Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Neace, 73, of Russell, KY, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in Holly Springs cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Neace, a housewife, died Saturday, October 28, 2000, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY.

Born March 6, 1927, in Whitesburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jonah and Shelly (Stewart) Meade.

She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a brother, Carl Hall, Cleveland, OH; a sister, Cinda Tidwell, Hamilton, OH; a half-sister, JoAnn Oliver, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Billy Meade, Danny Carmack, Jimmy Carmack, Tim Tidwell, Dean Kelly, and Shawn Choate.

Theo H. Brown
Funeral services for Mr. Theo H. Brown, 80, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2000, from the chapel of Byrdstown Funeral Home with Bro. David Carroll officiating. Burial was in Clark cemetery with Byrdstown Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brown, an employee of the Pickett county school system, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born July 23, 1919, in Clinton County, TN, he was the son of the late Harrison and Zetta (Tompkins) Brown. He was a member of Clavary Bible Church in Byrdstown and a veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Amma (Storie) Brown, Byrdstown; a son, Larry Brown, Byrdstown; a daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Billy Maxwell Jr., Hilham; a sister, Gladys Reynolds, Byrdstown; and two grandchildren, James Brown and JoLinda Brown.

Pallbearers were Ransom Clark, George Story, Robert Storie, Bill Storie, Randall Cross, and Robert Dale Garrett.

Ben Roberts
Funeral services for Mr. Ben Roberts, 84, of Monterey, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2000, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Cliff Ingram officiating. Burial was in Hatcher Hall cemetery near Monroe with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Roberts, previous owner and operator of Roberts Grocery and Feed in Monterey, died Saturday, March 27, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born November 5, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Marion and Viola Martin Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Joan Roberts and Burks Roberts; two sisters, Nora Boswell and Mary Boswell; and three brothers, Allen Roberts, Cap Roberts, and George Roberts.

He was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church, a WWII Army Veteran, and has served as a substitute postal carrier.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Yolanda Pippin, Cookeville; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason; a niece, Carolyn Stults; and six nephews, Harold Boswell, Kent Boswell, Paul Boswell, Ronald Roberts, Dale Roberts, and Paul Kim Roberts.

Willie Tinch
Funeral services for Mr. Willie Tinch, 64, of Monterey, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2000, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Davis cemetery in the Dry Hollow Community with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Tinch, a retired factory worker from Nick File in Anderson, IN, died Monday, March 20, 2000, at the Standing Stone Health Care Center.

Born May 25, 1935, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Elmer and Rhoda (Walker) Tinch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Hale, Earlene Brown, and Immogene Monroe; and an infant brother.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Lou (Harris) Tinch, Monterey; four daughters and one son-in-law, Judy King, Middleton, IN, Irene Griggs, Sulphur Springs, IN, Melinda Cornett, Ingalls, IN, and Tammy and Jim Tway, Loma, CO; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Penni Tinch, Middletown, IN; a stepdaughter, Robin Brown, Monterey; a stepson, Hugh Neely, Monterey; two sisters, Barbara Echo, Muncie, IN, Alene Dickens, Cookeville; two brothers, Lawton Tinch, Dry Hollow, and Paul Tinch, Middletown, IN; 12 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and a special friend, Theola Wiggins, Pendleton, IN.

Dimple Marie Gore
Funeral services for Miss Dimple Marie Gore, 68, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. David Singleton officiating. Burial was in Hatcher Hall cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Miss Gore, a garment factory worker, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born August 5, 1931, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Myrtie (Melton) Gore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Baxter Gore. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Bassel and Viola Gore, Anderson, IN; two sisters, Anna Taylor, Anderson, IN, and Linda Dhobs, Union City, OH; two nephews, Ed Gore, Anderson, IN, and Junior Gore, Union City, OH; and two special friends Joyce Bilbrey and Denise White.

Pallbearers were Ronnie White, Ronnie Qualls, Roy Johnson, Doc Jolley, Kendrick Melton, and Terry Melton.

Amanda Dawn Swafford
Funeral services for Miss Amanda Dawn Swafford, 22, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Martin West and Rev. Cecil Barlow officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Miss Swafford, a factory worker with Perdue Farms in Monterey, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Born April 6, 1977, in Peoria, IL, she was the daughter of James Robert Swafford, Cookeville and Ruth Oldham Swafford Belk of Peoria, IL.

She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Gavin Norrod, Monterey; her step-mother, Maggie Swafford, Cookeville; her step-father, Chuck Belk, Peoria, IL; her grandparents, Gwen Mullins, Cookeville, Ray and Lassie Swafford, Livingston, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Oldham, Peoria, IL; and a brother, Jeff Zidek, Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Steven Shock, Mark Mullins, John Johnson, Jay Matheny, Jacob Hendrix, and Jonah Hendrix.

