Syble Thompson Jennings

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Syble Jennings, age 83, born February 14, 1926 of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday January 3, 2010 at Copeland-Jennings cemetery at Champ, TN with Rev. Brian Hammack and Rev. Jeff Stovall officiating. Visitation will be held prior to graveside service, from 12-2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Mrs. Jennings passed away at her home on Thursday December 31, 2009.

She is a daughter of the late Ernest Asbury and Mary Ward Thompson of Fayetteville, a native of Lincoln County, and was raised in the Cotton Mill Village community, of which she was very proud. She was a former government employee at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, a homemaker, and a farmer with her late husband Hubert Cecil Jennings. She was the valedictorian of Fayetteville Central High School class of 1944. She attended Egam Community Church and Champ Cumberland Presbyterian where she was a member with her late husband Cecil Jennings.

She is survived by her son Ernest Lee Jennings of Fayetteville, two granddaughters Abbey Barnes of Fayetteville and Amanda Brown and husband Trent of Murfreesboro, TN, great-grandson Jay Howard who she loved dearly, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Mary June Jennings Craig, sister Sylvester Thompson Greene, and her grandparents Jeff and Emma Solomon Ward.

Pall bearers will be Dwight Caudle, Russ Greene, Wanda Dunnavant, Bill Stovall, Wesley Stovall, and Belinda Riddle. Honorary pallbearer is Charles Parks.

Infant James Taylor Campbell
12 January 2010 - 6 May 2010

Funeral services for Infant James Taylor Campbell, age 7 weeks, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 1:00PM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Mueller officiating . Burial will follow in Gatlin cemetery with Higgins Funeral Home in charge. Infant Campbell passed away Saturday March 6th in Huntsville Hospital.

He is survived by his parents Jason and Alison Mitchell Campbell of Fayetteville, Maternal Grandmother Mike Mitchell (Kim) of Fayetteville and Betty Mitchell of Fayetteville, paternal grandmothers Peggy Campbell of Taft, Paternal Great Grandmothers, Faye Sheffield of Huntsville, Maelon and Christine Campbell of Taft, Maternal Great grandmother Avis Mitchell of Fayetteville and Lorene Pirtle of Delrose, aunts and uncles, Ashley Mitchell, Daniel Hargrove, Cody Mitchell, Anissa Mullins and husband Dalton and Kari Phillips and husband Kris and special cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Jack Campbell.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 4-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

Billy Gene Franklin
26 June 1971 - 13 April 2010

Funeral services for Billy Gene Franklin, age 38, of Columbia formerly of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11AM Wednesday morning at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Carlos Beddingfield officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity cemetery. Mr. Franklin passed away Tuesday in Murray Regional Hospital.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Grady and Oma Emogene Franklin and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Elizabeth Beddingfield of Fayetteville, Martha Jane Pigg of Unionville, TN, and Judy Darlene Robinson of Fayetteville.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 10AM-11AM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Horace Luther Dunn
9 February 1930 - 30 April 2010

Graveside services for Mr. Horace L. Dunn, age 80, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 12:30pm Sunday at Campbell cemetery with Bro. Doran Smith officiating. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of services. Mr. Dunn passed away Friday morning in Huntsville Hospital.

He was a native of Lincoln County and was the son of the late Henry L. and Margaret Routt Dunn. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Air Force and was a former employee of Telepower Service Inc.

Survivors include two daughter Susan (Wayne) Webb of Hazel Green, AL, and Beth (Tony) Reid of Bay Minette, AL, sister Edith Childress of Lewisburg, brother Gene (Juanita) Dunn of Fayetteville, grandchildren David (Beth) Harmon, Justin Harmon, Lindsey Webb, Brooke (Louie) Umanzor, Michael and Daniel Bain, four great grandchildren Caden, Peyton, Brinley Webb and Cristiano Umanzor, special niece and nephew Lynn and Randy Dunn, and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, parents Luther and Margaret Dunn, sisters Katherine Jean, Nell Whitfield, Nina Ruth Quick, brothers Garland and Virgil Dunn.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 11AM-12PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Mabel (Gault) Bevels
26 January 1915 - 12 May 2010

Graveside services for Mabel (Gault) Bevels, age 95 of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11AM Saturday at Lebanon cemetery with Rev. Todd Gaskill officiating. Higgins Funeral Home will be in charge of services. Mrs. Bevels passed away Wednesday in Lincoln Medical Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Maggie Hughey Gault. She was a homemaker and a member of the Howell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her son Virgil Bevels and wife Peggy of Fayetteville, sister Sara Dunman of Fayetteville, nieces Shannon Barnes and husband Doug, Linda Womack and husband Harold, Jane Shelton and husband Billy, a nephew Ronald Gault and wife Betty of Tullahoma and a special nephew Billy John Dunman of Fayetteville and six grandchildren Kim and Dean Bevels of Fayetteville and Mike Bevels and his wife Nancy of Fayetteville, Mark McDaniel and wife Lisa of Murfreesboro, and Sandy Devaney and husband Jimmy of Madison, AL and Rhonda Norris of Fayetteville, one great great- grandchild and several other nieces and nephews..

