Funeral services for Mr. John B. Kostelnik, 86, of the Oak Grove Community of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Aaron Dillon officiating. Burial was in the Green Hill cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Kostelnik died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a factory worker and affiliated with the St. John Evangelist Church in Connellsville, PA.

Born September 1, 1914, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph Kostelnik and Anna (Seman) Kostelnik. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha (Sells) Kostelnik.

Survivors include two brothers, Jerome Kostelnik, Dunbar, PA, and Anthony Kostelnik, Los Angeles, CA; and a sister, Marian Harvey, Connellsville, PA. Pallbearers were Brandon Melton, Mark Sells, George Sells, Charles Sells, Johnny Cyrus, Johnny Cyrus Jr., Fred Ashburn, and Joe Stover.

Hershell Uriah Mars
Funeral services for Mr. Hershell Uriah Mars, 89, of North Vernon, IN, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2001, from the chapel of Dove and Sharp Funeral Home in North Vernon, IN. Dove and Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Mars died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon, IN.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Mars, Indiana; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dale and Debbie Mars, Livingston, and Harold Mars, Indiana; three daughters, Catherine Stafford, Doris Hemmings, and Nancy Giesseman, all of Indiana; a grandson, Jeremy Mars, Livingston; and other grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of Indiana.

Francis Jones
Funeral services for Mrs. Francis Jones, 55, of Monterey, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Tony Barnett officiating. Burial was in the Hanging Limb cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Jones died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at her home in Monterey. She was a factory worker at Livingston Shirt Factory, Ely Walker, Darbo, and Adams USA, and a member of the Monterey 1st Freewill Baptist Church.

Born November 19, 1945, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late D.E. "Bone" and Lucy (Wilburn) Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Gregory Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Jones, Monterey; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Andy Ryan, Cookeville; and four grandchildren, Rachel, Ronnie, Richard, and Rebecca.

Ona May Holt
Funeral services for Mrs. Ona May Holt, 89, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2001, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown with Gary Pruitt officiating. Burial was in the Amonett cemetery in Pickett County with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Holt died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomington Christian Church in Pickett County.

Born May 4, 1912, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Virginia (Amonett) Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Leon Holt; and a granddaughter, Teresa (Johnson) Bowman.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Holt, Byrdstown; four daughters, Juanita Moody and Marylyn Johnson, both of Livingston, and Oleta Barber and Ruby Huddleston, both of Byrdstown; a son, Billy Joe Holt, Livingston; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were Steve Moody, Jared Barber, Dwight Johnson, David Holt, Tim Huddleston, and Joseph Huddleston.

Noble O. Jenkins
Funeral services for Mr. Noble O. Jenkins, 85, of Livingston, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 23, 2001, from the chapel of Good Shepherd Mortuary in South Charleston, WV, with Rev. David Vanhorn officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hills cemetery in Charleston, WV, with Good Shepherd Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jenkins died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a tool and die maker for Tractor Mfg.

Born January 20, 1916, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Walter T. and Ada Erenstine (Garrett) Jenkins.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline (Walker) Jenkins, Livingston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Bob Mollett, Livingston, Shirley Maxine and Don McCarter, Coco, FL, and Delores Erenstine and Joe Walker, Fairfield, CA; a sister, Mildred Gaylor, Weeki Wachee, FL; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

John Lamar Winborn
Funeral services for Mr. John Lamar Winborn, 59, of Little Rock, AR, were conducted at 12 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2000, from Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Burial was in West Tennessee Veteran cemetery with Memphis Funeral Home of Memphis in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Winborn died Monday, March 13, 2000, at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock, AR.

He was a member of Lifeline Baptist Church of Little Rock, AR, and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include a brother, Larry Michael Winborn, Livingston; and five sisters, Ruth Ann Winborn, Orlando, FL, Nancy Chase, Rosemary Winborn, both of Memphis, Billie Miller, Colliersville, and Lana Walton, Walls, MS.

Felix C. Ogletree
Funeral services for Mr. Felix C. Ogletree, 85, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham and Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ogletree, an employee of the City of Livingston Water and Gas Department, died Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born November 12, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Elbert Bedford and Julia Ann Rose Ogletree. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an elder at the Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Ogletree, Livingston; three sons, Don Ogletree and Mike Ogletree, both of Livingston, and Buddy Ogletree, Santa Ana, CA; a daughter, Kathy Winningham, Livingston; two brothers, Dale Ogletree and Speck Ogletree, both of Livingston; two sisters, Jean Hunter and Joyce Smith, both of Livingston; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Scott Savage, Casey Auberson, David Ogletree, Darin Gore, Doug Cannon, and Johnny Hunter.

