Mrs. Delta (Winningham) Pritchard
Funeral services for Mrs. Delta (Winningham) Pritchard, 78, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2000, from Wolf River Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Tompkins and Bro. Ricky Cross officiating. Burial was in the Pritchard cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Pritchard, a homemaker and factory employee, died Sunday, October 15, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born January 3, 1922, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late James David Winningham and Martha (Huckeby) Winningham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Daniel; a step-son; six sisters and a brother.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Johnnie Bilbrey and Bonnie and Everett Reagan, all of Byrdstown; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry and Virginia Pritchard, Tony Pritchard and Doug Pritchard, all of Byrdstown; two step-sons, Larry and Lonnie Pritchard, both of Indiana; a sister, Dora Storie, Indiana; two brothers, Ernest Winningham and Boyd Winningham, both of Indiana; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chris Cook, Peanut Bilbrey, John Reagan, Robert Reagan, Andy Asberry, Adam Asberry, and Alan Asberry.

Velma Marie Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Marie Bilbrey, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Burial was in the Clarkrange cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bilbrey, a cook at Livingston Academy, died Friday, August 25, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born July 9, 1920, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late William and Angie Nira Pullins Miller.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jennings Bilbrey, Livingston; a daughter, Sheila Dorris, Smyrna; a sister, Hazel Franklin, Grimsley; and a grandson, Nathan Dorris. Pallbearers were Don Dorris, Carl Franklin, Brent Garrett, Shane Monday, Josh Swallows, and Bud Wright.

Jewell Smith Newberry
Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Smith Newberry, 79, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Perry Clayton officiating. Burial was in the Fellowship cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Newberry, a homemaker, died Sunday, August 27, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born June 29, 1921, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Edward G. and Verdie M. Spicer Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley Newberry.

She was a member of the Martin Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include five brothers, Veachel Smith, Bill Smith, and Dustin Smith, all of Anderson, IN, and Loyd Smith and J.B. Smith, both of Monroe; four sisters, Ruby Smith, Lola Conner, and Alma Conner, all of Monroe, and Pauline Heiny Lapel, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Leon Holt
Funeral services for Mr. Leon Holt, 77, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home of Celina with Bill Threet officiating. Burial was in the Fitzgerald cemetery in Celina with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Holt, a retired store merchant of Holt's Variety Store, died Thursday, August 24, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born June 6, 1923, in Hilham, he was the son of the late A.W Holt and Annie (Cherry) Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Comer Holt and Larma Holt; and two sisters, Lizzie Langford and Versie Fikes.

He was a member of the Celina Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Estelle Holt, Celina; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Shelia Holt, Cookeville, and Lanny and Lori Holt, Manchester; three brothers, Johnny Holt, Indianapolis, IN, Buford Holt, Greenwood, IN, and Mayford Holt, Hilham; one sister, Lola Ayers, Celina; six grandchildren, Waylon, Jason, Matthew, Sarah, Samuel, and Hannah Holt; and one granddaughter-in-law, Darya Holt.

James O. Gaw
Funeral services for Mr. James O. Gaw, 71, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville with Bro. Sterl Paramore and Bro. Bobby Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant View cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Gaw, a retired custodian and masonry worker, died Thursday, August 24, 2000, at Standing Stone Health Care Center. Born August 10, 1929, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late James A. 'Jim' and Ella (Hooks) Gaw.

Survivors include Minnie Lafever Gaw, Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Phyllis Gaw, Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Keith Harvey, Cookeville; a sister, Ola C. Brown, Dayton, OH; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Owen and Margaret Gaw, Oakley and Ruby Gaw, all of Cookeville, and Fred and Mae Gaw, Algood; and four granddaughters, Lori Gaw, Rachel Holland, Rhonda Phillips, and Lisa Gaw, all of Cookeville.

Roy W. Gore
Funeral services for Mr. Roy W. Gore, 82, of Battle Creek, MI, and formerly of Livingston, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2001, from the chapel of Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek, MI, with Pastor Michael R. Brown officiating. Entombment was in the Memorial Park Mausoleum in Battle Creek, MI, with military honors conducted by the United War Veterans Council. Richard A. Henry Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Gore died Friday, December 29, 2000, at Hospice of Holland Home Breton Manor in Grand Rapids, MI.

He was employed by Federal Mogul, formerly Rich Manufacturing Company, later Eaton Corporation, until it closed. He then began working in maintenance with Harper Creek Schools for 12 years prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a 1937 graduate of Livingston Academy and served as Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II.

He attended South Side Bible Church and was a member of A.A.R.P. and American Legion Post 54. He enjoyed bowling and gardening.

Born December 14, 1918, in Livingston, he was the son of the late Wayman and Hattie (Bilbrey) Gore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Varga) Gore, and a sister, Ruth Cork.

Survivors include two sons, Frederick W. Gore, Grand Rapids, MI, and David Gore, Sacramento, CA; and seven grandchildren.

Rhea Mary Eads Sibert
Funeral services for Mrs. Rhea Mary Eads Sibert, 86, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Noel Cherry officiating. Burial was in the McColgan cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sibert died Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at Cumberland River Hospital.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Arcot Church of Christ.

