Aaron Donovan Frantz
Mr. Aaron Donovan Frantz, 68, of Allons and formerly of Springfield, OH, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at his home in Allons. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Frantz, a retired machinist, was born August 19, 1931, in Clark County, OH. He was the son of the late Aaron Donovan Sr. and Merrel Maines Frantz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a grandson.

He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Allons, as well as being a 28 year member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Staight Frantz, Allons; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Don Frantz, Midway, OH, and Keith and Tanya Frantz, New Carlisle, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gregory Goff, and Wendy and James St. Peter, all of Springfield, OH; a sister, Anna Speakman, Florida; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great granddaughter.

Evelyn Jean Presley
Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Jean Presley, 62, of Cookeville, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000, from Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Bro. James Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Overton County with Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Presley, a cook and seamstress, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born April 15, 1937, in Lee County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ulyes and Minnie Lou (Denton) Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Christine Kimberlin; and three brothers, Baby Morrison, Kenneth Ted Morrison, and James Lawrence Morrison.

She was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church, and a Ladies Auxillary of the church.

Survivors include her husband, Harold C. Presley, Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Lynne Presley, Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Frank Phillips, Goodlettsville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Morrison, Asheville, NC, Robert Ulyes and Scarlett Morrison, Dearborn Heights, MI, and Jackie Lee and Margaret Morrison, Ben Hur, VA; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Helen Sue and L.V. Duncan, Ben Hur, VA, Betty Lou Morrison, Milford, VA, Judy Ann and Bobby Yeary, Sherry Lynn and David "Bo" Cope, and Lena Gale and Larry Bledsoe, all of Jonesville, VA; a granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Presley, Byrdstown; and two grandsons, Seth Presley, Cookeville, and Jaron Mathew Phillips, Goodlettsville. Pallbearers will be Glen Cooper, Seth Presley, Roger Clouse, Charles Kennedy, Jess Matthews, and James Presley.

Gertie Lee Jones
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertie Lee Jones, 89, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2000, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown with Walter Harold Garrett officiating. Burial was in Booher cemetery in Overton County with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Jones, a housewife, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Centennial Hospital in Nashville.

Born March 28, 1910, in Albany, KY, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Lula (Rains) Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ester Jones.

She was a member of the Midway Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Emma Lee Jones, Monroe; a son and daughter-in-law, Ellis and Martha Jones, Dresden; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Carolyn and Mike Freeman; two great grandsons, Joe Freeman and John Freeman; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jones' friends served as pallbearers.

Robert Henry Harp
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Henry Harp, 68, of Naples, FL, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Paran Methodist Church with Jim Rogers officiating. Burial was in Paran cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Harp, a construction worker, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, FL.

Born February 8, 1932, in Cookeville, he was the son of the late Benton Howard and Alla (Whitaker) Harp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle (Smith) Harp.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Connie Harp, Naples, FL; two brothers, Johnny Harp, Hillsboro, OH, and Carl Harp, Mariposa, CA; and a sister, Mary F. (Harp) Long, Harlan, KY.

Dewroy W. Neal
Funeral services for Mr. Dewroy W. Neal, 75, of Tipton, IN, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2000, from the chapel of Porter Funeral Home in Tipton, IN, with Rev. Charles E. Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery in Indiana with Porter Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Neal, a retired employee of Steel Parts, died Monday, February 28, 2000, at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN.

Born November 6, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late James Porter and Sina Belle (Strode) Neal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby L. (Sullivan) Neal, Tipton, IN; three sons, Tom Neal, John Neal, both of Tipton, IN, and Terry Neal, Elwood, IN; two daughters, Mary (Neal) Coar, Greentown, IN, and Sharon (Neal) Tenbrook, Tipton, IN; two sisters, Oma Daughty, Livingston, and Loramae Andrews, Anderson, IN; seven grandsons; three granddaughters; and five great grandchildren.

Alvin Clayton "Sweek" Coleman
Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Clayton "Sweek" Coleman, 71, of Livingston and formerly of the Allred Community, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Coleman, a coal miner and mechanic, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born August 3, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Vince and Celina (Ledbetter) Coleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Floyd Coleman, Walter Coleman, Irvin "Bud" Coleman, Willis Coleman, Harrison Coleman, and Yard Masters Holt.

Survivors include a brother, Johnny Clifford "Bunger" Coleman, Allred; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Paul Coleman, Timmy Coleman, Randall Coleman, Ronnie Coleman, Richard Murphy, and Freddie Murphy.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Howell, Vernon Boswell, Gary Allred, and Buster Smith.

Jewell Swann Dailey
Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell (Swann) Dailey, 74, of Clinton, IN, and formerly of Overton County, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 19, 2000, from Allens Chapel Church in Hilham with Bro. Wayne Langford officiating. Burial will be in Allen Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dailey, a food service employee, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.

