Victor F. Ledford
Funeral services for Mr. Victor F. Ledford, 84, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. John Copeland officiating. Burial was in Jones cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ledford died Sunday, May 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired employee of a lumber company and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Born April 14, 1918, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Elmer and Corrinthia (Jones) Ledford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorain (Waters) Ledford; two sisters, Lourlien McDonald and Lerion Ledford; and five brothers, Perry Ledford, Lester Ledford, Houston Ledford, Dee Ledford, and Lee Ledford.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Sue Johnson, Livingston, and Gale Egle, Arlington Height, IL; two sons, James Ledford, Brandon, MS, and Floyd Ledford, Livingston; a brother, Vack Ledford, Livingston; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lyle DeMuelied, Ed Stockton, Tom Stockton, Randy Gore, Jamie Ledford, and David Johnson.

James Richard Masters
Funeral services for Mr. James Richard Masters, 70, of Cookeville, were conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Glenn Masters officiating.

Burial was in Old Union cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Masters died Sunday, June 2 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith.

Born October 1, 1931, in Indiana, he was the son of the late Herman Pedigroo and Zula Maude Masters.

Survivors include his wife, Elese Masters, Poplar Springs Community; three sons, Jeff Masters, Murfreesboro, Roger Masters, Livingston, and Donald Edmonds, Cookeville; eight daughters, Carol Gentry Murfreesboro, Joyce Hammock, Kim Arney, and Judy Thrasher, all of Livingston, Dimple Dodson and Lechya Edmonds, both of Cookeville, and Dorothy Clark and Shirley Lee, both of Boca Raton, FL; 22 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Brad Gentry, Bobby Masters, Phillip Burchett, James Key, Jonathan Bilbrey, Josh Masters, Frank Dodson, and Frenando Rodriquez.

Katherine (Moore) Morgan
Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine (Moore) Morgan, 92, of Hilham, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, from Poplar Springs Baptist Church in the Poplar Springs Community of Overton County with Bro. H.S. Brown and Bro. Harlon Johnson officiating. Burial was in Poplar Springs cemetery with Anderson Funeral Home of Gainesboro in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Morgan died Tuesday, May 28 at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina. She was a homemaker, a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a resident of the New Hope Community of Jackson County.

Born January 1, 1910, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Florence (Moody) Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester C. Morgan.

Survivors include seven sons, James Morgan, Austin Morgan, and Donald Morgan, all of Hilham, Cecil Morgan and Billy Morgan, both of Michigan, Robert Morgan, Lynchburg, and Clay Morgan, Cottontown; three daughters, Linda Morgan, Hilham, Maggie Dailey, Cookeville, and Louise Collins, Gallatin; a sister, Lucille Bromley, Kentucky; 23 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Victor Ray Padgett
Funeral services for Mr. Victor Ray Padgett, 77, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002, from Bethsaida Christian Church with Clayton Padgett and Kelly Hull officiating. Burial was in Sylvester Robbins cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Padgett died Sunday, May 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and a member of Bethsaida Christian Church.

Born July 25, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Will and Ollie (McDonald) Padgett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Vicky Padgett; three sisters, Hallie Brown, Vechel McDonald, and Vallie Robbins; and three brothers, Clifford Padgett, Wood Padgett, and Claude Padgett.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Jerry Flowers, Linda and Mickey Massey, and Sandy and Lonnie Conner, all of Monroe, and Jean and Edward Walker, Livingston; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry and Janet Padgett, Livingston, Denny and Debbie Padgett, Cookeville, and Doug Padgett, Monroe; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; special friend, Ulyses Rodriguez, Nashville; and many more relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Jeff Flowers, Jimmy Conner, Ben Conner, John Padgett, Junior Hawkins, and James Frogge.

Hettie Olene Ridge
Funeral services for Mrs. Hettie Olene Ridge, 76, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. A.J. Cox officiating.

Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Ridge died Thursday, May 30 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a factory worker and member of Riverside Church of Christ in Celina.

Born July 9, 1925, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Lannie J. and Montie E. (Burchett) Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ridge; and two brothers, Vadus Bilbrey and James Bilbrey.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Odle, Muncie, IN, and Judy Graves, Tompkinsville, KY; three sisters, Robbie Reagan, Livingston, and Ilene Massingille and Ina Mary Gunnels, both of Allons; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Ernest Seemann
Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Seemann Jr., 83, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Father Peter Coffey officiating. Burial was in Honey Springs cemetery with full military honors conducted by Veterans Honor Guard. Goff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Seemann died Thursday, May 30 at Master Health Care Center in Algood. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville, a retired bartender, and a World War II Army veteran.

Born July 5, 1918, in Lyndhurst, NJ, he was the son of the late Ernest and Elinor (Endens) Seemann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Oma (Gragg) Seemann; a step-son, John Gragg Sr.; two brothers, Charlie Seemann and Andrew Seemann; and a step-grandson, Jeff Gragg.

Survivors include a stepdaughter-in-law, Claudia Gragg, Tunjunga, CA; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Joyce Gragg, Tunjunga; a step-grandson, John Gragg, Jr., Tunjunga; and a step-great granddaughter, Katherine Gragg, Tunjunga.

