Illa Christine McClain
Funeral services for Mrs. Illa Christine McClain, 70, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Barry Mayes officiating. Burial was in McClain cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. McClain died Sunday, Sept. 22 at Mabry Health Care and Rehabilition Center. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.

Born September 2, 1932, in Hilham, she was the daughter of the late James Gordon and Maggie (Lynn) Kellow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon McClain.

Survivors include two brothers, Car Kellow, Hilham, and Paul Kellow, Indianapolis, IN; and three sisters, Dorothy Strong, Clayton, IN, Adean McColtom, Indianapolis, and Helen Spivey, Hilham.

Walter G. Neal
Funeral services for Mr. Walter G. Neal, 73, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. James Shaver officiating. Burial was in Sells cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Neal died Friday, Sept. 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church.

Born August 23, 1929, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Willie and Lane Carter Neal.

Survivors include three brothers, Arvis Neal, Monroe, Grady Neal, Allons, and Ray Neal, Nashville; and a sister, Gearldean Gravitt, Maryland. His family served as pallbearers.

Annetta Ann Hamm Rains
Funeral services for Mrs. Annetta Ann Hamm Rains, 34, of Jamestown, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, from the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home in Jamestown with Bro. Chester Rhoad and Bro. Abraham Jones officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery in Fentress County with Jennings Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Rains died Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker.

Born April 17, 1968, in Abingdon, VA, she was the daughter of Shirley Hamm of Abingdon and the late Joseph Hamm.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Jeff Rains, Jamestown; two sons, Jeffery Rains and Travis Rains, both of Jamestown; two sisters, Shirley Mae Parson and Betty Jane Butler, both of Abingdon; a brother, Jaserh Walter Hamm, Abingdon; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Walter Hamm, Erna Riley, Matthew Rains, John Rains, Billy Price, Lee Baltimore, and Ricky Conaster.

Jimmie Lee Reagan
Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Lee Reagan, 96, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, from Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Dewitt Sampley officiating. Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Reagan died Saturday, Sept. 21 at his daughter's home. He was a retired farmer and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Born February 3, 1906, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Abe and Froma (Sells) Reagan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma (Garrett) Reagan; and three sons, E.J. Reagan, Willie D. Reagan, and Radford (Jad) Reagan.

Survivors include a son, J.C. Reagan, Allons; two daughters, Lois Cantrell, Rickman, and Agnes Nelson, Allons; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers were James Reagan, Dale Reagan, Ronnie Reagan, Glenn Reagan, Jimmy Reagan, Steve Sidwell, David Cantrell, Donnie Nelson, and Roger Nelson.

Junior Noman Sells
Private graveside services for Mr. Junior Noman Sells, 73, of Greenville, OH, were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at the Greenville cemetery with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Zechar Bailey Funeral Home of Greenville was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Sells died Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, OH. He retired from UTA (formerly Sheller Globe) in Union City, IN, in 1991 after 27-1/2 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Born February 17, 1929, in Livingston, he was the son of the late Allard H. and Ella J. (Claborn) Sells. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Benny Sells, Harold Sells, and Charles E. Sells; and an infant sister, Betty Jean Sells.

Survivors include his wife, Patty (Knick) Sells; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Homan, Kettering; OH; a brother and sister-in-law, Louis (Toggy) and Betty Sells, Independence Community; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Arcy Mitchell, Polk City, FL, and Margaret and Clois Greer, Lebanon; two step grandchildren, Joey Homan and Kelsey Homan; and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret Undine (Norris) Shelley
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Undine (Norris) Shelley, 73, of Algood, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Carl Hall and Bro. C.L. Hulse officiating. Burial was in Paran cemetery with Dyer Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Shelley died Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and attended Bethany United Methodist Church.

Born July 10, 1929, in Clinton County, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Jesse and Georgia Ada (Honeycutt) Norris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Bowman; a grandson, Jamie Shelley; two brothers, Joseph Norris and Schuyler Norris; and two sisters, Ruby Groce and Mary Means.

Survivors include her husband, J. Glea Shelley, Algood; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold Shelley and Roger and Teresa Shelley, all of Cookeville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jesse Sellers and Jo and Carl Hall, all of Shelbyville, Jessie and Edward Hull and Brenda and Taylor Reed, all of Cookeville; three brothers, Edward Norris, Bruce Norris, and Fred Norris, all of Ohio: two sisters, Beulah Wells, Ohio, and Jane Jones; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of foster grandchildren. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.

Joe Walter Copeland
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Walter Copeland, 85, of Battle Creek, MI, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Speck officiating. Burial was in Copeland cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Copeland, a retired salesperson for Cleveland Plant & Flower Company in Grand Rapids, MI, died Saturday, September 2, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Hospital.

