Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Jones, 78, of Monterey, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2000, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Jerry Harris and Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Burial was in Sand Springs Memorial Gardens with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Jones, a retired Ely-Walker employee, died Saturday, January 22, 2000, at the Standing Stone Health Care Center in Monterey.

Born August 14, 1921, in Hilham, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Laura (Sebers) Reels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William 'Fisher' Jones; and a daughter, Dorothy Farley.

She was a member of the Monterey Church of God of Prophecy.

urvivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Joanne Jones, Hanging Limb, James and Brenda Jones, Monterey, and Tom and Darlene Jones, Cookeville; a daughter, Elizabeth Copeland, Glade Creek Community; a sister, Nina Marlow, Cookeville; a brother, Mike Reels, Sparta; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Juanita Gladys (Bennett) Moore
Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Gladys (Bennett) Moore, 81, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2000, from the chapel of Rickman Funeral Home with Jackie Wheeler and Dolan Rodgers officiating. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Rickman Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Born August 8, 1918, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Luther V. and Ada (Lee) Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlon Moore, and a brother, Cecil Bennett.

Mrs. Moore, a housewife, was a member of the Dodson's Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elise Webb, Satellite Beach, FL, and Madaline and Paul Livingston, Daleville, IN; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Geneva Bennett, Livingston, and Rellon and Ann Bennett, Oxford, OH, Paul and Eudean Moore, Cookeville; two sisters-in-law, Jewel Livingston, Anderson, IN; and Pauline Bennett, Cookeville; and a nephew and niece, Rodger and Brenda Moore, Dry Hollow community in Rickman.

Pallbearers were Robert Moore, Ralph Moore, Wade Paul, Randell Graham, Bill Steele, and Ronnie Bennett.

Loyd Williams
Funeral services for Mr. Loyd Williams, 85, of Cookeville, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Self officiating. Burial was in Browns Mill cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Williams, a retired carpenter, died Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born September 3, 1914, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Willie and Mary Jane (Reed) Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viris Williams; a sister, Covie Harris; and three brother, Clure Williams, Zinia Williams, and Boney Williams.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Aris and Wanda Williams, Cookeville, and Harold and Mary Alice Williams, Algood; a daughter and son-in-law, Paunie and Jerry Reeves, Baxter; a brother, Earl Williams, Algood; a sister, Allie Moody, Overton County; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Clio Richardson Long
Funeral services for Mrs. Clio (Richardson) Long, 95, of Gainesboro, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, January 26, 2000, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Comer McGuire officiating. Burial will be in John L. Clark Memorial cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Long, a retired factory worker, died Monday, January 24, 2000, at Cumberland River Hospital North in Celina.

Born March 6, 1904, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Mollie (Haliburton) Richardson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud L. Long.

She was a member of the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Earnest and Olene Long, Gainesboro; two grandsons, Jerry Long, Livingston, and Tim Long, Cookeville; two great grandchildren, Andrew Long and Megan Long; and several nieces and nephews.

Martha Evelyn McCoin
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Evelyn McCoin, 92, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2000, from Hilham Church of Christ with Bro. Ronald Strong and Bro. Paul Roberts officiating. Burial was in Rob Draper Memorial cemetery in Gainesboro with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. McCoin, a housewife, died Thursday, January 20, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born February 28, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Sally Elizabeth (Rich) Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben H. McCoin Sr. She was a member of Hilham Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Reuben H. McCoin, Caruthersville, MO, Harold Douglas 'Doug' McCoin, and Bobby Dan McCoin, both of Livingston; a daughter, Charlene Kozy, Nashville; a sister, Richmond Brown, Gainesboro; nine granchildren, Karen Lynn McCoin, Jennifer McCoin, both of Lafayette, Deborah Lynn Hayden, Caruthersville, MO, Billy G. Johnson, Allan Johnson, both of Nashville, Danny McCoin, Johnny McCoin, both of Livingston, Kathleen Fennesey, Lebanon, and Rita McCoin, Covington, GA; and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Christopher Holland, Danny McCoin, Johnny McCoin, Allan Johnson, Billy G. Johnson, Joy Hayden, and Steve Kozy.

Sol G. Norris
Funeral services for Mr. Sol G. Norris, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch and Rev. Eugene McCowan officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Norris, a mail carrier, died Saturday, January 22, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born June 19, 1919, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Porter and Sallie (Ledbetter) Norris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie (Walker) Norris.

He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church and a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Norris, Judy Stacey, both of Livingston, and Ann Colecchia, Adrian, MI; two sisters, Evelyn Walker, Cookeville, and Laura Ledford, Alpine; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were members of the VFW.

Christy Smith Reagan
Funeral services for Mrs. Christy (Smith) Reagan, 29, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. George Nave, Pastor Greg Watson, and Pastor Bob Adams officiating. Burial was in Bethel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, an auto factory worker, died Monday, January 17, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born April 18, 1970, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Louis Smith, Allons, and Norma Veachel Boles Smith, Cookeville.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Timmy Reagan, Allons; a brother, Donald Louis Smith, Cookeville; a sister, Amanda (Smith) Scott, Cookeville; three nephews, Brett Smith, Allons, Brandon Threet, Cookeville, and Jerry Aaron Threet, Hilham; a niece, Ashley Smith, Independence community, and a grandmother, Gertrude Boles, Cookeville.

