Clora Young Keisling
Funeral services for Mrs. Clora (Young) Keisling, 87, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. James Edens officiating. Burial was in the Beaty cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Keisling died Monday, March 20, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

She was a housewife, a babysitter, and of the Methodist faith.

Born April 20, 1913, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary E. (Belk) Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Dillard Young and Bethel Keisling.

Survivors include a sister Maudie Hancock, Alpine; a special nephew and his wife, Perry and Tina Young, Monroe; a special great niece, Mary Jane Young, Monroe; and several other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Jerry Hancock, Billy Hancock, Gary Young, Henderson Young, Sonny Reeser, and Willie White. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Gary Fred Jolley, Sonny Parsons, Clay Parsons, and Bob Arnold.

Treva Jean Webb
Funeral services for Mrs. Treva Jean Webb, 69, of Rickman, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial was in the Green Hill cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Webb died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Henderson Hospital.

She was a factory worker at Textile Industry and a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

Born July 5, 1931, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Martela (Poston) Conatser.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse Paul Webb, Rickman; three daughters, Phyllis Stout, Livingston, Paula Baumann, Hendersonville, and Angela Garrett, Rickman; a brother, Jack Conatser, Nashville; two sisters, Floy Conatser, Livingston, and Carlee Duvall, Nashville; and four grandchildren.

Lilly Thompson
Funeral services for Mrs. Lilly Thompson, 82, of Monterey, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Elmer McCowan and Rev. Hoyt Looper officiating. Burial was in the Phillips cemetery in the Anderson Community with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Thompson died Friday, March, 23, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Born March 28, 1918, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Hillary and Sarah Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Thompson; two brothers, William Phillips and Goodman Phillips; and a sister, Mary Media Bowman.

Survivors include five daughters, Martha Swallows, Margie Harris, Brenda McCowan, all of Monterey, Emogene Swallows, Union B Community, and Linda Harville, Rinnie; five sons, Harold Thompson and Goodman Thompson, both of Union B Community, Rev. Harlon Thompson, Clarkrange, Miller Thompson and Dale Thompson, both of Monterey; two sisters, Millie Whittaker and Magdalene Whittaker, both of Monterey; three brothers, Ruben Phillips, Wilmaington, OH, Tillman Phillips, Monterey, and M.G. Phillips, Watertown; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and three special granddaughters, Danielle McCowan, Jessica McCowan, and Crystal Whalen.

Opal Mildred Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Mildred Smith, 83, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001, from Gainesboro Church of Christ with Bro. Thurman Bennett officiating. Burial was in the John L. Clark Memorial cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home of Gainesboro in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Smith died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Mabry Health Care and Rehab Center in Gainesboro.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Gibson Avenue Church of Christ in Gainesboro.

Born February 19, 1918, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Fannie (Mahaney) Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerstle Smith; and a grandson, Greg Smith.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Betty Smith, Allons; a grandson and his wife, Jeff and Lessia Smith, Allons; and two great grandchildren, Jacob Smith and Drew Smith.

Pearl (Winton) Paine
Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl (Winton) Paine, 88, of Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of Union City and Burlington, MI, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2001, at the Burlington Church of God in Burlington, MI, with Pastor Paul Bickel officiating. Burial will be in the Burlington cemetery with Putnam Funeral Home in Union City, MI, in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Paine died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Kalamazoo, MI.

She was a 1936 graduate of Rickman High School.

She was retired from the Kellogg Company and was a member of the Kellogg 25-year Club.

Born June 27, 1912, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late Quitman and Eunice (Copeland) Winton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferris Paine; a sister, Hassie Bigley; and a brother, Wheeler Winton.

Survivors include her son, Douglas and Clara Paine, Kalamazoo; a sister, Jewell Phillips, Battle Creek, MI; a brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Alene Winton, Portage, MI; a grandson, Ryan Paine, Kansas City, MO; several nieces; and her dear friend, Lejeune Struwin, Burlington, MI.

Allie Phipps
Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Phipps, 93, of the Mineral Springs Community near Monterey, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Tony Phipps and Rev. Clayton Padgett officiating. Burial was in the Welch Memorial cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Phipps died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at her home.

She was a homemaker, owner and operator of Phipps Grocery, and a member of the Columbia Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Born November 2, 1907, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Poley and Rosetta (Phillips) McCowan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Phipps; a daughter, Glenale Phipps; a son, Jim Phipps; two sisters, Maudie Smith and Mertie McCowan; and two brothers, Bill McCowan and Bailey McCowan.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Russell, Monterey; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Jeanette Phipps, Monterey; three sisters, Gracie Smith and Jeanie Vaughn, both of Battle Creek, MI, and Lucille Phipps, Monterey; two brothers, Boyd McCowan and Clayton McCowan, both of Battle Creek, MI; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Stella Mary Gentry
Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Mary Gentry, 86, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Jack Gentry officiating. Burial was in the Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Cookeville with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gentry, a retired employee of Model Cleaners, died Sunday, September 24, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born November 29, 1913, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Nancy Bell (Sidwell) Warren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winnell Gentry; three sisters, Bethene Harris, Sarah Warren, and Dollie Warren; and three brothers, Wint Warren, Jim Warren, and Bryan Warren.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth Harville, Cookeville; two nieces, Wilma Polson Wilmoth, Cookeville and Barbara Fisher, Florida; a nephew, David Harville, Cookeville; and great and great-great nieces, Jamie Heiss, Crystal, Kassie, and Emily Polson, and Mickey, Carrie, and Olivia Thompson.