Zula Irene Murphy
Funeral services for Mrs. Zula Irene Murphy, 66, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 29, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Dailey officiating. Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Murphy, a retired factory worker, died Saturday, February 26, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born April 28, 1933, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Lillie Mae (Mea) Richardson.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Murphy, Monroe; five sons, Johnny Edward Murphy, Cookeville, Alan Wayne Murphy, Rickman, James Ralph Murphy, Gainesboro, Billy Carl Murphy, and David Glenn Murphy, both of Livingston; three daughters, Sally Mae Wyrick, Virginia, Marsha Gail Amonett, Celina, and Tonya Sue Reagan, Allons; four brothers, Elmer Richardson, Livingston, John Henry Richardson, Johnny Edward Richardson, both of Michigan, and James Richardson, Nashville; nine sisters, Christine Rhoten, Mary Pennington, Wanda Muir, Joann Richardson, all of Michigan, Judy Claxon, Kentucky, Connie Taylor, Donna Kinnard, both of Cookeville, Edna Whittmore, Florida, and Katherine Danner, Livingston; 18 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Darrell Smith
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Darrell Smith, 67, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 29, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Nolan Cantrell officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Smith, a logger, died Sunday, February 27, 2000, at his home. Born November 7, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ben and Myrtle (Cantrell) Smith.

He was of the Baptist faith and an Army Veteran during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Smith, Alpine; two sons, Ronnie Smith, Hilham, and Kenny Smith, Livingston; a daughter, Donna Burgess, Midland, TX; three brothers, Buster Smith, Cookeville, Kenneth Smith, and Carl Smith, both of Indiana; two sisters, Colleen Taylor, Chattanooga, and Geraldine McDonald, Monroe; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kenny Smith, Jimmy Crawford, Johnny Lovelace, Shawn Winningham, Jay Phillips, and Jim Burgess. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Howell, Gary Allred, and Gage Guadarrama.

Deborah Lynn Loftis
Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Lynn Loftis, 41, of Livingston, will be conducted at 4 p.m., today, Wednesday, March 1, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch and Rev. Cleston Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Falling Springs cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Loftis died February 26, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born August 16, 1958, in Muncie, IN, she was the daughter of Earlene Pennycuff Coleman of Livingston and the late Floyd Coleman, Jr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Coleman.

She was affiliated with First Freewill Baptist Church in Livingston.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her fiancˇe, Kenny Knight, Livingston; a daughter, Stephanie Geesling, Hilham; two sisters, Pat Brown and Melissa Poore, both of Livingston; an uncle, Paul Coleman, Livingston; six nieces and nephews; one great niece; and one great nephew.

Fowler Hicks
Funeral services for Mr. Fowler Hicks, 71, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Masters officiating. Burial was in Crawford cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hicks, a truck driver for the Overton County Highway Dept., died Wednesday, February 23, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

He was a member of the Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Born April 15, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Johnnie and Dora (Carwile) Hicks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ola Benton, Alma Dees, and Norma Hunt, and seven brothers, Thurman Hicks, Roy Hicks, Cleveland Hicks, Willis Hicks, Willard Hicks, William Hicks and Herman Hicks.

Survivors include three sisters, Velma Denney, Lafayette, Allie Vaughn, Indianapolis, IN, Sylvia Hunt, Nashville; three brothers, Howard Hicks and Homer Hicks, both of New Castle, IN, James Hicks, Hartsville; and serveral nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Stanley Thompson, Raymond Crawford, Rick Hunt, Mike Dillon, Grant Mullins, and Keith Underhill.

William Alfred Pritchard
Funeral services for Mr. William Alfred Pritchard, 55, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2000, from Etter Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Brown officiating. Burial was in Story cemetery in Byrdstown with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Pritchard, a past employee at Warner Gear and a licensed electrician, died Friday, February 25, 2000, at his home.

Born December 30, 1944, in Pickett County, he was the son of Jerry Pritchard and the late Mary Elmira (Smith) Pritchard. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include a son, Joel Pritchard, Byrdstown; his father, Jerry Pritchard, Byrdstown; three sisters, Nellie Armstrong, Albany, KY, and Clementine Asberry and Betty Sue Beaty, both of Byrdstown; five brothers, Earl Pritchard, Byrdstown; Amber Pritchard, Dayton, OH, Odell Pritchard, Taswell, IN, Clyde Pritchard, Whiteland, IN; and Lewis Pritchard, Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbeares were Bernie Copeland, Ronnie Pritchard, Johnnie Pritchard, Todd Pritchard, Jeff Couch, and Charlie Asberry.

Beaulah Ledbetter Scates
Funeral services for Mrs. Beaulah (Ledbetter) Scates, 91, of Monterey and formerly of the Crawford community, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2000, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Bro. Glen Goggins officiation. Burial was in Honey Springs cemetery near Crawford with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Scates died Thursday, February 24, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born February 2, 1909, on Alpine Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nancy Jane (Gunnels) Ledbetter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Allen Scates; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred Scates Payton Chancellor, Harry Payton, Mary Pearle Seale, and James Seale; a son, Bobby Scates; and a granddaughter, Martha Payton Wilsford.

She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-laws, Faye and Moody Chancellor, Texas, Dorothy and Raymond Miller, Rickman, and Linda and Donnie Isabell, Monterey; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; a precious group of nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and two special sisters-in-law, Francis Medlock and Christine O'Brien, both of Knoxville. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
