Lovie Louie Hooten
Funeral services for Mrs. Lovie Louie Hooten, 76, of Celina, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Ronnie Parsons and Chris Rich officiating. Burial was in Lynn cemetery in Gainesboro with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hooten, a homemaker, died Monday, January 10, 2000, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina.

Born February 16, 1923, in Gainesboro, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Fannie (Scott) Crabtree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Hooten. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include eight sons, Herman Hooten, Gainesboro, Roger Hooten, Eddie Hooten, Jay Kieth Hooten, Mavrick Hooten, all of Celina, Steve Hooten, Nashville, Danny Hooten, Livingston, and Frankie Neal Hooten, Lebanon; six daughters, Tootsie Cherry, Livingston, Judy Clark, Winnie Parsons, Dale Short, Roxie Calvert, and Liz Carter, all of Celina; 31 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.

Randal G. "Corky" Wright
Funeral services for Mr. Randal G. "Corky" Wright, 55, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery in Pickett County with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wright died Saturday, January 15, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 9, 1944, in Overton County, he was the son of Clara (Moore) Wright, Monroe, and the late Clifton Wright. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Wright.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a brother, Shirley Wright, Madison Heights, MI; and two sisters, Bonnie Dillon and Brenda Savage, both of Livingston.

Pallbearers were Danny Wright, Tim Savage, Jason Dillon, Chris Savage, Terry Byrd, and Scott Cherry.

Thomas Dwayne Hibbs
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Dwayne Hibbs, 37, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Cecil Shaw officiating. Burial was in Netherland cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hibbs, a computer/printer technician, died Thursday, January 13, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Hospital.

Born September 14, 1962, in Gross Point, MI, he was the son of Leonard Hibbs, Livingston, and the late Wilma Sue Rose Hibbs. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Johnson.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Tina (Garrett) Hibbs, Livingston; his step-mother, Dean Hibbs, Livingston; a son, Chris Hibbs, Livingston; two brothers, Donald Hibbs and Randall Hibbs, both of Livingston; a sister, Debbie Shaw, Livingston; a step-brother, Mark Ledford, Allons; a step-sister, Shelia Lawson, Rickman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Pallbearers were Mark Greenwood, Jeremy Castle, Danny Eldridge, Jason Brown, Mike Hooper, and Jason Wright.

Lizzie D. (Goolsby) Carmack
Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie D. (Goolsby) Carmack, 73, of Celina, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2000, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Edward L. Todd officiating. Burial was in Doc Hall cemetery in the Wet Mill Creek community of Clay County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Carmack, a homemaker, died Tuesday, January 11, 2000, at her residence in the Tinsley Bottom community of Jackson County.

Born January 14, 1926, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Dona S. (Dailey) Goolsby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dalpho Jackson "Jack" Carmack; and three brothers, Lawrence Goolsby, Earl Goolsby, and Fred Goolsby. She was a member of the Hilham Church of God.

Survivors include two sons, Thurl Ray Carmack, Gainesboro, and Jerry Wayne Carmack, Sparta; a daughter, Carol Collins, Allons; six brothers, Malcom Goolsby, Ralph Goolsby, both of Celina, Benton Goolsby, Leland Goolsby, both of Cookeville, Edd Goolsby, Carthage, and Elmer Goolsby, Bloominton, IN; two sisters, Rosa Lee Roberson, Algood, and Earlene Pennington, Celina; an aunt, Addie McBride, Plainfield, IN; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Sylvia Bilbrey England
Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia (Bilbrey) England, 90, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovil Tinch and Rev. Newsome Harvey officiating. Burial was in Ruth Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. England, a homemaker, died Saturday, January 15, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born June 18, 1909, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Maggie (Copeland) Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther W. England; a son, Harold England; a sister, Oda Mae Dishman; and an infant sister.

She was a member of Ruth Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as clerk and treasurer for 18 years and was an active member until her illness.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ina Dean England, Livingston; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Larry and Marie England, Cookeville; a granddaughter, Tonya England, Livingston; and two nephews, Billy Dishman, Livingston, and Leland Dishman, Alaska; and two special friends, Jane Parrott and Kathy Perdue.

