market DJ of the Year in 1985, Ole Time Fiddle Champion at the 1973 Athens Fiddler’s Contest, a founding member of the Tennessee Tune Twisters and was a Ham radio operator for over 60 years.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Grovene Dyer Tucker of Fayetteville, three sons Ricky (Judy) Tucker of Coldwater, Billy (Debbie) Tucker of Winchester and Jeff (Carol) Tucker of Flintville, grandchildren Kelli (David) Campbell of Brentwood, TN, Matthew Tucker of Madison, AL, Greg Gipson of Winchester, Kelly (Chastity) Gipson of Winchester, Shawn (Terina) Weir of Flintville and Ed (Lori) Brusher of VA and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Sarah Martha Marie Parks
12 July 1992 - 16 April 2010

Funeral service for Ms. Sarah Martha Marie Parks age 17, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Mayo, Rev. Fonda Askins Blair, and Ray Carnley officiating. Burial will follow in Kelso cemetery. Ms. Parks passed away Friday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.

She was the daughter of Charles Parks of Mulberry and Susan Parks of Fayetteville, a native of Lincoln County. She was a senior at Lincoln County high school and a member of the Champ Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a pre-school Sunday school teacher.

In addition to her parents she is survived by a sister Ashley Parks of Fayetteville, grandfather Rufus Parks and wife Peggy of Huntsville, grandmother Margie Bennett Culbreath of Hazel Green, grandmother Anne Carnley and husband Ray of Milton, FL, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Paul and Martha Parks and Hugh and Marie Bennett, and grandfather RH Canfield.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home. Those serving as pallbearers are Lance, Landon, and Daniel Mullinax, Scott and Brian Parks, and Brian Norbett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sarah Parks Scholarship Fund at the Bank of Lincoln County.

Josephine (Berry) Hamlin
4 March 1921 - 10 April 2010

Graveside services for Mrs. Josephine (Berry) Hamlin, age 89, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 12PM Tuesday at Lebanon cemetery with Higgins Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Hamlin passed away Saturday morning April 10th at her residence in Fayetteville.

She was a native of Lawrence County, and the daughter of the late John and Maude Davis Berry. Mrs. Hamlin was a homemaker, sales clerk and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters Jo Ruth Lewter and husband Don, Ginger H McCown and Barbara H. Mason all of Fayetteville and Jane H. Luther and husband Ed of Murfreesboro, a son James B. Hamlin Jr of Fayetteville, grandchildren James Rae Lewter, Jill M Fugate, Scott McCown, Lisa M Cobern, Laurie M. Lowrance and Jordan Lee Hamlin all of Fayetteville, Joey Lewter of Blue Springs, MO and Lee Mason of Ardmore, 24 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 10AM-11:30am at Higgins Funeral Home.

Ruth Nadine (Honey) Rozar
8 July 1923 - 17 February 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Nadine Rozar, age 86, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 1PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville cemetery beside her husband Willie B. Rozar who passed away in 1974. Mrs. Rozar passed away Wednesday morning in Lincoln Care Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late James Odie and Essie Mae Hill Honey. Mrs. Rozar was a retired employee of Serbin Fashions and a member of the Stoney Point Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter Billie Bryant of Howell, two sons, Mike Rozar and wife Dianne of Taft and Ray Rozar and wife Judy of Fayetteville, brother James Odie Honey Jr of Taft, sister Doris Jean Jennings of Indiana, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie B. Rozar, son-in-law Lonnie Herman Bryant, sisters Betty Jennings, Nancy Shears, Mary Smith and Kathleen Williams.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Joe D. "J.D." Sullivan
18 January 1933 - 4 February 2010

Funeral services for Mr. J. D. Sullivan, age 77, of Mulberry will be conducted at 11AM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mulberry cemetery. Mr. Sullivan passed away Thursday morning in Donalson Skill Care Center.

Mr. Sullivan was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Jim C. and Ellen Tucker Sullivan, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife Mary Gattis Sullivan of Mulberry, son Justin Sullivan and wife Dixie of Mulberry, grandsons Brice Sullivan of Mulberry, and Brandon Tucker and wife Farrah of Elkmont, AL, granddaughter Bridget Smith and husband Richie of Fayetteville, great grandchildren Rilee Smith, Reese Smith both of Fayetteville and Sister-in-law Sadie Sullivan of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 4-7PM at Higgins Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers,

Gary Ray Wimberly
15 November 1949 - 29 January 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Gary Ray Wimberly, age 60, of Camp Hill, Alabama will conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P M at Higgins Funeral Home with Brother Michael Wimberly officiating. Burial will follow in Stewart’s cemetery beside his wife Brenda McElroy Wimberly. Mr. Wimberly passed away Friday in Opelika, AL. A native of Lincoln County, TN, Mr. Wimberly was the son of the late Coleman and Jewel Flynt Wimberly, a veteran of the U. S. Army, and a butcher for Winn Dixie Grocery Company. He is survived by a son James R. Wimberly of Opelika, AL, sister Brenda Preston of Fayetteville, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister Cherry Wimberly Arnold.Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 12PM until 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Hospital.Children Hospital Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or your favorite charity.

Wilma Kathleen (Creson) Buntley
27 November 1915 - 24 January 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Kathleen Buntley, age 94, of Mulberry, will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband W. Fred Buntley. Mrs. Buntley passed away Sunday morning at Glen Oaks Convalescent Center in Shelbyville.

A daughter of the late Willie Alexander and Dora Leigh Warden Creson, she was a homemaker and a member of Mulberry Church of Christ.

Survivors include her nieces Wanda Daniels of Harvest, AL and Linda Owen of Huntsville.

Visitation with the family will be from 9 AM until time of service Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Nelle Marie Matlock Fulton
Died January 7, 2010

Memorial service for Mrs. Nelle Marie Matlock Fulton age 89 of Fayetteville will be conducted Saturday January 16, 2010 at 7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Prospect cemetery in Loudon TN. Mrs. Fulton passed away Thursday January 7, 2010 in the Lynchburg Nursing Home.

She was the daughter of the late Walter John and Gladys Alrie Dail Matlock; she was a native of Loudon TN. Lived many years in Dayton, Ohio, before moving to Lincoln County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed Bridge and Square dancing.

Survivors include children, Janice Fulton Duncan, Brenda Fulton Lunoe and husband Stephen Lunoe all of Fayetteville, Ronald Fulton and wife Dorita Fulton of Mt. Pleasant TN, 6 grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, and brother Walter Edward Matlock of Columbus, Texas. Mrs. Fulton was preceeded in death by brothers Jesse Matlock and Thomas Ballard Matlock.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday January 16, 2010 at 6 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 N. Elk Avenue, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Willa Mae Flynt Goolsby
7 May 1936 - 17 December 2009

Funeral services for Mrs. Willa Mae Flynt Goolsby, age 73, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 10AM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin cemetery. Mrs. Goolsby passed away Thursday evening at Lincoln Medical Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Bob and Zella Mae Johnson Flynt. Mrs. Goolsby was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Harold Goolsby of Fayetteville, three sons, David Goolsby and wife Carla of Taft, Danny Goolsby of Fayetteville and Roger Goolsby and wife Janice of Pulaski, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister Gertrude Sloan of Ardmore and brother Johnny Flynt of Lewisburg. She was preceded in death a son Harold Glenn Goolsby Jr.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
