Elma Marie (Gotcher) Clark
28 October 1918 - 23 August 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Elma Clark, age 89, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Monday at 11 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ward and Ann Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Clark passed away Saturday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.

A daughter of the late William Cowden and Lora Lee Sanders Gotcher, she was a native of Lincoln County, was a homemaker and business woman, and of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include daughter Melissa Gill, son Harry Philip Clark, Jr., both of Murfreesboro, grandchildren William Gill, Greer Gill, and Sawyer Clark, brother Dr. Robert E.L. Gotcher of Hillsborough, CA, and sister Evelyn Babb of Lebanon.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

Ted Davis Counts
April 19, 1948 – July 10, 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Ted Davis Counts, age 60, of Elora will be conducted at 1PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Schmidt and Bro. Donnie Amason officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan cemetery. Mr. Counts died Thursday at his residence.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Carl and Marie Davis Counts. Mr. Counts was an electrician and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Bostick Counts of Elora, son Tim Counts of Decatur, AL, four daughters Hope Umsted of Collierville, TN, Bridget Hill of Ardmore, AL, Cindy Mills of Elkmont, AL and Robin Garbin of Gretna, LA, one brother Kenny Counts of Elora, one sister Judy Barley of Elora and eleven grandchildren. Mr. Counts was preceded in death by a brother Benjamin Counts and step-father Jessie Rutledge.

Visitation with th family will be Saturday eveing from 4-8 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home.

Roberta Josephine "Robbie" (Hardin) Walker
27 March 1923 - 8 July 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Robbie Hardin Walker, age 85, of Elora will be conducted Thursday at 10AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow in Elora cemetery beside her husband W. C. Walker who died in 2002. Mrs. Walker died Tuesday morning in Donalson Care Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Dawson and Ella Smith Hardin. Mrs. Walker was a retired school teacher, a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society, and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Walker of Elora and Vicki Smith of Lebanon, two sons Jim Walker of Elora and Jack Walker of Montgomery, TX, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one nephew Max Horton of Simsbury, CT.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Walker’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or Fayetteville Lincoln County Public Library.

Willard Paul Brooks
25 September 1928 - 1 July 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Willard Paul Brooks, age 79, of Meridianville will be conducted at 2PM Thursday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Campbell cemetery. Mr. Brooks died Tuesday in Lincoln Care Center.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Henry and Susie Rudd Brooks. He was a retired truck driver, veteran of U.S. Navy and the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Meridianville Church of Christ where he also serviced as Elder.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sara Taylor Brooks of Meridianville, son Robert Taylor Brooks and wife Mary Jane of Tallahassee, FL, daughter Corrine Brooks Brandon and husband Tom of Hazel Green, two grandchildren Paul Brandon and wife Megan of Hazel Green and Sara Elizabeth Brandon of Hazel Green, three brothers David Brooks and wife Dot of New Market, James Brooks and wife Mildred of Albertville and Frank Brooks and wife Nell of Scottsboro, one sister Clydia Kimbrough of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from noon until 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Meridianville Church of Christ Costa Rico Mission Fund or Madison Academy.

Aubrey Lee Mitchell Montgomery
18 July 1925 - 18 May 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Aubrey Lee Mitchell Montgomery, age 82, of Howell will be conducted at 11AM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Unity cemetery beside his wife Laura Elease Bryant Montgomery who died in 2005. Mr. Montgomery died Sunday at Donalson Care Center. He was a native of Limestone County, AL, veteran of U. S. Marine Corp and former employee of Moorehead Tree Surgery. He was the son of the late Richard and Dovie Lee Mills Montgomery. Survivors include two sons Ronnie Dale Montgomery of Petersburg, and Philip Wayne Montgomery of Kelso, four daughters Donna Kay Jones of Cornersville, Connie Lynn Edwards of Fayetteville, Angie Carter of Murfreesboro and Tonia Michelle Johnson of Flintville, ten grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 4-9PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Daniel Ray "Dan" Balcom
28 December 1952 - 9 May 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Daniel Ray Balcom, age 55, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. David Sain officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove cemetery. Mr. Balcom died May 9 in Democratic Republic of Congo.