Born April 18, 1914, in Burkesville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Wheeler and Minnie (Anderson) Thrasher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eston Eads, and her second husband, Raymond Sibert; two sons, Ray Eads and Samuel Eads; and nine step grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Hettie Eads, and Raymond and Janice Eads, all of Celina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma and Jack Smothers, Logan, IL, and Gena and Jack Clark, Monroe; two brothers, Oscar Thrasher and Bob Thrasher, both of Burkesville, KY; a sister, Ruby Hood, Burkesville, KY; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Marion Hubert Reid
Funeral services for Mr. Marion Hubert Reid, 85, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Dewitt Sampley officiating. Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Reid died Saturday, December 23, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer.

Born June 29, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Dallas and Rose Etta (Crabtree) Reid. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (Mason) Reid; two brothers, Jimmy Reid and Noah Reid; and two sisters, Nellie Reid and Lily Mae Busell.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Lafever, Baxter, and Faye Stewart, Monterey; two sons, Joe Reid and Roy Reid, both of Rickman; a sister, Flossie Walker, Cookeville; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mance Brown, Jeffrey Reid, Matthew Sullivan, Miranda Sullivan, Britney Green, Brook Green, Tim Jones, and Bryan Neafus.

Sharon Rebecca "Becky" Raines
Funeral services for Ms. Sharon Rebecca "Becky" Raines, 42, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Nolen Cantrell officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Raines died Friday, December 22, 2000, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

She was formerly a nurses aid with the Overton County Nursing Home and was of the Baptist faith.

Born September 3, 1958, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late James and Hester (Hargis) Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Murphy; two brothers, Samuel Murphy and David Murphy; and two half-brothers, James Coleman and Joe Benton Coleman.

Survivors include a special companion, Keith Leslie, Livingston; two sons, James Matthew Geesling and Marvin Leslie, both of Livingston; a daughter, Amy Leslie, Livingston; three sisters, Wanda Jones, Akron, OH, Teddy Rose Simpson, Alpine, and Valerie Barlow, Hilham; two brothers, Jerry Murphy and Joe Murphy, both of Livingston; an aunt, Effie Coleman, Allred; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Kevin Abston, Mark Murphy, Antony Murphy, Scott Coleman, Donnie Simpson, and Steve Auberson. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Michael Simpson, Jermy Murphy, Jeff Coleman, Andrew McDonald, Johnnie, Jason Murphy, Joshua Murphy, Jamie Cravens, and Casey Coleman.

Emma Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Bilbrey, 94, of Monterey, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday Sept. 12, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bilbrey died Monday, Sept. 9 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker, a member of Monterey United Methodist Church, and a 1931 graduate of Crawford High School.

Born July 3, 1908, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Vince and Loursey (Upton) Hargis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bilbrey; three brothers, Ike Hargis, Benton Hargis, and Buren Hargis; and five sisters, Anna Mae Crabtree, Dessie Norrod, Edna Hargis, Martha Hargis, and Zola Hargis.

Survivors include a daughter, and son-in-law, Betty Lou and Ray Higgins, Cookeville; six grandchildren, Carolyn Harris, Thomas Buttram, and Bobby Buttram, all of Monterey, Sara Howell, Algood, Donna Robinson, Cookeville,and Kenny Buttram, Sparta; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Anna Ruth Gentry
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Ruth Gentry, 67, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Frank Davis and Bro. Jim Tinnon officiating. Burial was in Dodson Chapel cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gentry died Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker.

Born July 2, 1935, in White County, she was the daughter of Ethel (Harness) Mabe of Cookeville and the late Alvin Mabe. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Everett and Billy Mabe.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Arlow Gentry, Cookeville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Debe Gentry, Cookeville, and Larry and Debbie Gentry, Hilham; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Hugh Ellington, and Darlene and John Overstreet, all of Cookeville; six brothers, Gary Mabe, Gene Mabe, and Jerry Mabe, all of Cookeville, Donald Mabe, Monroe, Homer Mabe, Michigan, and Junior Mabe, Allons; a sister, Joyce Kirkland, Maryville; six grandchildren, Tara Stephens, Beth Gentry, Kayla Bean, Jennifer Hendrixson, Brad Julian, and Keith Ellington; and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Scottie Mabe, Christopher Mabe, Johnny Mabe Jr., Donald Mabe Jr., Dero Gentry, and Kenneth Walker.

Terry Guffey
Funeral services for Mr. Terry Guffey, 35, of Hanging Limb, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Richard Rollins officiating. Burial will be in Phillips cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Guffey died Monday, Sept. 16 at his home. He was a construction worker.

Born August 26, 1967, in Monterey, he was the son of Kenneth Guffey of Hanging Limb and the late Dimple (Howard) Guffey.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his fiance, Julia Read, Hanging Limb; his step-mother, Glenda Guffey, Hanging Limb; three brothers, Dennis Comer, Monterey, and William Smith and Joseph Smith, both of Hanging Limb; and two sisters, Amanda Smith and Samantha Smith, both of Hanging Limb.

Thomas Paul Harp
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Paul Harp, 61, of Summerville, SC, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in Paran cemetery in Overton County with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Harp died Wednesday, Sept. 11 at VA Hospital in Charleston, SC. He was the owner and operator of OTR Truck and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Born September 25, 1940, in Algood, he was the son of the late Willie Clayton and Verna (Whiteaker) Harp.

Survivors include two sons, Kenny Harp and Ralph Harp, both of Monroe; three brothers, Thurman Harp, Cincinnati, OH, David Harp, Knightown, IN, and Raymond Harp, Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sisters, Ann Smith, Nashville, and Ruby Anderson, Toledo, OH; and five grandchildren, Susie Harp, Stephanie Harp, Madison Harp, Brent Lindsey, and Garrett Lindsey.
