Funeral services for Mrs. Roberta Elizabeth Copeland, 68, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at McClellan Avenue Church of Christ with Bro. Earl Dirkson, Bro. Eddie Thompson, and Bro. Erman Williams officiating. Burial was in Algood cemetery with Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Copeland died Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a retired teacher for LBJ&C Head Start Program with more than 26 years of service. She was a member of McClellan Avenue Church of Christ.
Born May 3, 1934, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Madgaline (Bohannon) West. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Copeland.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Hobson, Lebanon, and Mary Ann Copeland, Cookeville; a son, William "Bill" Copeland, Cookeville; a son-in-law, Charles Paige, Cookeville; a sister, Mary Catherine Burris, Indianapolis, IN; a sister-in-law, Lovenia Darty, Cookeville; six grandchildren, Rhonda Blair, Derek Oldham, Katina Stigall, Lori Keeton and her husband, Michael, Tashia Neal and her husband Kenny, and Daniel Paige; and five great grandchildren, Jasmine Logue, Tori Keeton, Tyra Keeton, Lyrie Crudup, and Kanazia Neal.
Pallbearers were Michael Keeton, Joe Jobe Derek Oldham, Troy Savage, Robbie League, Anthony Darty, Charles Darty Jr., Clifton Moore, Melvin Peake, and George Hobson. Flower bearers were Shirley Jackson, Flossie Bartlett, Nancy Law, Sisy Lankford, Robin Darty, Wanda McMurry, Odessa Bell, Rhonda Blair, and Mika Gasty, all members of McClellan Avenue Church of Christ Ladies Bible Class.
Ina Ruth Dailey
Funeral services for Miss Ina Ruth Dailey, 65, of Algood, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial was in Nevens cemetery in Clay County with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Miss Dailey died Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was a homemaker.
Born May 25, 1937, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Benton and Mattie (Dunning) Dailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Dailey, Thomas Dailey, and Crodell Dailey; and a sister, Lee Glasscock.
Survivors include two sisters, Irene Myers, Livingston, and Pauline Young, Indiana; and a brother, J.B. Dailey, White House. Pallbearers were Kent Hayes, Randy Glasscock, Justin Hayes, Luke Hayes, Danny Killmon, and DeWayne Killmon.
Charles Robert "Charlie" Daniels
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Robert "Charlie" Daniels, 52, of Allons, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at MartinŐs Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Halliburton and Rev. Perry Clayton officiating. Burial was in Stover cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Daniels died Sunday, Oct. 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a Methodist minister and a member of MartinŐs Chapel United Methodist Church. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he received the Good Conduct Medal 3rd Award, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm (unit), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Assualt Badge, Bronze Star with V Device, Vietnam Service Medal with four campaign stars, and Jungle Expert Badge.
Born July 12, 1950, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Monte Darce and Eula Mae (Garrison) Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Ann Wingate, Rose "Jody" Ray, and Linda Hammock.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jean Daniels, Allons; three sons, Rick Stover, Livingston, Jonathan Daniels, Hilham, and Travis Stover, Cookeville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Butch Sells, Livingston, and Sabrina and Jay Yeiser, Clarksville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Johnny and Dee Daniels, Smith Grove, KY, and Donald "Donnie" Daniels, Livingston; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Billy Raines, Martha and Wayne Booher, and Jane and Ronnie Melton, all of Allons; four grandchildren, Cody Sells, Whitney Sells, and Tyler Sells, all of Livingston, and Hannah Yeiser, Brazil, IN; a special friend, Lee Davis, Allons; and several nieces and nephews. Esta Stewart Fultz

Mrs. Fultz died Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Madison Healthcare. She was employed with E.I. Dupont Co. in Old Hickory for more than 30 years.
Born December 11, 1909 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Ada Ann (Peek) Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fultz; two sisters, Edna Hawkins and Frances Nelson; and four brothers, Cecil Stewart, Canada Stewart, Herman Stewart, and James Stewart.
Survivors include 7 nephews, Loyd Hawkins, O.B. Clura V. McCormick

Mrs. McCormick died Sunday, Oct. 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife, a retired factory worker, and affiliated with the Freewill Baptist church.
Born February 8, 1920, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Arthur and Josie L. (Taylor) Geesling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar McCormick; three sisters, Verble Crabtree, Myrtle Boles, and Lura Brown; and a brother, Bethel Waldon Geesling.
Survivors include two sons, Michael McCormick, Celina, and Gary McCormick, Livingston; a daughter, Kay Gore, Livingston; three brothers, Ernest Geesling, James D. Geesling, and Billy Edison Geesling, all of Hilham; a granddaughter, Sherri Ledbetter; two grandsons, David Gore and Mark Gore; and three great grandsons.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Geesling, Larry Geesling, Roger Boles, Jimmy Geesling, Carl Ledbetter, and Jeff Brown.