Pallbearers were Albert Thompson, Chad Heiss, Ronnie Robinson, David Harville, Jack Lee, Ralph Wilmoth and James Wilmoth.

Charles E. "Chuck" Hinds
Funeral services for Mr. Charles E. "Chuck" Hinds, 52, of Antioch, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Thielen officiating. Burial was in Fredonia cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hinds, a freight dispatcher for a trucking company, died Thursday, September 21, 2000, at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville.

Born January 5, 1948, in Sparta, he was the son of Travis Hinds of Tallahessee, FL, and the late Illa Glenn Collins Hinds.

He was a Veteran.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Jeannette (Gavareski) Hinds, Antioch; three daughters, Heather Hinds, Lisa Hinds, and Megan Hinds, all of Memphis; two brothers, Samuel Hinds, Livingston, and Roy Hinds, St. Louis, MO; seven sisters, Billie Jean Myers, Gallatin, Bobbie Abney, Las Vegas, NV, Bonnie Abney, Warren, MI, Louise Bumbalough, Lebanon, Glenda Grant, Snellville, GA, Terri Goodrich, Tallahassee, FL, and Sandra Richards, Gainesville, FL; and a granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Tim Jones, Chris Biggs, John Pietuszka, Thomas Wesson, Kevin Mulvey, and Butch Quinn.

Ressie Hughes
Funeral services for Mrs. Ressie Hughes, 88, of Livingston, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, September 27, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial will be in Turkeytown cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangments.

Mrs. Hughes, a housewife, died Sunday, September 24, 2000, at the Overton County Nursing Home.

Born October 30, 1911, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rosie (Flatt) Tharp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Ricie Boles and William Hughes; three daughters, Nora Ledford, Cora Hall and Betty Edwards; a sister, Beulah Coffman; two brothers, Jessie Tharp and Gasgil Tharp; and four grandchildren, Windle and Stella Hall and Beverly Sue and Adam Boles. She was a member of the Holiness Church.

Survivors include a son, Ricey Boles, Crossville; six daughters, Evelyn Sidwell and Thelma Limpson, both of Livingston, Nell Cox, Hilham, Ora Brady and Gracie Beckett, both of Anderson, IN, and Ressie Jackson; two half-brothers, Louis Tharp, Georgia, and Luther Osborne, Tennessee; 38 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Lane and Faith Johnson
Funeral services for Master Lane Johnson and Miss Faith Johnson, infant twins of Mac and Stephanie (Hyatt) Johnson of Livingston, were conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2000, at Free Communion Church of Christ with Bro. Cecil Shaw officiating. Burial was in Stover cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Master Johnson was born Sunday, September 17, 2000 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, and died the same day.

Miss Johnson was born Monday, September 18, 2000, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, and died the same day.

The twins were preceded in death by a grandfather, Rodney F. Hyatt; and two great grandfathers, Cletis Stover and Ray Johnson.

Survivors, in addition to their parents, include their maternal grandmother, Sarah K. Hyatt, Rickman; paternal grandparents, James and Marcia Johnson, Livingston; and great grandparents John and Jane Kirkpatrick, Clyde, NC, Fred and Helen Hyatt, Waynesville, NC, and Vonda Stover and Wanda Smith, both of Livingston. Pallbearers were Jim Bos and Jamie Johnson.

Bessie Velma Sells
Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Velma Sells, 87, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sells, a retired cook of Lady Ann Hospital in Livingston, died Saturday, September 23, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born June 9, 1913, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late E.B. and Julia Rose Ogletree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Sells. She was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Joe Sells, Mt. Juliet, and Bill Thompson, Melbourne, FL; a daughter, Saundra Thompson, Livingston; three brothers, Speck Ogletree, Dale Ogletree, and Felix Ogletree, all of Livingston; two sisters, Joyce Smith and Jean Hunter, both of Livingston; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Rose Lassie Copeland
Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Lassie Copeland, 80, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Clyde Cunningham officiating. Burial was in the Tinsley cemetery in Celina with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Copeland, a homemaker, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina.

Born February 6, 1920, in Celina, she was the daughter of the late Charles Burris and Linnie Goolsby Emerton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Copeland; two sons, William Copeland and Bobby Copeland; and two sisters, Elsa Hampton and Thelma Jo Emerton.

She was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jessie Lee and Jewell Copeland and Charlie Copeland, all of Celina; two daughters and one son-in-law, Hazel Willis, Celina and Anna Rose and Douglas Cherry, Cookeville; six brothers, George Emerton, Charles Emerton, Fred Emerton, and Ray Emerton, all of Celina, Glen Emerton, Indianapolis, IN, and Howard Emerton, Livingston; one sister, Lucy Copeland, Celina; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mrs. Copeland's grandsons.