Pallbearers were Wayne Peek, R. L. Johnson, Danny England, Estell Bilbrey, Roy Dixon, and Hershel Hatfield.

James Wilker Stamps
Funeral services for Mr. James Wilker Stamps, 85, of Lebanon, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Oval Tinch officiating. Burial was in Miller cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Stamps, a logger and sawmill worker, died Monday, January 10, 2000, at University Medical Center in Lebanon.

Born February 12, 1914, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late George W. and Elizabeth (Rector) Stamps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alpha B. Stamps; a brother, Leonard Stamps; and two sisters, Thelma Bowman and Vola Swafford.

He was affiliated with the Church of God and served in World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Walker, Livingston, and Louise Allen, Adophus, KY; two sons, James C. Stamps, Lebanon, and Luther Stamps, Livingston; three sisters, Mazzell Little, Fannie Mae Miller, both of Ohio, and Lorene Thacker, Putnam County; two brothers, Clinton Stamps, Ohio, and Garland Stamps, Putnam County; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers were Matthew Lynn, Joshua Bennett, Christopher Walker, Jamie Walker, Jason Breeding, Jeremy Hammock, and Chad Breeding.

William H. "Haskell" Carr
Funeral services for Mr. William H. "Haskell" Carr, 92, of Battle Creek, MI, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, from the chapel of Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Morris Anderson and Rev. Dr. Charles Sandum officiating. Burial was in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek with Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Carr died Monday, Feb. 11 at Battle Creek Health System after a brief illness. He moved from Livingston to Battle Creek in 1942. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in France, Germany, and the Pacific during World War II. He was employed by the Eaton Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1972 and served as a member of First Baptist Church of Battle Creek for 55 years. He was also a member of the Shuffleboard Club. He enjoyed gardening, spending winters in Florida, wordsearch puzzles, and attending Burnham Brook and Lakeview Meadows Senior Citizen Club.

Born November 4, 1909, in Rickman, he was the son of the late Millard C. and Emma (Gentry) Carr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle C. Norris; four brothers, Howard Carr, Fowler Carr, Albert Carr, and Kenneth Carr; and three sisters, Nannie Mae Qualls, Carrie Hicks, and Dessie Langford.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William C. "Bill' and Norma Carr, Battle Creek; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Talmadge and Hazel Carr, Livingston, George C. and Mayme Carr, Dunlap, and Elizabeth Carr; a brother-in-law, Coy Carr; two granddaughters and their husbands, Denise and Terry Nickerson, Bellevue, MI, and Michelle and Ron Williams, Battle Creek; two great granddaughters, Leslie Quackenbush, Columbus, OH, and Tabathe Williams, Battle Creek; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Bill Carr, Ron Christmas, Steve Osborn, Bob Quackenbush, Troy Smith, and Ron Williams.

Dow Enson Williamson
Funeral services for Mr. Dow Enson Williamson, 85, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine with Rev. Craig Green officiating. Burial was in the Green Hill cemetery with military honors provided by the VFW Honor Guard of James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Williamson died Saturday, March 9 at Select Speciality Hospital in Nashville. He was a retired rural mail carrier and superintendent for Standing Stone State Park and Norris Dam. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a charter member of Livingston Civitian Club, and a member of the American Legion and First United Methodist Church in Livingston.

Born Feb. 21, 1917, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ella (Crawford) Williamson.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah (Qualls) Williamson, Alpine; a son, Dow E. Williamson Jr., Cookeville; a daughter, Vicki Williamson, Nashville; a brother, Bethel Williamson, Livingston; and a grandson, Dustin Williamson. Serving as honorary pallbearers were members of Livingston Civitian Club.

