Glenn Moore
13 August 1937 - 24 April 2010

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Glenn Moore, age 72, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday at Booneville cemetery with Richard McWilliams and Gantt Carter officiating. Mr. Moore passed away Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Medical Center.

A son of the late Joe Lloyd and Sarah Annabelle Smith Moore, Glenn was a native of Lincoln County, formerly employed with C & T Auto, and retired from Morton Thiokol where he was an instrument tech. Mr. Moore was an Air Force veteran and a member of Wells Hill Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Irene Glenn Moore, daughters Dianne Rozar and husband Mike of Taft and Mary Ann Hard and husband Brad of Fayetteville, sons David Moore and wife Debbie and Bobby “Robert” Moore all of Fayetteville, grandchildren Zach Rozar and wife Jenna of Cookeville, Megan, Brian, and Carrie Rozar, Jason Smith and wife Jennifer of Fayetteville, Kelsi, Sarah, and Hannah Hard, Inneke and Joseph Moore both of Huntsville, great-grandson Jacob Smith, and sisters Joanne Talley and husband Riley of Fayetteville, Sara Steelman and husband Marvin, and Janice May.

Visitation with the family will be from 1-3 PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Barbara (Sullivan) Thomason
8 November 1925 - 24 April 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara (Sullivan) Thomason, age 74 of the Boonshill Community will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30pm at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Medium cemetery. Mrs. Thomason passed away Saturday April 24th at Vanderbilt Hospital.

She was a native of the Delina Community and the daughter of the late E. N. “Ebb” and Edith Crabtree Sullivan. Mrs. Thomason was previously in the banking business and a member of the Cyruston Church of Christ. She was a member of the Red Cross, Lincoln County Farm Bureau and the Boonshill Community Center.

Survivors include her husband Mr. Phillip “Nick” Thomason of the Boonshill Community, daughter Eydie (D.E.) Foster of Delina, son Michael (Cindy) Thomason of Meridianville, AL, daughter Renee (Kirt) Ray of the Mimosa Community, grandchildren Lynn Foster, Guy Foster, Chelsea Thomason and Casey Thomason and beloved niece Kaye Monks of Cookeville and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Boonshill Community Center.

Billy G. Parker
31 August 1927 - 3 June 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Billy G Parker, age 82, of Frankewing, will be conducted Saturday at 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Wright’s cemetery. Mr. Parker passed away Thursday afternoon June 3rd in Lincoln Care Center.

He was a native of Giles County and the son of the late Gill and Louise Owens Parker. Mr. Parker was a veteran of the US Navy and Air Force, a farmer and a member of the McBurg Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Julia Harwell Parker of Frankewing, two sons Mike and Jeff Parker both of Frankewing, grandchildren Heather Sullivan, Holly Parker, Curtis Parker and Crystal Parker all of Frankewing and Anita Forbes of Pulaski, five great-grandchildren and one sister Gene Clark of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by a son Doyle Parker.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 10am-2PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Latinize (Rudd) Smith
15 February 1920 - 9 June 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Latinize (Rudd) Smith, age 88, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 11AM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Barnes cemetery beside her husband Hugh D. Smith who died in 2006. Mrs. Smith died Monday in Lincoln Care Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Tom and Margie Barnes Rudd. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters Margaret Ellis of Fayetteville, Sharon Williams and husband Butch of Fayetteville, Sue Lynn Johnson and husband Jerry of Kingston, TN, two sons, Douglas Smith and wife Mary Jane of Maryville, TN, Thomas Smith and wife Bobbi of Fayetteville, 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Jeri and Mark Whisler, Scott and Janie Ellis, Melanie and Kevin Stacy, Judi and Tony Kirby, Jennifer and Ken Locker and Keri Wells, and grandson James Johnson, great grandchildren Andy and Ben Whisler, Chae Ellis, Kathleen and Austin Stacey, Zack, Ryan and Aden Kirby, Carson Locker and Drew Wells.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 4-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Nellie (Owens) Patrick
7 December 1917 - 9 June 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie (Owens) Patrick, age 90, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 10AM Thursday morning at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills cemetery. Mrs. Patrick passed away Monday afternoon at Lincoln Medical Center.

