Dimple Key
Funeral services for Mrs. Dimple Key, 73, of Monterey, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton Padgett and Rev. Eugene McCowan officiating. Burial was in Welch Memorial cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Key died Saturday, Aug. 10 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church.

Born January 29, 1929, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Phillips) Welch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Key; a son, Johnny Key; three brothers, Hollis Welch, Hershel Welch, and infant brother, Gerstel Welch; and two grandchildren, Julie Annette Key and Nathan Key.

Survivors include four sons, Ray Key, Rickman, Tony Key and Wayne Key, both of Cookeville, and Michael Key, Monterey; a sister, Jewell Clark, Baxter; two brothers, Rev. Talmadge Welch and Joe Welch, both of Monterey; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Paskell Long
Funeral services for Mr. Paskell Long, 92, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Wilbur Bass officiating. Burial was in Tinsley cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Long died Sunday, Aug. 11 at Cumberland River Hospital. He was a construction worker and affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Born October 6, 1909, in Livingston, he was the son of the late Elbert and Rosa (Adams) Long. Survivors include his wife, Gladys (Tinsley) Long, Celina; a daughter, Kathy Poindexter, Celina; and a grandchild.

Thelma H. Masters
Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma H. Masters, 85, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Masters died Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and a member of the Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Born August 3, 1918, in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late James Jefferson and Anna Mae Halfacre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Masters; two sisters, Alice Dudek and Grace Williams; and four brothers, Hank Halfacre, Leo Halfacre, Leathers Halfacre, and James Halfacre.

Survivors include a brother, Cordell Halfacre, Hohenwald; three sisters, Neoma Meadows, Livingston, Juanita Ruhf, St. Clair Shores, MI, and Janet Dekert, Gross Point Woods, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were her nephews, Johnny Halfacre, Louie Halfacre, John Meadows, Leo Halfacre, John Meadows III, Ellory Lewis, and Steve Williams.

Carl Hildreth Smith
Graveside services for Mr. Carl Hildreth Smith, 79, of Jacksonville, FL, were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at Forest Lawn cemetery in Goodlettsville, with Jim Franks officiating.

Mr. Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 7 at his home. He attended Willow Grove High School and was a salesman for Florshiem Shoe Company. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Born November 30, 1922, in Celina, he was the son of the late Thomas Cecil and Mary Velma (Goodpasture) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edwina Upton.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Camplin) Smith, Jacksonville, FL; two daughters, Donna Rudy Staggs, Celina, and Tamera Joe Spivey, Nashville; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Duane Wright
Funeral services for Mr. Duane Wright, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Whited officiating. Burial was in Beaty cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wright died Sunday, Aug. 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired district manager for a restaurant chain, a member of McDonald's Chapel United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II.

Born October 5, 1921, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Martha (Reeser) Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilton Wright, and a sister, Winefred Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Delta Jo Wright, Livingston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Cecilia Wright, Livingston, and Curtis and Denise Wright, Plant City, FL; a brother, Kenneth Wright, Nashville; and three grandchildren, Cindy Wright, Kayla Wright, and Kristen Wright. Pallbearers were Jason Garrett, Jerry Garrett, Brandon Suiter, Wayne McDonald, Junior Honeycutt, and Danny Scott.

George L. Boles
Funeral services for Mr. George L. Boles, 86, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Bill Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Turkeytown cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Boles died Thursday, Feb. 21 at Cumberland River Hospital. He was a farmer. Born July 17, 1915, in Gainesboro, he was the son of the late Willie and Rillie (Carmack) Boles.

Survivors include his wife, Ona Mae Boles, Celina; two sons, Robert Boles, Hilham, and Billy Boles, Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Sue Jean Watson, Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Ruby Burris, Celina; three grandchildren, Robert Allen Boles, Donna McBride, and Phillip Mark Watson; and five great grandchildren.

Nilon Neely
Funeral services for Mr. Nilon Neely, 74, of Monterey, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. A.J. Looper officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Goff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Neely died Friday, Feb. 22 at his home. He was a farmer and an Army veteran. He was affiliated with the East Tennessee Natural Gas Company and Monterey VFW Post 6277.

Born July 12, 1927, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Lester and Mae (Phillips) Neely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leva Norrod.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Faye (Officer) Neely, Monterey; and a brother, Marshall Neely, Livingston.

E.L. Lansden Smith
Funeral services for Mr. E.L. Lansden Smith, 95, of Monroe, Pickett County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Cross officiating. Burial was in Taylor cemetery in Pickett County with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and a member of Midway Christian Church. He served as Circuit Court and Sessions Court Clerk in Pickett County from 1958-1966.

