Robert L. Bevill
Died November 26, 2009

Born in Limestone County on August 8, 1918. Mr. Robert L. Bevill, age 91, of Fayetteville, was educated in Huntsville, Lincoln, Flintville, and a graduate of the Hemphill Diesel Institute in Memphis. He worked in government construction and was a farmer in his early years. After farming, he became a Field Rep. for Kraft for 12 years. He was elected as the first president of Adult 4-H Leaders, was active in organizing young 4-H club members, and helped with grooming and showing of their livestock. He served as president of Avalon Dairies for 22 years and was a member of the state-wide dairy association where he was elected president twice in ten years. He was the only person to serve twice during that time. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He was a member of the Fayetteville Golf and Country Club for 50 years, a member of the Rotary Club, serving as both president and vice-president, and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club since it was organized in Lincoln County. He served as president of Tennessee Technology Society, the first president of the Fayetteville Industrial Board, was one of the four people to help reorganize the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce in its present form. He was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church. He was a director of Lincoln County Bank, First Federal Savings and Loan, Colonial Bank, Peoples Bank of Elk Valley, and was chairman of the board of directors of Union planters and Regions Bank of Fayetteville.

Survivors are his wife of twenty-two years Elaine Waid Bevill, two sons Dick Bevill of Whitefish, Montana and Bob Bevill of State Line, two step-sons Kirt Ray of Fayetteville and Waid Ray of Collierville, Tennessee, five grandchildren Rob, Scott, and Laney Bevill, and Jenny and Amanda Bevill, and three great-grandchildren. He was a son of the late Arthur and Minnie Nunley Bevill.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bevills Chapel cemetery in Madison County, Alabama. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Saturday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Building Fund.

Rosa Nell (Metcalf) Tucker
25 December 1924 - 20 November 2009

Funeral services for Rosa Nell Tucker age 84 of Fayetteville will be conducted Sunday at 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Giles Memory Gardens in Giles County. Mrs. Tucker passed away Friday morning at Donaldson Care Center.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Eva Gibson Metcalf, a native of Lincoln County, retired from Russell Vending Co, and was a member of the Park City Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband L D. Tucker of Fayetteville, daughters Margaret Blasingim of Fayetteville, Hester Bumgardner of Petersburg, son Bob James Walls of Lewisburg, step-daughter Kathy Graham of Fayetteville, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Sarah Marie (Bryant) Bennett
14 February 1917 - 4 August 2009

Graveside services for Mrs. Sarah Marie Bennett age 92, of Elora, will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday afternoon at Gum Springs cemetery. Mrs. Bennett passed away Tuesday at Donalson Care Center.

Mrs. Bennett was a native of Lincoln County and a daughter of the late Richard and Rachel Fanning Bryant. Mrs. Bennett was retired from Serbin.

Survivors include sons Billy Bennett of Flintville and Terrell Bennett of Elora, a daughter Margie Culbreath of Hazel Green, AL, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great- grandchildren. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 4-9 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Jerry Fitch
17 October 1938 - 30 July 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Fitch, age 70, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect cemetery. Mr. Fitch passed away Thursday July 30th at Lincoln Medical Center.

He was a native of Huntsville and a son of the late Ernest and Doris Bishop Fitch. Mr. Fitch was retired from the U. S. Air Force and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife Glendon Marie Sullivan Fitch of Fayetteville, daughter Terri Honea and husband Terry of Fayetteville, grandchildren Rachel Honea of Fayetteville, Corey Fitch of Huntsville, and Amber Luke of Chattanooga, brothers and sisters Betty Greenhaw and husband David of Hazel Green, Brenda Gray and husband Art of Taft, Bobby Fitch and wife Susie of Park City, Ernest C. Fitch and wife Tawnia of Fayetteville, Donnie Fitch and wife Oleta of Flintville and Ricky Fitch and Wife Gayle of Taft, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Andrew James Patterson
3 January 1986 - 7 June 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Andrew Patterson, age 23, of Mulberry will be conducted Saturday June 13th at 10AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Phil Rogers, Pastor Bobby Bates, Dan Melchoir officiating. Burial will follow in Mulberry cemetery. Mr. Patterson passed away Sunday morning June 7th.

