Johnny Albert Lee
Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Albert Lee, 62, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in the Maxwell's Chapel cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Lee, a factory worker, died Friday, October 27, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 30, 1937, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Toy and Callie Ellan (Reese) Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Lee.

He was a member of Holly Springs Church of Christ and an avid sportsman.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Staggs) Lee, Hilham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Shirley Lee, Boca Raton, FL, and Ricky and Lisa Lee, Hilham; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Joe Pardue, Kokomo, IN; two brothers, Bill Lee and Luke Lee, both of Kokomo, IN; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Staggs, Don Staggs, Joe Lee, Jeff Pardue, Gerald Carter, and Billy Joe Carver. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Darol Staggs.

Cordell Allred
Funeral services for Mr. Cordell Allred, 90, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Lou Paradiso officiating. Burial was in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Allred died Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired owner and operator of Allred's Garage.

Born March 20, 1911, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Virgil and Susie (Cantrell) Allred. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (Dishman) Allred; a son, Elbert Ray Allred; and a great grandson, Adam Allred.

Survivors include a grandson, David Allred, Celina; a granddaughter, Jackie Danner, Celina; and two great grandchildren, Brooke (Allred) Reid, Cookeville, and Nastasia Allred, Celina.

Pallbearers were Lt. Ray Robinson, Ofc. Gary Garrison, Ofc. Mike Loftis, Ofc. Kent Norris, Ofc. David Slatten, Ofc. Ronnie McBride, Ofc. Malcolm Marler, and Ofc. Danny Woodward, all officers of Tennessee Vehicle Enforcement.

Bill M. West
Funeral services for Mr. Bill M. West, 80, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2001, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. John Whitson, Travis Thompson, and Rev. Jimmy Dixon officiating. Burial was in the Pharris cemetery in the McCoinsville Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. West died Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Gainesboro First Baptist Church and Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Overton County. He was a member of the Tannehill Lodge No. 133, Free and Accepted Masons, in Gainesboro.

Born January 23, 1921, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late William Dillard and Kate (Sadler) West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daffo (Hawkins) West.

Survivors include two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Ray and Irene West, Gainesboro, and James and Fay West, Livingston; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe E. and Joy West, Joelton; a sister, Bonnie M. Roberts, Nashville; four grandchildren and two of their spouses, Randall and Missy West, Angie Castle, Tonya Kane, and Christy and Brian Hill; six great grandchildren and a step-great grandchild; and a special friend, Gladys Cathey of Dickson.

Carson Tinch
Funeral services for Mr. Carson Tinch, 90, of Monterey, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Carson Whiteaker and Rev. Bobby Floyd officiating. Burial was in the Whittaker cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Tinch died Friday, October 26, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of the City of Monterey, worked with the WPA in East Tennessee, and had driven a truck in the Upper Cumberland area.

Born November 26, 1910, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Robert and Ollie (Ray) Tinch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby (Pedigo) Tinch; a daughter, Billie Katherine Tinch; two sons, James Cordell Tinch and Robert Coy Tinch; and a sister, Lealer Matthews.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille (Vanderpool) Tinch, Monterey; two daughters, Sylvia Tinch, Monterey, and Doris Garrison, Anderson, IN; a son, James Tinch, Monterey; two stepsons, Glen Horn, Monterey, and Bill Horn, Bell Buckle; a stepdaughter, Bennie Phillips, Dayton, OH; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

S.T. Randolph
Funeral services for Mr. S.T. "T" Randolph, 76, of Baxter, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2001, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Pastor Fabron Nicholson officiating. Burial was in the Nash cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Randolph died Saturday, October 27, 2001, at Bethesda Health Care Center. He was a farmer and member of the Independent Baptist Church.

Born February 2, 1925, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late William Bill and Maude (Henry) Randolph. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Clouse; and two brothers, John Randolph and Jessie Randolph.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Randolph, Baxter; a son, Kenneth Randolph, Baxter; four daughters, Maudie Lloyd, Livingston, Brenda Hensley and Janie Pryor, both of Baxter, and Emily Pinkston, Cookeville; three sisters, Ruby Dockery, Dimple Judd, and Lucille Jackson, all of Cookeville; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends.