She was preceded in death by parents Thomas Henry and Maggie Lou Hughey Gault, three brothers James, Lofton and Pete Gault and one sister Pauline (Polly) Gault Ayers.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 9AM-10:30AM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Jerry Braden
Died June 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Lynn Braden, age 57, of Nashville, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1 PM in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Russell officiating. Mr. Braden passed away Saturday morning at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Sam and Alverine (Yarbrough) Braden. He was a truck driver, honorably discharged form the Air Force and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Mickie (Singer) Braden, two sons Travis Braden of McBurg, Jason (Amanda) Braden of Athens, AL, two grandchildren Hailee Braden and Ethan Braden, and two brothers Samuel (Ruth) Braden of Taylor, MI and Johnny (Haley) Braden of Spring Hill, TN

Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Cecil Allen "Al" Watson
22 October 1936 - 18 June 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Allen (Al) Watson, age 73 of Steger, IL, will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Boonshill cemetery. Mr. Watson passed away Friday in IL.

A son of the late James Miles and Ruby Lorene Scott Watson, he was a native of Lincoln County, and was a retired certified diesel mechanic with Material Service Corp.

Survivors include his wife Velma Ruth Parker, sons Jeffrey Watson and wife Colleen, Anthony Watson and wife Fanae, and James Timothy Watson, grandchildren Jacob, Tyler, and Carter Watson, and Steven Seeley, sister Linda Mullins and husband Jerry, brother Larry Watson and wife Rita, dear friends Ida Murphy and Rick Sapp, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 11-1 PM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Andrew Almon Posey
20 April 1982 - 27 May 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Andrew Almon Posey, age 26, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia cemetery. Mr. Posey died Tuesday. He was a native of Tuscaloosa County, AL, was employed in the construction business and a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church. Mr. Posey was a 2000 graduate of Lincoln County High School. Survivors include his wife Carmen Haislip Posey of Fayetteville, son Michael Brannon of Unionville, mother Patty Nevels Rucci and husband Terry of Murfreesboro, father Richard Almon Posey and wife Sandra of Fayetteville, brother Mark Posey of Murfreesboro, sister Tiffany Posey of Fayetteville, grandmothers Lillian C. Posey of Fayetteville, Betty Nevels of Huntsville, AL., Uncles Alan Posey of Middleburg, FL, Mark Posey and wife Missy of Fayetteville, Glen Neal and wife Sharon of Harvest, AL, Aunt Carolyn Lewis of Murfreesboro and several cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, David Almon Posey of Fayetteville and Clarence T. Nevels of Huntsville, AL. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Ernie D. Hughey
22 April 1928 - 15 June 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Ernie D. Hughey, age 80, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 AM at the Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kirkland cemetery. Mr. Hughey passed away Sunday at St. Thomas Hospital.

Mr. Hughey was a native of Marshall County, TN and was a son of the late Buford and Nellie Aline Curtis Hughey. He was employed by the Elk Yarn Mills for 23 years, was a veteran of the United Stated Air Force and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Inez McPherson Hughey of Fayetteville, one Step-son: Lannie R. Pitts of Fayetteville, four sisters: Mary Tipper of Petersburg, Joyce Norwood of McBurg, Juell Adams of Fayetteville, and Elaine Moore of Flintville, one brother: Doug Hughey of Nashville, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Mr. Hughey was preceded in death by one sister: Patty Dorning.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5-8 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home.

Martha Christine Mitchell Rose

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Christine Mitchell Rose, age 79, of High Point, N.C. will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wrights cemetery. Mrs. Rose passed away Wednesday July 16, 2008 at Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville, North Carolina.

Mrs. Rose was a native of Giles County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late James Marion Frances and Katie Lou Brooks Mitchell.

Survivors include her husband Willie Joe Rose, Jr. of High Point, N.C., one son: Donnie Rose of High Point, N.C., two grandsons, three great grandsons, two brothers: Jessie Mitchell of Yadkinville, N.C. and Joe Mitchell of Ardmore, AL and one sister: Ruby Hopper of Fayetteville, Tennessee.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday afternoon from 1-2PM at the Higgins Funeral Home, P.O. 119 Fayetteville, Tennessee.