He was a native of Wellman, Iowa and the son of Randy and Mary Sieren Patterson. He was employed by Sharp Communications as a systems installer and was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife Mallory Rogers Patterson of Mulberry, son Noah Patrick Patterson of Mulberry, three sisters Nicole Patterson of Hollywood, FL, Tina Peck and husband Jeremy of Wellman, Iowa and Angie Prince and husband Adam of Fayetteville, mother and father-in-law Phil and Debbie Rogers of Mulberry, grandmother LaDora Patterson of Wellman, Iowa, ten nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mother’s Against Drunk Drivers, 1100 Kermit Drive Suite # 022, Nashville, TN 37217.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

James Kenneth Wright
9 February 1929 - 20 May 2009

Funeral services for Mr. James Kenneth Wright, age 80, of Frankewing will be conducted at 2PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Wrights cemetery. Mr. Wright passed away Wednesday May 20th.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Hollis and Covie McMillen Wright. Mr. Wright was a former production worker with Pulaski Rubber Company and was a member of the Booneshill Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include four daughters Becky McMeen and husband Chuck of Lincoln, Kaye Parker and husband Mike of McBurg, Ann Wright of Greenbrier and Janie Rhodes of Petersburg, three sisters Pauline Burgess of Murfreesboro, Brenda Sullenger and husband Lawson of Lawrenceburg, and Emogene Lloyd of Tullahoma, brother Bobby Wright of McBurg, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Grandsons, nephews and grandson-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by a son James Roger Wright.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

George F. Reeves
19 September 1957 - 24 March 2009

Graveside services for Mr. George F. Reeves, age 51, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Thursday at Macedonia cemetery with Bro. Billy Fowler officiating. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of services. Mr. Reeves passed away Tuesday March 24 at Lincoln Medical Center.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Frank Waide Reeves and Dorothy Imse Reeves of Fayetteville who survives. He was an auto mechanic and was formerly employed by Ray Gardner.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his sons George Shannon Reeves and Shaun Wade Reeves both of Fayetteville, two sisters Dorothea Kolle and Priscilla Holder both of Fayetteville, two grandchildren Wyatt and Coral Reeves and a special daughter-in-law Jennifer Reeves two uncles Chester Imse of Fayetteville and Joey Imse of Huntsville, AL . There will be no visitation at the funeral home prior to services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Reeves Family.

Johnny Stewart

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Stewart, age 47, of Flintville will be conducted at 1 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Mayo and Bro. Henry McPeters officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville cemetery. Mr. Stewart passed away Friday afternoon, January 30, 2009, at his residence.

A son of Charles Randolph and Bobbie Joyce Holder Stewart who survive, he was a native of Hammond, IN and was employed with Country Gas for 20 years.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife Linda Stewart of Flintville, sons Aaron and Johnny Stewart, daughter Jennifer Stewart all of Flintville, brothers Steven Stewart and wife Christi of Estill Springs and Michael Stewart and wife Lori of Fayetteville, nephews Charles, Craig, and Shelby Stewart, and father- and mother-in-law Robert and Mary Kay Broe.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Elizabeth Faye (Boggs) Mason
23 September 1939 - 29 November 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Faye Mason, age 68 of Taft, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Brother Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Mason passed away Saturday at her residence.

A native of Madison County, AL, Mrs. Mason was a daughter of the late W.K. and Sadie Elizabeth Simmons Boggs and was a member of the Taft Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include three daughters: Debbie K. Blade and husband Tommy, Darla A. Mason Yates, and Denise Y. Mason, three sons: Johnney C. Mason and wife Paula, James W. Mason and wife Debbie, and Jeffery D. Mason, Honorary sons: Jack Guthrie and Paul Powell, four brothers: Harold Boggs and wife Edith, Lindsey Boggs and wife Rita, Dennis Boggs and wife Patty, and Dickie Boggs, three sisters: Sheila Boggs, Wanda Sue Boggs, Shirley Boggs Saint and husband Virgil, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her daughter Dalana Gay Mason, grandson Chase Lee Davis, great grandson Nicholas Craig Mason, Brothers Nelson and Phillip Boggs, sister Jackie Ellen Boggs, and son-in-law Michael Wayne Blade.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5-8 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home.

George Thomas "Tommy" Howard
14 May 1935 - 6 September 2008

Funeral services for Mr. George Thomas “Tommy” Howard, age 73 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 PM with Rev. Van Johnson and Bro. Ray Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Howard died Saturday evening in St. Thomas Hospital.

A native of Lincoln County he was the son of the late James Franklin and Sarah Lois (Thomas) Howard. He was retired from Genesco and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Margie (Gardner) Howard, daughter Deborah Ann Howard and special aunt Lilly Howard.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening form 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
