Lela O. Barlow
Funeral services for Mrs. Lela O. Barlow, 88, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. James Sherrill officiating. Burial was in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Barlow died Saturday, October 13, 2001, at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and of the Presbyterian faith.

Born November 9, 1912, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Overton and Elizabeth (Ledbetter) Carr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Lee Barlow; a sister, Linnie (Carr) Sullivan; and two brothers, Laymon Carr and Tipton Carr.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Connie Barlow, Providence, RI; a daughter, Sue Walters, Livingston; nine grandchindren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Danny Walters, Jim Walters, Frank Walters, Doug Walters, Matthew Ruby, and Joshua Ruby.

Milo F. Nelson
Funeral services for Mr. Milo F. Nelson, 80, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville, with Bro. Danny Allen and Pastor Eddie Turner officiating. Burial was in the Algood cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Nelson died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Acme Boot Company, a veteran of WWII, U.S. Army, and attended Trinity Assembly of God.

Born Sept. 28, 1920, in Overton County, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Myrtle (Newberry) Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, J.T. Nelson and Elmer Nelson; and a sister, Eunetta Bowman.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Mae Nelson, Cookeville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Ralph Stewart, Georgia, and Linda and Merlon Haney, Cookeville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Nelson, and Mark Nelson, all of Cookeville; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Demon and Mabel Nelson, Monterey, Z.L. Nelson, and Ken and Sue Nelson, all of Cookeville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Daisy and Willie Hickey, Michigan, and Beulah and Grady Bilbrey, Cookeville; a sister-in-law, Helen Nelson, South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Walter Bowman, Cookeville; three grandchildren, Dawn Harville, Jerry Haney, and Beth Nelson, all of Cookeville; four great grandchildren; and one step-great grandchild.

Vie L. Ringley
Funeral services for Mrs. Vie L. Ringley, 86, of Albany, KY, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2001. Burial was in the Memorial Gardens in Albany.

Mrs. Ringley died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 16, 1914, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Modellia Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Ringley; two sisters, Auda Carr and Stella Copeland; a brother, Leonard Young; and two infant children.

Survivors include a sister, Sarah Ann Gore, Cookeville.

Margaret Elise Skelton
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Elise Skelton, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Whited officiating. Burial was in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Skelton died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a market cashier, a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Civic and Garden Club of Livingston.

Born Sept. 26, 1920, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Palo Goodpasture Dillon and Dora (Norris) Dillon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Skelton.

Survivors include her husband, Alva M. Skelton Jr., Livingston; cousins, Debbie Reeves, Nashville, Sibby Averitt, Livingston, Charles Yelton Norris, Phoenix, AZ, Bonnie (Norris) Allen, Cookeville, Farris Norris Bell, Gallatin, Wonnie B. Meador, Joelton, Della Lee, Hendersonville, Retha Jared, Adophus, KY; and grandchildren, Craig Allen Skelton, Fayetteville, GA, and Monica Eleece Roberts and Matthew Todd Roberts, both of Nashville.

Pallbearers were Billy Gene Gaw, Michael Patrick (Pat) Norris, Charlie Ray, Gaskell Ray, Harlie Jim Sells, and John West.

Dennis Wayne Sells
Funeral services for Mr. Dennis Wayne Sells, 63, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Burial was in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Sells died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was an accountant, a member of the First Baptist Church of Livingston, helped organize the first Little League and worked on the first baseball park in Livingston, Babe Ruth Baseball, member of the Tennessee Tech Review Board for Vocational Schools in the Upper Cumberland, elected to and served on the Overton County Board of Education, elected to and served on the Overton County Commission, past president and active member in the Livingston Jaycees, past president and active member in the Livingston Rotary Club.

Born July 22, 1938, in Overton County, he was the son of Pauline (Dennis) Sells and the late Raymond Sells.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Doris E. Sells, Livingston; three sons, David Nathan Eilander, Livingston, Glenn Curtis Eilander, Rickman, and Gregory William Eilander, Sellerburg, IN; a brother, Ray Sells, Huntsville, AL; a sister, Francis Holt, Livingston; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers were James White, Ossie Mitchell, Billy Sullivan, A.B. Coleman, Bill Davis, David Dorminey, Wayne Brown, and Kenneth Dodson. Serving as honorary pallbearers were David Nathan Eilander, Glenn Curtis Eilander, Gregory William Eilander, Ray Sells II, and Jamie Sells.

Jessie L. Dixon
Funeral services for Mr. Jessie L. Dixon, 67, of the Highland Community of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2001, from the chapel of Rickman Funeral Home with Nolen Cantrell and Jeff Short officiating. Burial was in the Carter Bilbrey cemetery in the Highland Community with Rickman Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Dixon died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a minister of the Freewill Baptist Faith, a logger, and a farmer.

Born June 9, 1934, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Lonzo and Nancy Jane (Harris) Dixon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant sons.