Alvin C. Cullom Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Alvin C. Cullom Jr., 66, of Middletown, IN, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with J. David Parsons officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Cullom died Friday, July 12 at his home. He was a construction worker and affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Born March 30, 1936, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Alvin Cross Sr. and Gusta L. (Clark) Cullom.

Survivors include two daughters, Lesia Howard, Thomasville, NC, and Teri Arnder, Lexington, NC; a sister, Alberta Cope, Orange, CA; two aunts, Dortha Neal and Daisy Fleming, both of Rickman; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Angela Gail (Smith) Downs
Funeral services for Mrs. Angela Gail (Smith) Downs, 28, of Rickman, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Short officiating. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Downs died Wednesday, July 17 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.

Born January 28, 1974, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Randall and Joyce Boles of Rickman and the late James Smith.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Michael Downs, Rickman; two sons, Michael Allen James Downs and James Allen Michael Downs, both of Rickman; a daughter, Mika Downs, Rickman; a grandmother, Hazel Smith, Alpine; step-grandparents, Archie Boles, Gainesboro, and Rozell Cooper, Muncie, IN; a brother, Keith Boles, Rickman; and a half-sister, Carrie Swift, Muncie. Pallbearers were Keith Boles, Randy Boles, Johnny Boles, Jimmy Ray Boles, Junior Boles, and Tim Williams.

Albert Burris Hammock
Funeral services for Mr. Albert Burris Hammock, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Old Union cemetery in Hilham with military honors conducted by James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062. Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hammock died Tuesday, July 16 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a construction worker and of the Baptist faith. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.

Born September 17, 1921, in Overton County, he was the son of the late George and Louvenia (Neely) Hammock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Hammock.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hammock, Livingston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Mark Wagner, Raleigh, NC, Doris and Gilbert Ramsey, Westland, MI, and Denise and Owen Traynor, Australia; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Mona Hammock, Jacksonville, NC; a sister, Enoie Coffman, Centralia, WA; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers were members of James. T. Davis Memorial VFW Post 5062 of Livingston.

Betty Irene Roach
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Irene Roach, 74, of Celina, were conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2002, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Bill Threet officiating. Burial was in Fitzgerald cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Roach died Monday, July 15 at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina. She was a factory worker at Crotty Corporation and a member of Celina Church of Christ.

Born November 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John Cloyd Williams and Cora Rosetta Riddle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Freeman "Jack" Roach.

Survivors include four sons, Robert F. Roach, Tuscaloosa, AL, Larry D. Roach and Jerry M. Roach, both of Celina, and Ronnie E. Roach, Byrdstown; five daughters, Betty Jean Morrissey, Susan Nichols, and Judith Rich, all of Cookeville, and Patricia Burton and Cora Spears, both of Celina; a brother, Milton Williams, Littleton, CO; a sister, Mary Westmoreland, Celina; 18 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 6 step-great grandchildren.

Bessie Ann Story
Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Ann Story, 90, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Dee Ledford officiating. Burial was in Story cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Story died Sunday, July 21 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and a member of Midway Christian Church in Monroe.

Born March 8, 1912, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Thompson and Louann (Flowers) Dennis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Oran Story.

Survivors include a son, Donald O. Story, Livingston; a daughter, Ina Ruth Huddleston, Horse Creek; four grandchildren, Cindy Nolen, Dian Burnett, Janet Bowman, and Donna Jean Massengille; six great grandchildren, Angie Roberts, Alison Massengille, Tate Nolen, Tanner Nolen, Megan Burnett, and John Tyler Bowman; and a great-great grandson, Bailey Roberts. Pallbearers were Tim Nolen, Thomas Weaver, Pete Story, David Story, Clinton Guffen, and Kyle Story.

Beatrice "Trixie" Sullivan
Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice "Trixie" Sullivan, 90, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Frasier officiating. Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sullivan died Wednesday, July 10 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and a member of McFerrin United Methodist Church.

Born June 27, 1912, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Cora Edna (George) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bailey Sullivan.

Survivors include four sons, Joe Eddie Upton, Dan Upton, and Joe Sullivan, all of Hilham, and Franklin Butler, Edmonton, KY; two daughters, Laura Bailey, Jackson, MI, and Mable Forehand, Clairmont, FL; a sister, Delphi Dailey, Celina; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

O.D. Taylor
Funeral services for Mr. O.D. Taylor, 76, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in Nelson cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Taylor died Saturday, July 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was an attendant at Coleman's Service Station and worked with Wilbert Vault Company. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the West Fork Masonic Lodge 648 F&AM.

Born March 26, 1926, in New Castle, IN, he was the son of the late Hoy and Lola (Harvey) Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Taylor; and two brothers, Clyde Taylor and Jessie Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Voenado (Stover) Taylor, Livingston; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jim King, Monroe; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Wayne Sells, Jason King, Rod Johnson, Bruce Coleman, Chase Taylor, Junior Stover, William Sells, and Jack Taylor.
