Rema Jane Copeland
Funeral services for Mrs. Rema Jane Copeland, 60, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Nolan Cantrell officiating. Burial was in Cub cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Copeland died Thursday, Dec. 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a garment factory worker and a member of the Oak Dale Baptist Church.

Born February 6, 1941, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Opal (Walker) White Nolan of Livingston and the late Farley White. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Copeland; a son, Jeff Copeland; and her stepfather, Denver Nolen.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter and son*in*law, Diane and Wayne Peek, Livingston; four stepbrothers, Mike Nolen, Kentucky, Danny Nolen and Frankie Nolen, both of Livingston, and David Nolen, Moss; a sister, Pauline Savage, Livingston; a sister*in*law, Viola Cantrell, Livingston; two grandchildren, Ashley Peek and Amber Peek; and two special friends, Jim and Mary Jo Slinker.

Pallbearers were Jim Slinker, Clifford Cantrell, Joseph Nolen, Josh Nolen, Brian Nolen, Derek Knappenberger, and Dustin Flowers.

William S. "Bill" Veal
Funeral services for Mr. William S. "Bill" Veal, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Clarence Jared officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Veal died Thursday, Dec. 20 at his home. He was a regional supervisor for a laundry and dry cleaning company and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Born October 23, 1921, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Henry Veal and Nina (Farley) Veal Bilbrey. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Veal, Livingston; a son, Freddy Veal, Charleston, SC; a daughter, Sandy Veal, Charleston; a brother, Jennings Bilbrey, Livingston; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lansford Bilbrey, Roland Hammer, Horace Dickerson, Hugh Elder, Percy Hill, and Larry Misenhimer.

Ada Swann
Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Swann, 84, of Hilham, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. John Preece and Rev. Thurman Young officiating. Burial was in Allen Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Swann died Thursday, Dec. 20 at her home. She was a housewife and a member of the Allen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Born June 24, 1917, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Jones and Ica (Poston) Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Swann; five brothers, Clay Lee, Homer Lee, Bynamn Lee, Marson Lee, and Clure Lee; and five sisters, Martha Ida Johnson, Lola Taylor, Beulah Edmonds, Celia Cook, and Rilda Fuqua.

Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

M.J. Robbins
Funeral services for Mr. M.J. Robbins, 78, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Robbins died Sunday, Dec. 16 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He worked at Averitt Express for 27 years as a truck driver. He served in public office, the U.S. Navy, and the American Legion. Living most of his life in Overton County, he was active in war services, church, and a local masonic lodge.

Born June 4, 1923, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Zora (Ledbetter) Brown and Shirley and Nora (Ledbetter) Robbins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Clifford Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice (Johnson) Robbins, Livingston; three daughters and sons*in*law, Jane Ann and James Harris and Gail and J.D. Cantrell, all of Livingston, and Odetta and Tom Ashley, Rising Sun, MD; a twin brother, J.Q. Robbins, Battle Creek, MI; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Homer Reagan, Jerry Garrett, Joe Garrett, Jim Gunter, Bruce Coleman, and Larry Cooper. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Loyd Cunningham, Joey Cantrell, Jason Cantrell, Scott Ashley, Tim Ashley, Mike Coleman, Mike Ruble, Jimmy Robbins, and Kenny Vaughn.

Morris Lee Reid
Funeral services for Mr. Morris Lee Reid, 65, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Zeihmer and Rev. Jesse Bradshaw officiating. Burial was in Eckel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Reid died Thursday, Dec. 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Livingston Lodge #259. He was a partner of Reid & Webb Fertilizer & Lime, a farmer, and Overton County Coroner.

Born January 9, 1936, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Oscar and Berta (Neal) Reid.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby (Smith) Reid, Livingston; a son and his fiancee, Tim Reid and Donna Sweezy, Livingston; a daughter and son*in*law, Libby and Kenneth Allen, Livingston; and eight grandchildren, Sarah Allen, Kenny Allen, Rusty Allen, T.L. Reid, Coby Reid, Katherine Reid, Joseph Sweezy, and Dillon Sweezy.

Roy Langford
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Langford, 73, of Lady Lake, FL, were conducted Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, in Lady Lake. Burial was in the Veterans' cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

Mr. Langford died Sunday, Dec. 23 at his home. He was an Air Force veteran, attended barber college in Detroit, MI, and worked many years as a barber in Detroit before his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith.

Born June 18, 1928, in Hilham, he was the son of the late George L. and Ethel (Boles) Langford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harley Langford; and a sister, Zella Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Langford, Lady Lake; two sons, Joe Langford and Stephen Langford; a daughter, Carol Cassidy; a brother, Bill Langford, Livingston; a brother*in*law, Aubry Allen, Hilham; and eight grandchildren, Patrick Langford, Chris Langford, Diarma Cassidy, Mike Cassidy, Kevin Cassidy, Stephen Cassidy, Sarah Langford, and Jessica Langford.

Audie E. Endsley
Funeral services for Mrs. Audie E. Endsley, 68, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, from United Penecostal Church of Livingston with Paul Stringer officiating. Burial was in Carter-Bilbrey cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Endsley died Thursday, Dec. 27 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker, worked as a nursesŐ aide in nursing homes, and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Livingston.

Born September 25, 1933, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Chammie and Loretta (Dishman) Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Earl Dishman; a brother Jim Bilbrey; a grandson, Ricky Dishman; and six other siblings.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter*in*law, Leonard Dishman, Pontiac, IL, and Ricky and Ella Dishman, Monterey; four daughters and two sons*in*law, Blenda Trevino, Cookeville, Carlene and Lester McBride, Rickman, Jeannie and Brian Kellogg, Crossville, and Patsy Dishman, Algood; three brothers, Bill Bilbrey and Lee Bilbrey, both of Livingston, and Shirley Bilbrey, Crossville; a sister, Glennis Mansell, Cookeville; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lenoard Dishman, Ricky Dishman, Jody McBride, Jonathon McBride, Eric Kellogg, and Justin Kellogg.