Russell White
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Russell White, Sr., 87, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Cookeville First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Eisenmenger officiating. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial cemetery with Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. White died Monday, March 11 at his home, following an extended illness. He was a 45-year member of American Legion Post 46 and a World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater, including the invasion of Okinawa, as a sergeant in the 147th Infantry Regiment. He was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Cookeville and served terms as elder, deacon, and trustee. A 1939 business administration graduate of Tennessee Technological University, he worked throughout Middle Tennessee for Nabisco for 37 years. He was a member of West Fork Lodge 648 of Free and Accepted Masons since 1935.

Born March 22, 1914, in Overton County, he was the son of the late James Dillard and Leah (Smith) White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Vaughn; four brothers, Roy White, Ray White, Eugene White, and Ruben White; and a great granddaughter, Haley Jo White.

Survivors include his wife, Opal (Parris) White, Cookeville; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Geeta and Scott McMillan, Sparta, and Pam and Eddie Cass, Franklin; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Tom and Joyce White, Cookeville, and Jim and Joanne White, Silver Point; two brothers, J.D. White, Clarksville, and Jerry Smith White, Castalian Springs; nine grandchildren, Russ White and wife, Linda, Jeff White, Ben White, Scott White, Matt Davis, Sam Davis, Katie Cass, Joey Pratt, and Holly Pratt; and three great grandchildren.

Allison Faith Webb
Graveside services for Miss Allison Faith Webb, infant, of Rickman, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Zion Hill cemetery with Bro. Comer McGuire officiating. Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Miss Webb died Wednesday, March 6 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born Wednesday, March 6, 2002, she was the daughter of Donnie and Madelyn (Laycock) Webb of Rickman.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her grandparents, A.B. and Margarett Webb, Hilham, and Delma and Mary Bell Laycock, Rickman; and a sister, Candace Webb.

Ruby Lee Webb
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Webb, 76, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, from the chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home in Algood with Rev. Gary Lee officiating. Burial was in Paran cemetery with Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Webb died Sunday, March 10 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Methodist Church for more than 50 years.

Born Dec. 27, 1925, in Algood, she was the daughter of the late Porter M. and Tina (Stockton) Holloway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cathy Webb; a sister, Lena Mae Stone; and four brothers, Joe Holloway, Colbert Holloway, Howard Holloway, and Curtis Holloway.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie Webb, Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Al Glover, Cookeville; a sister, Beulah Kirby, South Pittsburg; two granddaughters and a grandson-in-law, Lisa Glover, Cookeville, and Amy and Shane Sewell, Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were family members and friends.

James Bedford "J.B." Reagan
Funeral services for Mr. James Bedford "J.B." Reagan, 64, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, from the chapel of MartinŐs Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Perry Clayton and Rev. Carl Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Reagan died Monday, March 4 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He worked for Overton County Highway Department and was a member of MartinŐs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Born June 1, 1937, in Overton County, he was the son of Dollie (Collins) Reagan of Allons and the late Elbert Reagan.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Betty Reagan, Allons; two sons, Jackie Reagan, Crossville, and James Donald Reagan, Jamestown; three daughters, Vicki Lee, Crossville, Sandy Clayton, McMinnville, and Donna Short, Allons; a brother, E.C. Reagan, Allons; five sisters, Maxine Smith, Cookeville, Ellen Morris, Indianapolis, IN, Pearl Vaughn, Linnie Ray, and Inis Harris, all of Allons; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bryan Reagan, Brandon Matthews, John Garrett, Michael Hamilton, Kevin Hamilton, and Randy Vaughn.

Lou Estelene Nevins
Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Estelene Nevins, 84, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Harold Reeder officiating. Burial was in Fitzgerald cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Nevins died Sunday, March 10 at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Born Sept. 5, 1917, in the NeelyŐs Creek Community of Celina, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Mary (Dailey) Spear. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haskill Milton "Jack" Nevins.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Judith Nevins, Celina; a former daughter-in-law, Debbie Nevins, Cookeville; a brother, Lester D. Spear, Celina; two sisters, Beulah Mae Riley, Morgantown, IN, and Martha Ann Hawkins, Nashville; a grandson, Neil Nevins; two step-grandchildren, Jamie Dailey and Johnny Painter; and a step-great grandson, Cade Landon Painter.