Raquel C. Murguia
Mrs. Raquel C. Murguia, 72, of Livingston, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at her home. Burial will be in Los Olives cemetery in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, at a later date. Mrs. Murguia was a housewife and of the Roman Catholic faith.
Born February 18, 1930, in Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Ricardo and Inocencia (Rivera) Cervantes.
Survivors include her husband, Ruben Murguia, Livingston; three sons, Louis Murguia, Mexico, and Ruben Murguia and Miguel Murguia, both of Livingston; four daughters, Martha Gaytan, Mexico, Marie Ramos and Ruth Murguia, both of Carthage, and Judith Kinney, Chicago, IL; two sisters, Manuela Cervantes and Ana Maria Cervantes; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Velva Padgett

Born March, 22, 1915, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Vanis and Ova (Phillips) Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Padgett; a daughter, Lorene Leming; a son, Loyal Padgett; four sisters, Elva Swallows, Delsie Swallows, Elsie McCowan, and Belva Phillips; and three brothers, Destel Bilbrey, Estel Bilbrey, and Vestel Bilbrey.
Survivors include four daughters, Della Norrod, Hanging Limb, Ann Carr, Ft. Alfred Phillips
Funeral services for Mr. Alfred Phillips, 65, of the Mineral Springs Community near Monterey, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Bro. Mr. Phillips died Thursday, Oct. 31 at his home. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Columbia Hill Baptist Church and Green Pond Masonic Lodge 703.
Born December 7, 1936, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Jasper and Dora (Phipps) Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Phillips and Gladys Graves; and two brothers, Lonnie Phillips and Mitchell Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Daphney (Douglas) Phillips, Mineral Springs Community; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jimmy Ray Buckner, Mineral Springs Community, and Diane and Greg Jackson and Sandy and Chris Phipps, all of Monterey; three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Tina Phillips, Rev. Ethelene Gracie Rich

Mrs. Rich died Thursday, Oct. 31 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was the owner of a grocery and carpet store and of the Baptist faith.
Born December 17, 1936, in Allons, she was the daughter of the late Hasker and Dorothy (Sells) Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Marcom Rich.
Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Cover, West Carrollton, OH, and Trish Hartman, Kettering, OH; three brothers, Paul Hughes, Zenia, OH, Willie Hughes, Livingston, and Ray Hughes, Byrdstown; a sister, Evelyn Allen, Gainesboro; three grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Tiffaney Donl (Crabtree) Taylor

Born September 27, 1912, in Fentress County, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Easter (Mathis) Jaynes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Young.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Young, Scottsboro, AL, and Wilbur Young, Thomas Young, and Jimmy Young, all of Monroe; two daughters, Barbara Krispin, Nashville, and Claranell Lancaster, Cookeville; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Wilborn D. "Buddy" Carr

Mr. Carr died Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a self-employed roofer and of the Baptist faith.
Born May 7, 1943, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Sim and Ada (Walker) Carr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Auda Eldridge and Eunice Dale; and three brothers, Willis "Will" Carr, Willard Carr, and Dillon Carr.
Survivors include a son, Randell Carr, Celina; three daughters, Brenda (Carr) Olmstead, Elmwood, Paula Hutchinson, South Carolina, and Ashley Carr, Livingston; three brothers, Dewey Carr and Clyde Carr, both of Livingston, and Jimmy Carr, Monroe; a sister, Collene Eldridge, Dayton, OH; and two grandchildren.

Robert D. Evans
Memorial services for Mr. Robert D. Evans, 77, of Chattanooga, were conducted at noon Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, from Tyner Church of Christ in Chattanooga. Funeral services for Mr. Evans were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. John Cupp and Bro. George Cupp officiating. Burial was in Fredonia cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Evans died Thursday, Oct. 3 at a hospital in Chattanooga. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation having worked in the district and regional offices for over 30 years. Following his retirement from DOT, he continued his career in sales for Kock Industries. An avid supporter of the athletic programs at Tyner High School for many years, he organized the Booster Club renovations at the Tyner athletic facilities in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The football field at Tyner High School is named in his honor. He was named the Times-Free Press Sports Father of the Year in the early 1970s. His tireless efforts resulted in the acquisition of the property on which the Church of Christ Children's Residence and the Martin Boyd Assisted Living are located. He was a member of Tyner Church of Christ.
Born April 5, 1925, in Overton County, he was the son of the late James Anderson and Effie (Collins) Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (Poston) Evans.
Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Henricks, Ooltewah; three sons, Wayne Evans, Orlando, FL, Steve Evans, Atlanta, GA, and Terry Evans, Houston, TX; three sisters, Anna Gilpatrick and Reba Smith, both of Chattanooga, and Ruby Vaughn, Livingston; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or the local Alzheimer support group.
