Matthew Ryan Malone
13 June 1975 - 26 February 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Matthew Ryan Malone, age 33, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11am Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. David Sain and Bro. Mike George officiating. Burial will follow in Unity cemetery. Mr. Malone passed away Thursday night February 26th. .

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of John Robert (Bob) and Jean Hood Malone. Mr. Malone was a licensed General Contractor and a member of the West Fayetteville Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon. He was a devout Christian, a loving father, husband, brother and son. He was a Board Member and Past-President of the Lincoln County Livestock Association, an avid cattleman, horseman, hunter and a guide for Kids Hunting for a Cure.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife Dawn Mosley Malone of Fayetteville, daughter Aubrey Mattison Malone and son John Dylan Malone both of Fayetteville, grandparents Geneva Malone, Floy Hood Hines and Pete Hines all of Fayetteville, sister Jade Butcher of Fayetteville, mother-in-law Martha Mosley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandfathers James M Malone and Carl Russell Hood.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Kids Hunting for a Cure, 3 Kendall Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or the Nashville Area Ronald McDonald House.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Robert Wilson Simms
Died April 20, 2009

Mr. Robert Wilson Simms, age 85, was born in 1924 in Maury County. He was a son of Judge A.E. Simms, Sr. and Mary Maude McCown. He graduated from Central High School where he was captain of the football team and student body president. He entered the University of Tennessee in 1941 and then left to enter World War II where he was a medic in the European Theater. He then completed his law degree in 1948. He married the former Lillian Martin of Warren County and practiced law in Fayetteville, TN for 56 years. He held the position of Lincoln County Attorney for 33 years.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for many years. He was also on the administrative board and taught the adult fellowship class.

Mr. Simms was active in many community activities and served on the Fayetteville Recreation Board, Civitan Club, and Lincoln Board of Public Utilities.

He was preceded in death by Arthur E. Simms, Jr., Mary Alice Hyde, and Robert Morgan Simms.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind 4 children Ann W. Simms, William Edward, Ellen S. Cooter, and Mary M. Harris. He had 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 PM at First United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be from 1 PM until the time of service Wednesday at the church.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the building fund at First United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, TN.

Higgins Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Robert Wilson Simms.

Caleb Presley Gill
Died May 4, 2009

Funeral services for Master Caleb Presley Gill, age 7, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 10 AM Thursday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. A private burial will follow in the Gill family cemetery. Caleb passed away Monday morning at his residence.

A son of the late Kenneth Lanier Gill and Deborah Jean Owens Gill who survives, Caleb was a native of Lincoln County and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, are brothers Clay L. and Coy L. Gill, sister Emma Catherine Gill, maternal grandparents Dave and Jackie Owens, paternal grandparents John, Jr. and Etta Mae Gill, great-grandparents Clayton and Catherine Thomas, uncles and aunts Keith and Cindy Gill, Casey and Shirley Owens McCoy, and David Owens, Jr., and several cousins.

Visitation with the family will be after 4 PM Wednesday at First Baptist Church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Nashville or Angel Heart Farms.

Higgins Funeral Home is serving the family of Master Caleb Presley Gill.

Thomas Collins Crabtree
22 December 1930 - 25 June 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Collins Crabtree, age 78, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 4PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard cemetery. Mr. Crabtree passed away Thursday June 25th at Willow of Winchester Nursing Home.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Charlie C. and Etta Lorene Erwin Crabtree. Mr. Crabtree served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired mechanic.

Survivors include a son Marc Crabtree and wife Beverly of Fayetteville, two sisters Dot Hastings of Petersburg and Myra Hastings of Lewisburg, two grandchildren Whitney Duncan and husband Dakota and Casey Crabtree and one great-great grandchild Lakota Diesel Duncan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Virginia Sullivan and Robbie Sowell.