Dr. Bedford Hugh Holman Jr.
Graveside services for Dr. Bedford Hugh Holman Jr., 70, of Livingston, were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2000, at Goodhope cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Dr. Holman, a retired dentist, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at his home in Livingston.

Born November 6, 1929, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Bedford Hugh Holman Sr. and Claudine (Stockton) Holman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Douglas Holman Sr.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church. He was also a veteran of the Korean War, serving in both the Navy and Marines. He was also a member of the VFW. Survivors include a brother, Dr. L. Clay Holman, Memphis; a niece, Diane Graff; and two nephews, Lester Clay Holman Jr. and Ernest Douglas Holman Jr.

Carrie Velma Goodpasture Carr
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Velma Goodpasture Carr, 94, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Loftis officiating. Burial was in Eckel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gore, a housewife, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 16, 1905, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Lora A, (Thompson) Goodpasture. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley H. Carr.

She was a member of Netherland Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Frances Brown and June Evelyn Carr, both of Rickman, and Betty Sue Bilbrey, Sparta; a sister, Lola Gilentine, Glasgow, KY; four grandchildren, Kent J. Brown and Sarah F. Bilbrey, both of Rickman, David E. Bilbrey, Cookeville, and Dale L. Bilbrey, Sparta; and a great grandson, Derick L. Bilbrey, Sparta.

Pallbearers were Calvin Bilbrey, John Randolf, Tom Ashburn, Bob Roberson, Dester Wilson and Howard Miller.

Honorary pallbearers were Ray Austin, Bill Barnes, David Swallows, Terry Webb, Allen Loftis, Rick Waddell, Mike Webb, Bill Ward, and Larry Winningham.

Alice Lurene Boles
Funeral services for Mrs. Lurene Boles, 64, of Hilham, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Sharp and Bro. Rex Boles officiating. Burial was in the Maxwell Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Boles, a factory worker, died Thursday, October 26, 2000, at Standing Stone Health Care Center in Monterey.

Born April 25, 1936, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mildred (Padgett) Boles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Edwin Boles and Diane Boles.

She was affiliated with the First Church of God in Hilham.

Survivors include her husband, George Boles, Hilham; two grandchildren, Jason Boles and Ashley Boles; two nieces, Brenda Ellis and Gail Liebreich, Livingston; and three nephews, Rick Smith, Danny Smith, and Mike Smith.

Pallbearers were Danny Smith, Mike Smith, David Ellis, Steve Ayers, Joe Copeland, and Tommy Grosses.

Estelle Long Taylor
Funeral services for Mrs. Estelle Long Taylor, 80, of Allons, were conducted at noon Friday, October 27, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in the St. John cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Taylor died Wednesday, October 25, 2000, at her home.

Born July 9, 1920, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Vaden and Edna (Kirby) Daniels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Forrest Long and Odus Taylor; a brother, J.C. Daniels; and a sister, Geraldine Davis.

She was a member of the Free Communion Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Arnold Long, Allons, and Gary Long, Cookeville; a daughter, Carol Barnes, Cookeville; two brothers, Paul Daniels, Cookeville, and Alfred Daniels, Sparta; three sisters, Lena Sells and Wilma Riedlinger, both of Algood, and Martha Walker, Livingston; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bob Harvey, Jerry Borden, Terry Borden, Steve Thrasher, Roy Dale Parrott, Steve Seber, J.D. Winningham, and Carson Gilpatrick.

Jerry Paul Collins
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Paul Collins, 48, of Baxter, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Buck officiating. Burial was in the Fredonia cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Collins, a Chrysler employee, died Sunday, October 22, 2000, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA.

Born December 7, 1951, in Michigan, he was the son of the late Robert Defoy and Beatrice Key Collins.

He was of the Baptist faith, a member of High 12 Lodge in Michigan, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include a son, Calvin Collins, St. Clair Shores, MI; a daughter, Angela Collins, Sterling Heights, MI; a companion, Barbara Burnett, Baxter; and three brothers, Leonard Collins, Rickman, Mike Collins, Livingston, and Johnny Collins, Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Calvin Collins, Leonard Collins, Mike Collins, Johnny Collins, Louis Bitto, and Gerald Hix.

Serving as honorary pallbearer was Jacky Collins.

Emma Mae Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Mae Bilbrey, 91, of Livingston, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, October 25, 2000, from the chapel of the Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial will be in the Ruth Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bilbrey, a housewife, died Monday, October 23, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born February 16, 1909, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Cain and Martha Jane (Matthews) England. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Bilbrey; two sons, Billy Bilbrey and Glenn Bilbrey; two sisters, Ruby Eldridge and Alice Bilbrey; and five brothers, Luther England, Walter England, Hubert England, Claude England, and infant brother, Jesse England.

She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Donald Bilbrey, Hardys Chapel, and Melvin Bilbrey, Livingston; one daughter, Marie Carter, Hardys Chapel; two sisters, Hallie Conner, Allons, and Vallie Dishman, Detroit, MI; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