Gladys Howard
Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Howard, 83, of Hanging Limb, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2001, from Hanging Limb Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Jones, Rev. James Phillips, and Rev. Alvin Copeland officiating. Burial was in the Phillips cemetery in Hanging Limb with Goff Funeral Home of Monterey in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Howard died Friday, October 26, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a retired cook working at Wilson School in Hanging Limb and at Camp Country Lad, and a member of the Hanging Limb Freewill Baptist Church.

Born October 20, 1918, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Lola (Sisco) Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Burris Howard; a daughter, Dimple Guffey; two infant children; three sisters, Claudine Moody, Beulah Carrington, and Lula Bowman; and a grandson, Rick Howard.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Howard, Hanging Limb, and David and Carolyn Howard, Monterey; a brother, Bill Phillips, Hanging Limb; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a special friend, Doris Taylor of Monterey.

Monnie O. Gunnels
Funeral services for Mrs. Monnie O. Gunnels, 80, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2001, from Hatcher Hall Christian Church with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in the Hatcher Hall cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gunnels died Friday, October 26, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a waitress/restaurant manager and a member of the Madison Church of Christ.

Born February 12, 1921, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Bedford and Gertrude (Ruble) Gunnels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Wilma Melton, Marine Garrett, Magdilene Conner, and Ethel Gunnels.

Survivors include two brothers, Edward Gunnels and James Gunnels, both of Monroe; a sister, Bonnie Melton, Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Rick Gunnels, Ronnie Gunnels, Scott Gunnels, Chuck Conner, Adam Trundle, and Andy Trundle.

Carlos B. Greenwood
Funeral services for Mr. Carlos B. Greenwood, 58, of Rickman, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2001, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Mike Adams officiating. Burial was in the Lynn cemetery in the Burristown Community of Jackson County with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Greenwood died Friday, October 26, 2001, at Masters Health Care Center in Algood. He was a plumber for Carwile Mechnical Services.

Born June 20, 1943, in Rickman, he was the son of the late Claude Leonard and Emogene (Coffee) Greenwood.

Survivors include three sons, Billy Greenwood and Bobby Greenwood, both of Rickman, and Randy Greenwood, Jackson County; a brother, Roy Greenwood, Jackson County; a sister, Maggie Hall, Algood; and five grandchildren.

Willie "Bill" Mitchell Coffman
Funeral services for Mr. Williie "Bill" Mitchell Coffman, 78, of Centralia, WA, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2001, from Sicklin Chapel with Rev. Larry Meade officiating. Burial was in the Claquato cemetery in Chehalis, WA, with Sicklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Coffman died Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at Rosary Manor. He served in the German campaign during World War II as a Corporal Technician 5th Grade, 83rd Battalion. He was an Automatic Rifleman and M1 Rifle Marksman, and received the Purple Heart, EAM Ribbon with one star, World War II Victory Medal and the American Service Ribbon.

He farmed and worked in construction for several years before working for the Webb Forge Company in Michigan for 17-1/2 years prior to moving to Washington in 1976. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Research Center in 1989, having worked 13-1/2 years, and in 1999, he retired from Fullers Market in Centralia after working for 5-1/2 years. He was an ordained deacon affiliated with the Freewill Baptist Church Association.

Born July 26, 1923, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Willie Andrew and Ollie Elizabeth Coffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; three brothers; and an infant son, Gary Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Martela Enoie Coffman, Centralia; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rod Meade, Centralia; two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Rod and Chris Coffman, Rochester, WA, and Ralph and Kathy Coffman, Livonia, MI; four brothers, Lester Coffman, Donald Coffman, and Paul Coffman, all of Hilham, and Jesse Coffman, Michigan; a sister, Velma Smith, Hilham ; six grandchildren and their spouses, Shad and Hannah Meade, Onalaska, WA, Angela Meade, Centralia, Scott and Darcie O'Donnell, Olympia, WA, Mark Coffman, Redmond, WA, Kevin and Shyla Coffman and Nick Coffman, both of Michigan; and four great grandchildren, Quartney Meade, Racheal Meade, and Grace Meade, all of Onalaska, and Christian Coffman, Michigan.