He was a native of Biloxi, MS and the son of Charles Calvin and Virginia Ruth Chester Balcom. He was a retired pilot instructor with the U. S. Army, a helicopter pilot for PHI and a member of the West Fayetteville Church of Christ.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Jean Smith Balcom of Fayetteville, son Damann John Balcom and wife Stephanie of Fayetteville, daughter Danell Rayne Kalagian and husband Paul of Calera, AL, five grandchildren, and a brother Timothy Balcom of Decatur, AL. He was preceded in death by a sister Kerrie Sue Martin.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to the African Mission Fund, c/o West Fayetteville Church of Christ, P.O. Box 456, Fayetteville, TN 37334

Margaret Catherine Jennings
30 August 1908 - 15 February 2009

Funeral services for Miss Margaret Catherine Jennings, age 100, of Fayetteville

will be conducted at 11AM Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery. Miss Jennings passed away Sunday February 15th at Lincoln Medical Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Claude C. and Belle Pickett Jennings. Miss Jennings was a retired school teacher and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include two nieces Charlotte Forrester of Fayetteville and Betty Lou Talley of Marshall County, and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers Henry and Albin Jennings.

Memorials may be made to the Margaret Jennings Scholarshop Fund at First Bank in Fayetteville

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

Joe Mack Pigg
17 June 1938 - 23 February 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Mack Pigg, age 70, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside his wife Ann Elizabeth Wilson Pigg. Mr. Pigg passed away Monday morning at St. Thomas Hospital.

A son of the late Jesse Stonewall and Flora Hensley Pigg, he was a native of Lincoln County, formerly employed at Elk Yarn Mills, a custodian at Washington Street Church of Christ for 27 years, and a member of North Side Church of Christ.

Survivors include his sons John Mark Pigg of Fayetteville and Stephen Pigg of Murfreesboro, grandchildren Joseph, Jacob, Jonathon, Landon, and Malyn Pigg, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pigg was preceded in death by brothers James, Guy, Robert and Bill Pigg, sisters Annie Lou MacDonald, Dorothy Stocstill and Mary Morton

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

Thomas Springer
15 September 1934 - 24 April 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas L. Springer, age 74, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Turner and Pastor Jim Arrington officiating. Burial will be at Fall River cemetery in Lawrence County at 4:30 PM. Mr. Springer passed away Friday afternoon at Huntsville Hospital.

A son of the late Alec Caroll and Vera O. Hazelwood Springer, he was a native of Lawrence County, formerly employed with the Lincoln County Department of Human Services, an Army veteran, and a member of Highland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Linda Springer of Fayetteville, daughter Missy Posey and husband Mark, granddaughter Grace Posey, grandsons Steven, David, and William Posey, and sister Mildred Minatra. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Springer, son Thomas Alan Springer and brothers and sisters Carrie Belle Hillhouse, Kathleen Springer, AC Springer, Jr., Ida Ruth Konig, James Springer, and Howard Springer.

Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until the time service Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Gideon International or Highland Rim Civitan.

Carl (Ted) T. Range
19 July 1952 - 31 August 2009

Graveside services for Mr. Carl (Ted) Range, age 57, of Fayetteville will be conducted Friday afternoon September 4th at 12PM at Kirkland cemetery with Ray Pitts officiating. Mr. Range passed away Monday August 31st in Ardmore on Main Nursing Home in Ardmore, TN. Visitation with the family will be from 10am-11:30am at Higgins Funeral Home.

He was a native of Warren, Pennsylvania and the son of the late Richard Melvin and Marian Geneva Armstrong Range. Mr. Range was retired U. S. Air Force and a member of the Bellview Church of God.

Survivors include his wife Linda C. Range of Fayetteville, daughter Cinnamon Garcia of Edinburg, TX, brother Harry Range and wife Pam of Hartselle, AL, two sisters Ruth Collins and husband Ray of Houston, TX, and Sandra Rigsby of Lynchburg, TN, grandson Reuben Rodriguez of Edinburg, TX, granddaughter Amber Rodriguez of Edinburg, TX, grandson Brendon Garcia of Edinburg, TX, and several nieces and nephews.

Lonnie Bryant
17 March 1943 - 3 October 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Lonnie Herman Bryant, age 66, of Petersburg will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville cemetery. Mr. Bryant passed away Saturday evening at Lincoln Medical Center.

A son of the late John William and Elvesa Posey Bryant, he was a native of Lincoln County, owned Bryant’s Auto Salvage, and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Billie Sue Rozar Bryant of Petersburg, sons Marty Bryant and special friend Ashley of Belfast and Kevin Bryant and wife Shannon of Howell, granddaughters Shelby Towery of Petersburg and Whitney Bryant of Fayetteville, brothers J.W. Bryant and wife Corrine of Hughey and Bill Bryant of Fayetteville, sister Rachel Jones of Fayetteville, mother-in-law Ruth Nadine Rozar of Fayetteville, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son Lonnie Troy Bryant and sister Elease Montgomery.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