Visitation with the family will be from 2-4PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Lila Lee (Mills) Logan "Dink"
14 June 1923 - 18 July 2009

Funeral services for Mrs. Lila Mills Logan, age 86, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 3PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Daughtery and Bro. David Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband Rutledge Logan who died in 1992. Mrs. Logan passed away Saturday July 18th in Lincoln Medical Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Willie Joe and Callie Milstead Mills. Mrs. Logan was a former employee of Serbin Manufacturing and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sisters Clady Robertson and husband Charles of Birmingham, AL, Janice Zielinski and husband Jim of Huntsville, AL, two brothers Dan Mills and wife Priscilla of Fayetteville and Richard Mills and wife Virginia of Estill Springs, TN, sisters-in-law Opal Mills and Jeanne Mills both of Fayetteville, Several nieces and nephews who were very special and the Logan Family. She was preceded in death by her husband Rutledge Logan, parents Willie Joe and Callie Mills, sister Viola Stevenson and two brothers Willie Joe Mills, Jr and Douglas Mills.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening 4-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Margaret Young

Visitation for Mrs. Margaret C. Young, age 86 of Huntsville, AL, will be Tuesday afternoon from 4-5:30 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

A native of Lincoln County she was a beautician and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons Tim Young of Huntsville, AL and Kurt Young of Baton Rouge, LA, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Alice Marie Norris

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Marie Norris, age 76, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Sunday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Campbell cemetery beside her husband Robert Lewis Norris who died in 1976. Mrs. Norris passed away Thursday September 3, 2009 in Huntsville Hospital.

She was a native of Madison County, AL and the daughter of the late Etmon Price and Beulah Zumbro Keith. Mrs. Norris was a homemaker, former employee of Lincoln County School System and a member of the Park City Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons Robert Lewis Norris, Jr and Nelson Norris both of Fayetteville and Leroy Norris of New Market, AL, daughter Alice Faye Vance of Flintville, sister Ina May Sullivan of Fayetteville, 7 grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

James Reynolds Ward, Jr.
6 February 1937 - 9 September 2009

Funeral services for James Reynolds Ward, Jr., age 72 of Fayetteville will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside his wife Virginia Counts Ward. Mr. Ward passed away Wednesday afternoon at Huntsville Hospital.

A son of the late James Reynolds Ward, Sr. and Sarah Norlene Rudd Ward, he was a native of Lincoln County, retired from Sears where he worked as a technician, a member of the Masons and Loyal Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son Steve Ward of Fayetteville, granddaughter Cary Ward of Fayetteville, and sister Sarah Ward Rogers of Huntsville. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a brother Richard Ward.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Friday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Jeanne Shephard Cancer Foundation, 3601 CCI Drive, Ste. 10, Huntsville, AL 35805 or First Baptist Church Building Fund, 210 North Elk Ave., Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Christy Michelle Parks
29 July 1973 - 11 September 2009

Funeral services for Ms. Christy Michelle Parks, age 36, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 12 PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Sammie Brister and Bro. Richard McWilliams officiating. Entombment will follow in Prosperity cemetery. Ms. Parks passed away Friday at Vanderbilt Hospital.

A daughter of Donnie Glen and Rita Faye Franklin Parks, who survive, she was a native of Lincoln County and attended the Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her maternal grandmother Lavonia Franklin of Fayetteville and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather John E. Franklin, paternal grandfather J.W. Parks, and paternal grandmother Opal Parks.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Friday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Lincoln County Library or the Humane Society.

James Marvin Bradford
27 May 1929 - 28 September 2009

Funeral services for Mr. James Marvin Bradford, age 80, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Blanche cemetery. Mr. Bradford passed away Monday morning at Donalson Care Center.

A son of the late Avery and Vester Patterson Bradford, he was a native of Lincoln County, a retired farmer, and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his sisters Lucille Billions of Park City, TN and Lora Fay Pena of Tullahoma, TN. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Lona Painter. Those serving as pallbearers are Harold Balch, Donald Balch, Roger Smith, Edwin Balch, John Gusick and Kenny Smith.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8PM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