Survivors include his wife, Allard (Hammock) Dixon, Highland Community; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Roger Wilson, Highland Community; a grandson and his wife, Jason and Melissa Wilson, Livingston; a granddaughter and her husband, Jamie and J.E. Ledbetter, Rickman; a great granddaughter, Jessica Wilson, Livingston; a nephew and his wife, W.J. and Pauline Staggs; and two nieces and a nephew by marriage, Jessie Ilene Pryor and Anita and Wayne Dixon.

Pallbearers were L.N. Harris, Jackie Manis, Ordell Dulworth, Jeff Staggs, Jr. Smith, Justin Ledbetter, Gary Walker, and Bill Johnson.

Bobby Edward Bilyeu
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Edward Bilyeu, 70, of Hilham, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Glen Masters and Rev. Tracy Langford officiating. Burial was in the Campground cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Bilyeu died Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was an auto dealer, a Christian, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Born April 17, 1931, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ed Clifford and Dora Alice (Johnson) Bilyeu.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Bilyeu, Hilham; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Christy Bilyeu, Hilham; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Freddie Paul, Alpine, and Denise and James Mitchell, Monroe; two brothers, Bill Bilyeu and Maxie Bilyeu, both of Hilham; and three granddaughters.

Pallbearers were Danny Barlow, C.B. "Shorty" Richardson, Wayne Beechboard, Glenn Smith, Andy Beechboard, and Johnny Conner.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Bobby Dale, Bobby McDonald, Bill Savage, and B.C. Capps.

James Harold Clark
Masonic services for Mr. James Harold Clark, 58, of Allons, were conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Terry McCloud officiating. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery with full Honors Military Service by James T. Davis Honor Guard #5062 with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Clark died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was the current Overton County Trustee, as well as a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Livingston Lodge #259, and a life-long member of V.F.W./James T. Davis Memorial Post #5062.

Born October 22, 1942, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Hoy L. Sr. and Ida Ann (Ledbetter) Clark.

Survivors include his wife, Ann L. Clark, Allons; two sons and daughters-in-law, Darwin and Pat Clark, Livingston, and David and Aleshia Clark, Allons; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Jeff Stephens, Monroe, and Peggy and Gary Smith, Hilham; three brothers, Linzie Clark, Livingston, Walter Clark, McMinnville, and Hoy Landon Clark Jr., Rickman; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gerald Clark, Mitch Copeland, David Clark, Jimmy Clark, Matthew Reeder, David Ledbetter, and Bobby Thompson. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Overton County Officials, Justin Hill, Logan Clark, and Martha Grace Clark.

Oather W. Langford
Funeral services for Mr. Oather W. Langford, 91, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Gore, Bro. James Hunter, and Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in the Holly Springs cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Langford died Sunday, October 21, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired service station attendant, a member of the Holly Springs Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Born April 14, 1910, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Herman and Ollie (Gore) Langford.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene (Holman) Langford, Livingston; a brother, H.C. Langford, Livingston; a brother-in-law, Clifford Holman, Livingston; a sister, Agnes Mansell, Livingston; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Marietta Langford, Albany, KY, and Geneva and James McAlpin, Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.

Mitchell Meadows
Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell Meadows, 72, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2001, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Young cemetery in the Shiloh Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Mitchell died Sunday, October 21, 2001 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ in Jackson County and a resident of the Flynn's Creek Community of Jackson County.

Born May 30, 1929, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Dent and Ollie Dee (Hammock) Meadows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Steve Meadows and Ronnie Meadows; two daughters, Edith Louise Meadows and Sally May Meadows; and a sister, Notie Stafford.

Survivors include his wife, Erma Sue (Stafford) Meadows, Gainesboro; four sons, Robert E. Meadows, Roger Dale Meadows, Bobby Ray Meadows, and Donnie Meadows, all of Gainesboro; a stepson, Billy Joe Stafford, Livingston; four brothers, James Meadows, Junior Meadows, and Tommy Meadows, all of Bloomington Springs, and Charles Meadows, Baxter; five sisters, Mary Frances Meadows, Bloomington Springs, Ruby Manier, Dora Lou Pippin, and Betty Brown, all of Cookeville, and Evelyn Haney, Gainesboro; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Hazel Elese "Bobbie" Holman
Funeral services for Miss Hazel Elese "Bobbie" Holman, 84, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Holman officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Miss Holman, a homemaker, died Friday, August 18, 2000, at the Overton County Nursing Home.

Born October 16, 1915, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Nannie Glidewell Holman. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Shawn Holman, Timmy Holman, Ray Holman, Chris Adams, Jason Adams, and Wesley Holman.

Evora Melinda Welch
Funeral service for Mrs. Evora Melinda Welch, 99, of the Hanging Limb Community, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2000, from Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Richard England and Rev. Billy Joe Hedgecough officiating. Burial was in Hanging Limb cemetery with Horner Funeral Home of Monterey in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Welch, a homemaker, died Thursday, August 17, 2000, at her home.

Born February 8, 1901, in Fentress County, she was the daughter of the late Edd and Penila (Brown) Sisco. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Lee Howard and Donnie Welch; and a brother, Eskew Sisco.

She was a charter member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James W. Sisco, Lynn Sisco, Gary Bowman, Harlan Tinch, James B. Sisco, Mike Delk, Terry Hickman, and Mike Bowman.