Carl Houston "Hugo" Dailey
Funeral services for Mr. Carl Houston "Hugo" Dailey, 62, of Sweetwater, and formerly of Jackson County, were conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, from the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. David Chambers officiating. Burial was in East Sweetwater Baptist cemetery with Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Dailey died Sunday, April 28 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith, a captain of the Monroe County Rescue Squad for four years, served in the National Guard, and was President of Lost Sea CB Club. He was the son of the late John and Daisy Lynn Dailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Dailey and Clyde Dailey.

Survivors include his wife, Gale Leslie Dailey; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Rick and Lynn Harris, Fountain Inn, SC, Hope (Dailey) McEachern, Tampa, FL, and Lesa and Glen Shultz and Crystal and Mike Mason, all of Sweetwater; two sisters, Hazel Allen, Cookeville, and Shirley Heady, Gainesboro; six brothers, Bill Dailey, Livingston, Rod Dailey, Greenville, SC, John Dailey Jr., Ray Dailey, and J.B. Dailey, all of Gainesboro, and Jack Dailey, Newport; mother-in-law, Dorothy Leslie, Livingston; a sister-in-law, Pat Hughes, Livingston; a brother-in-law, Keith Leslie, Livingston; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Active and honorary pallbearers were members of Monroe County Rescue Squad.

Charley Paul Phipps
Funeral services for Mr. Charley Paul Phipps, 77, of Rickman, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 1, 2002, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Harris cemetery with Rickman-Hall Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Phipps died Sunday, April 28 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a carpenter.

Born March 23, 1925, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ben and Cora (Norrod) Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cordie Phipps; and several sisters and brothers.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Becky Phipps, Rickman; two sisters, Edna Willis, Monterey, and Velma Phipps, Crossville; a grandson, Kevin Phipps, Rickman; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Paige and Rickie Dodson, Rickman; two great grandsons, Adam Dodson and Austin Dodson, both of Rickman; and a great granddaughter, Madison Phipps, Rickman.

O.V. Story
Funeral services for Mr. O.V. Story, 88, of Monroe, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002, from Beaty Swamp Community Church with Rev. Terry Geren and Rev. Nolan Cantrell officiating. Burial was in the Story Family cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Story died Thursday, April 25. He was a life-long resident of Overton County, farmed, and was the owner and operator of O.V. Story Lumber Company and Overton Farm Supply for a number of years. He served on the Board of Directors for Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative for 25 years. He was a charter member of Beaty Swamp Community Church and an inactive member of Eagle Creek Masonic Lodge.

Born June 13, 1910, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Oscar and Lona Story. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers; two sisters; and a daughter, Fay Garner.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita (Franklin) Story, Monroe; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Judy Story, Monroe; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Gary Cutshaw, Kodak; grandchildren, Gary and Sharon Garner, Murfreesboro, Marc and Teresa Garner, Whitehouse, Craig and Tammy Story, Livingston, Kerri Story, Franklin, and Matt Ownby, Sevierville; stepgrandchildren, Rhonda Hodge and Stacy Cutshaw, both of Dandridge; and great grandchildren, Jacob Garner, Nicholas Garner, Kelsey Garner, Susanna Story, and Sydney Story.

Pallbearers were Craig Story, Marc Garner, Gary Garner, Edd McCarter, Matt Ownby, and Adam Smith. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Board of Directors of Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative and Robert Dudney, Manager.

Lela N. (Norris) White
Funeral services for Mrs. Lela N. (Norris) White, 95, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in White cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. White died Friday, April 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and member of the Monroe Christian Church.

Born July 3, 1906, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Terry Norris and Rebecca (Garrett) Norris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar White; three sons, James White, Charles White, and Troy White; a daughter, Mary White; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Clara Jean Reid, Mt. Sidney, VA; five sons, E.B. White, Johnny White, and Tommy White, all of Livingston, Jerry White, Putnam County, and Billy Joe White, Barberton, OH; a sister, Dean Ledbetter, Livingston; a brother, Tommy Norris, Livingston; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Charles Carter, Daniel Kowalski, Greg Reid, Dennis Rawley, Timmy White, and Sameul Cox Jr.