Claude A. Davis
Graveside services for Mr. Claude A. Davis, 98, of Williamsburg, VA, and formerly of Overton County, will be conducted Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Chris Coil officiating. Speck Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Williamsburg Community Hospital. He was a retired carpenter and cabinetmaker and a member of the church of Christ, having served the Livingston congregation many years as an elder.

Born June 17, 1903, in Overton County, he was the son of the late W.F. and Melissa (Peterman) Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella (Gunnels) Davis; two sisters, Beulah and Maude; and four brothers, Sib Davis, Roscoe Davis, Cornie Davis, and Duluth Davis.

Survivors include a daughter and son*in*law, Sally and Harry Puffenberger Jr., Williamsburg; a sister, Delphia Reeser, Sebastian, FL; an uncle, T.L. Peterman, Allons; two grandsons and granddaugthers*in*law, Harry III and Gale Puffenberger, Spotsylvania, VA, and Don and Charlene Puffenberger, Winchester, VA; three great grandchildren, Ian Puffenberger, Owen Puffenberger, and Caitlin Puffenberger, all of Spotsylvania; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Masters, Bruce Barnes, Seth Copeland, Larry Meisenheimer, and Paul Martin Garrett.

Betty Louise Craiget
Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Louise Craiget, 66, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Green Hill cemetery with Bro. Glen Ledbetter officiating. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Craiget died Sunday, Dec. 23 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a medical transcriptionist for Dr. Michael Cox and a member of Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine.

Born November 12, 1935, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Cortes and Ruby (Ledbetter) Allred. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Johnnie Ruth Padgett; and a brother, Earl Allred.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Craiget, Livingston; a daughter and son*in*law, Virginia and Billy Ledbetter, Monroe; three brothers, Richard Allred, Odessa, TX, Gene Allred, Livingston, and Mike Allred, Nashville; a sister, Charlene McMahan, Livingston; and two grandchildren, Andrew Ledbetter and Dana Ledbetter.

Pallbearers were Ken McMahan, Stephen McMahan, Andy Ledbetter, Ryan Davis, Paul Ledbetter, and Joe Stover.

Dennis Edward Breeding
Funeral services for Mr. Dennis Edward Breeding, 33, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 6, 1999, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Lawson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Gilead cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Breeding, a supervisor at SIEBE Automotive in Algood, died Wednesday, August 4, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 8, 1966, in Overton County, he was the son of the Junior Wayne Breeding of Livingston and the late Edith Mairl (Boles) Breeding.

He was a veteran serving in the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa (Richardson) Breeding, Hilham; two sons, Ben Breeding and Dalton Breeding, both of Hilham; a daughter, Tiffany Breeding, Hilham; his grandparents, James and Zora Boles, Livingston; four sisters, Patsy Durham, Butte, MT, Linda Gore, Janie Bilbrey, and Mairlyn Vaughn, all of Livingston; two brothers, David Breeding and Doug Breeding, both of Livingston; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives.

Pallbearers were Frank Pippin, Philip Nash, J. Kevin Reagon, Michael Bilbrey, Scott Vaughn, Chuck Williams, Mike Swallows, Brian Hawke, and Michael George.

William W. Elston
Funeral services for Mr. William W. 'Buck' Elston, 84, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, 1999, from Southern Hills Baptist Church. Burial was in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens with Ninde Funeral Directors, Garden Chapel, in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Elston, a retired public school teacher and principal, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999.

Born September 10, 1914, in Chickasha, OK, he was the son of the late William D. and Rosetta (Kelly) Elston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Elston and Frank Elston; two sisters, Edna Elston and Ruby Cox; and a daughter, Susan Jayne Elston. He taught in Sapulpa, Tulsa and Claremore public school systems before retiring from Catoosa Public Schools in 1978.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific Theater and a member of Disabled American Veterans and Southern Hills Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Clarice Pryor, formerly of Overton County; and a daughter and son*in*law, Linn Ann and Don Huntington, Hays, KS.

Mary Dodson
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Dodson, 83, of Whitleyville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Bill Coe officiating. Burial was in Anderson-Cherry cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dodson, a homemaker, died Thursday, January 20, 2000, at Monroe County Medical Center.

Born July 4, 1916, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Roark and Sarah (Beechboard) Roark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Cherry; three sons, Ray Cherry, Roy Cherry, and Donald Cherry; and a great grandson, Harley Cherry.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Afton Dodson, Whitleyville; four daughters, Dimple Cherry, Seymour, IN, Robbie Crawford, Whitleyville, Kay Duncan, and Joyce Anderson, both of Indianapolis, IN; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Stella Garrett Hargis
Funeral services for Mrs. Stella (Garrett) Hargis, 81, of Battle Creek, MI, and formerly of Crawford, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2000, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Clayton Padgett officiating. Burial will be in Honey Springs cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hargis, a homemaker, died Sunday, January 23, 2000, at Mercy Pavilion in Battle Creek, MI.

Born October 13, 1918, in Crawford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Smith) Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vince Hargis; two sisters, Pauline Cooper and Etta Smith; and three brothers, Clouie Garrett, Cecil Garrett, and Junior Garrett.

Survivors include a son, Steve Hargis, Battle Creek, MI; two step*sisters, Mary Ellen Louise Polson, and Louise Wyatt, both of Crossville; a step*brother, Milford Cannon, Crossville; a brother*in*law and sister*in*law, Kermit and Cecile Hargis, Monterey; and two grandchildren, Julie Smith, Battle Creek, MI, and Steven Hargis, East Leroy, MI.