Born April 20, 1906, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Porter Franklin and Sibbie (Hill) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Omogene (McDonald) Smith, seven brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Smith, Monroe, and Bobby Smith, Galveston, IN; five daughters, Ann Garrett and Linda Koger, both of Muncie, IN, Kay Savage, Monroe, Jane Green, Byrdstown, and Laura Lewis, Livingston; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.

Pallbearers were David Smith, Marty Savage, Michael Savage, Dana Green, Brian Lewis, and Bruce Winningham.

Willard Alvin Stotler
Funeral services for Mr. Willard Alvin Stotler, 83, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. J. Glea Shelley officiating. Burial was in Beaty cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Stotler died Tuesday, Feb. 19 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a millwright, a member of Grace Baptist Church in Alpine, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born November 2, 1918, in Missouri, he was the son of the late Ralph and Rose (Shipman) Stotler.

Survivors include his wife, Veo (Young) Stotler, Monroe; two sons, Willard Alvin Stotler Jr., Missouri, and Ronald L. Stotler, Michigan; two daughters, Louise McCloud and Barbara Huffer, both of California; three brothers, Chuck Stotler, California, and Floyd Stotler and Howard Stotler, both of Missouri; a sister, Mable Herbert, California; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Pallbearers were Louise McLeod, Steve Stotler, Ron Stotler, Kenny Stotler, Tim Stotler, and Jason Stotler.

Clara Sylvia Daniel
Funeral services for Ms. Clara Sylvia Daniel, 88, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2001, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Clayton officiating. Burial was in St. John cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Daniel died Friday, January 26, 2001 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a homemaker.

Born October 12, 1912, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Edward and Martha Elizabeth (Wright) Daniel. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by a sister, Pearl Sidwell; and six brothers, Jesse Daniel, Willie Daniel, Crit Daniel, Malcolm Daniel, Frank Daniel, and Charlie Hoover Daniel. Survivors include a sister Jewell Nolen, Livingston; one nephew and seven nieces.

Pallbearers were Bill Daniel, Crit Gaw, Josh Gaw, Randy Gaw, Ed 'Bub' Long, and Jim Savage.

Eliza Ruth (Cox) Bennett
Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Ruth (Cox) Bennett, 71, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2001, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home of Gainesboro with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Hurricane cemetery in the Hurricane Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bennett died Sunday, January 28, 2001, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.

Born April 9, 1929, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and May Stacy Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Alonzo Cox Sr.; her second husband, Odus Bennett; and three sons, Thomas Cox Jr., Hubert Bennett, and Samuel Bennett.

Survivors include six sons, Shirley Cox, Billy Cox, Charlie Cox, and Odell Bennett, all of Nashville, James Cole, Florida, and Cecil Cole, Rickman; a daughter, Ruthie Jane Guateri, Michigan; several brothers and sisters; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Willie George "Papa" Capps
Funeral services for Mr. Willie George "Papa" Capps, 83, of Celina, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in the Williams cemetery in Celina with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Capps, a furniture factory worker and farmer, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born November 16, 1916, in Peytonsburg, KY, he was the son of the late William "Bill" and Alice (Pruitt) Capps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene "Mama" (Scott) Capps; a son, L.D. Capps; three brothers, Calvin Capps, Ramon Capps, and Ben Capps; and four sisters, Lizzie, Fannie, Daizy, and Viola.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Grace Foster, Hilham, Betty Barnes, Monroe, and Peggy Moore, Celina; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Maggie Lee Conner Key
Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Lee Conner Key, 85, of Celina, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Tim Bennett officiating. Burial was in Key-Killmon cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Key, a housekeeper, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born August 16, 1914, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Nathan and Lena Belle (Dulworth) Conner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Armel Key; and a sister, Nina Dean Sells.

She was affiliated with the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Ina Sloan, Celina, Elizabeth Griffith, Smithville, and Linda Neal, Celina; two sons, Willie Joe Cordell Key, Allons, and Kenneth Nuel Key, Livingston; two brothers, Hubert Conner, Celina, and Norman Conner, Hilham; one sister, Dolly Lennie Smith, Livingston; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

Lester Earl Cope
Funeral services for Mr. Lesster Earl Cope, 51, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2001, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Minister Keith Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in the Amonette cemetery in Pickett County with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Cope died Monday, August 13, 2001, at his home. He was a powerplant employee, a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Born July 18, 1950, in Overton County, he was the son of Howard and Edith (Claborn) Cope. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Jamie Allen Cope.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two daughters, Ursula Cope and Yasmine Cope, both of Page, AZ; three sisters, Carol Ray, Fishers, IN, Wilma Rockwell and Kathy Neal, both of Livingston; a brother, Johnny Cope, Hilham; eight nieces and nephews; and five great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were D.J. Massengille, Jason Cope, Steve Ray, Joe Ray, Derrick Beasley, and Randy Claborn.