A native of Marshall County, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late John Oliver and Ezzie Ola Price Owens, was a homemaker, and an active member of First United Methodist Church for 50 years.

Survivors include her husband Wayne Freeman Patrick of Fayetteville, daughters Carol P. Stuart of Dalton, Georgia and Jane Nix of Flintville, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Patrick Young.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home.

Harold Franklin Kirkland
1 April 1925 - 27 June 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Franklin Kirkland, age 83, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Kirkland passed away Friday morning in Lincoln Skill Care Center.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Sam and Mary Kathleen Snoddy Kirkland. He was a former employee of Wallace Saw Works in Knoxville, was a member of the Flintville Baptist Church, and attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Melvin Simmons of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by a sister Katherine K. Simmons, three brothers John V. Kirkland, Homer T Kirkland, and Samuel R. Kirkland.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to your Local American Cancer Fund. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from noon until 2pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

Jimmy Talley
December 1, 1930 – July 20, 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Talley, age 77 of Petersburg, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 PM at the Petersburg United Methodist Church with Bro. Donnie Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard cemetery. Mr. Talley passed away Sunday at his residence.

A native of Marshall County, Mr. Talley was a son of the late John Howard and Louise Crawford Talley. He was an Iron Worker with the Local 492 of Nashville, was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the Petersburg United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Betty Lou Jennings Talley, two sons: James “Bo” Talley and wife Cathy, David Talley; two daughters: Lou Ann Watt and husband Doug, Paula Caldiraro and husband Ron, five grandchildren: Christie Louise Caldiraro, Madison Marie Caldiraro, James Brandon Talley, Daniel Howard Talley, and Jennifer Lake Watt, three sisters: Barbara Woodward, Zella Dunivan and Mary Sue Murdock, and one brother: Joe Edward Talley all of Petersburg.

Mr. Talley was preceded in death by one son: William Claude Talley and one brother: John Arthur Talley.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home. Mr. Talley will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the Petersburg United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the memorial fund at the Petersburg United Methodist Church.

Billy Carl Cowan
13 April 1947 - 11 August 2008

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Billy Carl Cowan, age 61, of Jackson, TN will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10A at Wrights cemetery with Bro. Michael Hall officiating. Mr. Cowan passed away Monday at Laurelwood Health Care in Jackson, TN.

A native of Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Charles and Maggie B. Smith Cowan, and was a farmer.

Survivors include sister Carolyn Tuck of Harvest, AL, uncle John Wilson Cowan of Fayetteville and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home prior to services.

Higgins Funeral Home is caring for the family of Mr. Billy C. Cowan.

Eleanor (Storey) Coggin
14 December 1913 - 10 September 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor (Storey) Coggin, age 94, of McBurg, will be conducted Friday at 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home with burial to follow in Wright’s cemetery beside her husband George Coggin who died in 1989. Mrs. Coggin passed away Wednesday morning at her residence.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Earl and Estill Crane Storey. Mrs. Coggin was a farmer, homemaker and a member of the McBurg Church of Christ.

Survivors include her nephew Dwight Storey and wife Rachel of McBurg, three nieces Shirley West of Winchester, Wendy Bryant of Murfreesboro and Deborah Thompson of McBurg, three great great nieces Abby Thompson, Laura Bryant and Lucy Thompson.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Wayne Freeman Patrick
31 December 1916 - 3 October 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Freeman Patrick, age 91, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills cemetery beside his wife Nellie O. Patrick who passed away in June 2008. Mr. Patrick passed away Friday morning at Southern Manor Assisted Living.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Amos M. and Mammie Cunningham Patrick. Mr. Patrick was a retired Exxon oil distributor and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol P. Stuart of Dalton, GA and Jane Nix of Flintville, TN, sister-in-law Erline P. Patrick of Fayetteville, nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 6-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