James Clifford Abbott
Funeral services for Mr. James Clifford Abbott, 64, of Anderson, IN, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2000, from the chapel of the Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service of Anderson, IN. Burial was in the Saunders cemetery in Daleville, IN, with Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Abbott, a construction laborer, died November 29, 2000, at the St. John's Medical Center in Anderson, IN.

Born April 17, 1936, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Laken L. and Laney E. (Ruble) Abbott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Abbott.

He was a member of the Laborer's Local #1112 Union in Munice, IN, Fall Creek Conservation Club, and N.R.A.

Survivors include his wife, Jessann (Phillips) Abbott, Anderson, IN; a daughter, Durinda M. Abbott, Anderson, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Tamra Abbott, Frankton, IN; an adopted son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Kim Knight and their son Jonathon, Anderson, IN; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Posey and Mary Abbott and J.T. and Betty Abbott, all of Livingston; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Rosie Arney, Eula Adams, and O.V. and Cormel Morrow, all of Livingston; eight grandchildren, Amanda Abbott, Wendy Abbott, Hailey Abbott, Emily Lawrence, Samuel Lawrence, Marlee Lawrence, Laura Lawrence, and Daniel Clifford Lawrence.

Lisa Marshall Estep
Funeral services for Mrs. Lisa Marshall Estep, 38, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in the Monroe cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Estep, a certified nursing assistant for the Overton County Nursing Home, died Saturday, November 25, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 24, 1962, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Kermit Conner Jr. of Livingston and the late Lillie M. Conner. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug Estep and Kenneth Estep; and her grandparents, Marvin and Bessie Burchett. She was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to her father, include her husband, Mike Stewart, Livingston; a step-daughter, Mica Stewart, Livingston; three sisters, Sharon Patterson, Rickman, Pamela Conner, Franklin, IN, and Cindy Bryant, Freetown, IN; two brothers, Thomas Estep, Indianapolis, IN, and Randy Estep, Livingston. Pallbearers were Jolene Hagens, Debbie Hicks, Greg Whited, Missy Rhule, Jim Crabtree, Anna Ruth Morgan, Larry McDonald, and Mike Sells.

Carrie E. (Sewell) Beaty
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie E. (Sewell) Beaty, 71, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Wattenbarger officiating. Burial was in the Beaty cemetery in Pickett Co. with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Beaty, a factory worker and homemaker, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born September 21, 1929, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Allen and Viola (Hill) Sewell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Amon Earl Sewell. She was a member of the Bethsadia Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Eschol Beaty, Byrdstown; two sisters, Oletha Neal Beaty, Byrdstown, and Wanda Grace Norrod, Cookeville; a brother, Ray Sewell, Byrdstown; an aunt, Bea Wessendorf, Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Norrod, Michael Copeland, Michael Glass, Lonnie Wright, Gayron Wright, and Avery Wright.

Christine M. Scope
Funeral services for Mrs. Christine M. Scope, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2000, from St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lansford, PA. Burial was in Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, PA, with Roche Funeral Home-McNamara Chapel of Lansford, PA, in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Scope, a seamstress in the garment industry, died Monday, September 25, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born March 3, 1925, in Carbon County, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Angeline Arcari. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Scope.

She was a member of St. Thomas Aquanis Roman Catholic Church in Cookeville and Legions of Mary-St. Thomas Aquanis Church.

Survivors include three sons, Richard M. Scope, Livingston, Joseph Scope, Solon, OH, and Ronald F. Scope, Streetsboro, OH; two sisters, Mary Kubica, Lansford, PA, and Rose Imrisek, Montoursville, PA; and a grandchild.

J.P. "Pat" Qualls
Funeral services for Mr. J.P. "Pat" Qualls, 71, of Murfreesboro, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2000, from the chapel of First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro with Rev. Diana Hough officiating. Woodfin Memorial Chapel will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Qualls, a retired regional director for Financial Institution Services, Inc. in Nashville, died Sunday, October 1, 2000, at his home.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carson Qualls; two daughters, Elizabeth Kelmin Tyma, Coltsneck, NJ, and Patricia Godbey Qualls-Hoag, Belleair, FL; two brothers, Myers Qualls, Columbus, GA, and Charles Qualls, Livingston; one sister, Sarah Williamson, Livingston; one sister-in-law, Frankie B. Qualls, Athens; and one grandson, Andrew Tyma.

Ina S. Carr McCormick
Funeral services for Mrs. Ina S. Carr McCormick, 74, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Terry McCloud officiating. Burial was in the Hoover cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. McCormick, an employee in the Diatary Department of Livingston Regional Hospital, died Wednesday, September 27, 2000, at her home.

Born June 14, 1926, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Ova E. Ledbetter Carr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Herman McCormick Jr.; a son, Billie Steve McCormick; a sister, Bronzie Bowman; and two brothers, Ernest Carr and Bradley Carr.

She was a member of Allons Assembly of God.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Sherlene McCormick and Janice and Johnny Bowers, all of Livingston; a daughter-in-law, Connie McCormick, Livingston; two brothers, A.B. Carr, Livingston, and Johnny Carr, Corpus Christie, TX; three sisters, Allie Dishman and Mable Dishman, both of Livingston, and Linnie Garrett, Independence Community; two grandchildren, Jennifer Padgett and Greg Bowers, both of Livingston; and one great grandchild, Alexis Hargis.

Pallbearers were Grady Maxfield, Aaron Maxfield, James Handy, Jeff Hix, David Garrett, and Lewis Davidson. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Royce Ledbetter.