Born February 9, 1926, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Rosa (Johnston) Swann.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey Dailey, Clinton, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Glenda Swann, Clinton, IN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Thomas Antonetti, Tinley Park, IL, and Susan and Kenneth Grayczyk, Munster, IN; a brother, Frank Swann, Stickney, IL; three sisters, Tina Haney, Nashville, Wanda Hillesheim and Georgia Rebecca Boles, both of Alexandria; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Willie Edward "Bud" Daniels
Funeral services for Mr. Willie Edward "Bud" Daniels, 69, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral with Rev. Terry McCloud officiating. Burial was in Hoover cemetery in Allons with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Daniels died Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a self-employed drywall finisher and affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Born May 18, 1932, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Robert and Inis (Adams) Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Rayburn Daniels, Elbert Daniels, Merl Daniels, and Roger Daniels.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo Daniels, Livingston; three sons, Dennis Daniels and Anthony Daniels, both of Indianapolis, IN, and John Michael Daniels, Guam; a step-son, Bruce Winningham, Nashville; three daughters, Brenda Friant, Belinda Masters, and Kay Boswell, all of Livingston; five brothers, Eddie Daniels, Paul Daniels, Miley Joe Daniels, and Wayne Daniels, all of Celina, and Bill Daniels, Indiana; four sisters, Betty Jean Riddle, Burkesville, KY, Evadean Long, Kentucky, and Sue McLerran and Louise Raines, both of Celina; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

William Odell Talley
Funeral services for Mr. William Odell Talley, 71, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Glenn Masters officiating. Burial was in Campground cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Talley died Thursday, Dec. 6 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Born June 10, 1930, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Jasper and Sally Dee (Brown) Talley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Talley; and a sister, Mary Jo Poston.

Survivors include a brother, Marion J. Talley, Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Beth Kirkpatrick, Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.

Willie J. Stafford
Funeral services for Mr. Willie J. Stafford, 82, of Crossville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Kenneth Young officiating. Burial was in Smith Chapel cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Stafford died Friday, Dec. 7 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. He was a farmer.

Born December 12, 1918, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Hershel and Maggie (Smith) Stafford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Stafford, Mattie Davidson, and Lucille Garrett; and three brothers, Ensel Stafford, Elijah Stafford, and Joe Stafford.

Survivors include a brother, Johnny Stafford, Cookeville; and other family members.

Pallbearers were Lynn Miller, Ricky Stafford, Charlie Flynn, Keith Martin, Matthew Williams, Boyd Flowers, Louis Davidson, and Charles Davidson.

Mable Nelson
Funeral services for Mrs. Mable Nelson, 79, of Monterey, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Allen officiating. Burial will be in Welch Memorial cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Nelson died Monday, Dec. 10 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker, attended the Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and had worked at ACME Boot in Cookeville.

Born September 4, 1922, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Kate (Brown) Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Cook and Robert E. Cook II.

Survivors include her husband, Demon Nelson, Monterey; a sister, Betty King, Monterey; and two brothers, Jim Whittaker and Bill Whittaker, both of Monterey.

Nina Linder
Funeral services for Ms. Nina Linder, 77, of Pickett County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2001, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown. Services wer also conducted at the Mt. Pisgah Church in Clay County. Ron Harris officiated both services. Burial was in Mt. Pisgah cemetery with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Linder died Saturday, Dec. 1 at Pickett County Nursing Home. She was a retired cashier with K-Mart.

Born June 20, 1924, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Beaty and Cora (Winningham) Fletcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie D. Fletcher and Clurel Fletcher.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Leeds, Byrdstown; a son, Donnie Linder, Byrdstown; two brothers, Norman Fletcher and Cloyce Fletcher, both of Allons; two sisters, Beatrice Taylor, Indiana, and Vonda Melton, Allons; a granddaughter, Tracey Monroe, Michigan; and a special cousin, Dale Reeder Winborn, Livingston.

Pallbearers were Ricky Colson, Mike Winborn, Charlie Leeds, Tracey Melton, John Melton, and Kent Fletcher.

Shirley Howard
Funeral services for Mr. Shirley Howard, 63, of the Hanging Limb Community, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Raymond Phillips, Rev. Oliver England, and Rev. Arnold Murphy officiating. Burial was in Phillips cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Howard died Saturday, Dec. 8 at his home. He was a retired factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Born December 20, 1937, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Burris and Gladys (Phillips) Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Howard; a sister, Dimple Guffey; and two infant brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Howard and Scott Howard, both of Monterey; a brother, David Howard, Monterey; five grandchildren; and ex-wife, Doris (Howard) Taylor, Monterey.