Born November 22, 1914, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Alta (Sells) Copeland. He was affiliated with Cave Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of the West Fork Masonic Lodge.

He was also a former Overton County Road Commissioner.

Survivors include his former wife and the mother of his children, Mazie Vaughn Copeland, Alpine; three sons, Dr. Steve Copeland, Cookeville, Kent Copeland, Cleveland, and David Copeland, Knoxville; three daughters, Betty Speck, Cookeville, Ann Pangle, Chattanooga, and Donna Jean Beason, Alpine; four sisters, Mildred McNamee and Ruth Gallaway, both of Battle Creek, MI, Anna Barker, Cookeville, and Dorothy Huddleston, Livingston; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Danny Keith Rector
Funeral services for Mr. Danny Keith Rector, 47, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Williams officiating. Burial was in the Crabtree cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Rector, a former employee of Wilson Sporting Goods of Cookeville, died Wednesday, August 29, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born November 2, 1952, in Anderson, IN, he was the son of Ruby (Brady) Rector Norrod of Livingston and the late Arthur Rector. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Rector; grandparents, Martin and Flora (Allen) Rector and Quitman and Beth (Hawkins) Brady; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He loved to hunt and fish, play his guitar, and he enjoyed his grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Spring (Kensinger) Rector, Hilham; two daughters and sons-in-law, Roxanne and Steve Cline, Cookeville, and Elaine and Eric Maynord, Gainesboro; his step-father, Ted Norrod, Livingston; a sister, Debbie (Rector) Scantland, Gainesboro; two brothers, Steve Rector, Hilham, and Tim Rector, Livingston; four grandchildren, Keelyn and Christian Boles, Kailey Winningham, and Gracie Maynord; and a special friend, Mark Boles. Pallbearers were Donnie Fox, Bill Johnson, Mark Boles, Joe Lee Bilbrey, Adam Bilbrey, and Terry Rector. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Watkins, Tony Conner, and Shaun Scantland.

Hester Gordon Gentry
Funeral services for Mr. Hester Gordon Gentry, 84, of the Brotherton Community, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Leslie Hickey officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in the Brotherton Community with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Gentry, who was self-employed in farming, trucking, and logging, died Thursday, August 31, 2000.

Born December 3, 1915, he was the son of the late John L. and Mary Ann Chisholm Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Mae Shaver Gentry; a daughter, Margie Earline Gentry; his step-mother, Mona Massa Gentry; a brother, James Gentry; and a sister, Jewel Raulerson.

He was a veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Jackie Gentry and John A. and Brenda Gentry, all of Anderson, IN, and Lamour and Beatrice Gentry and Tony and Penny Gentry, all of Cookeville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Geneleta "Jenny" Ashburn and Beatrice "Beachie" and Billy Glover, all of Cookeville, and Trevenue "Tootsie" and Kenneth Conner of Monroe; two brothers, L.D. Gentry, Lakeland, FL, and Conrad Gentry, Seattle, WA; three sisters, Mildred Judd, Lakeland, FL, Bobbie Woodard, Spokane, WA, and Wilma Amison, Cleveland; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Anna Mae (Huddleston) Logan
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Mae (Huddleston) Logan, 94, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2000, at the Wolf River Baptist Church in Byrdstown with Bro. Ricky Cross officiating. Burial was in the Smyrna cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Logan, a housewife, died Monday, August 28, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born November 7, 1905, in Albany, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Nettie (Stockton) Huddleston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Webb Logan; her step-mother, Ollie Huddleston; two sons, Willie D. Logan and Wendell Logan; and a grandson, Chris Masiongale.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Charlene Masiongale, Shelba Shaver, and Janice Sells, all of Byrdstown; two sons, Orbin Logan, Jamestown, and Harold Logan, Byrdstown; a half sister, Aletha Conner, Byrdstown; three half brothers, Howard Huddleston, Byrdstown, Eugene Huddleston, Cookeville, and Willie Huddleston, Georgia; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Sells, Daniel Shaver, Jimmy Shaver, Ray Logan, Mike Logan, Richard Logan, Kenny Purk, and Pudge Shaver.

Hettie R. Keisling
Funeral services for Mrs. Hettie R. Keisling, 88, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. J. Glea Shelley officiating. Burial was in the Martin cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Keisling, a housewife, died Thursday, August 31, 2000, at Overton County Nursing Home.

Born September 28, 1911, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Webbie Nation Reagan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Keisling; two sisters, Allene White and Alva Roberts; and three brothers, Herman Reagan, Thurman Reagan, and J.B. Reagan.

She was a member of the Hatcher Hall Christian Church. In 1998, she resided for several months with a special great nephew, Ronald Dishman, and his wife, Collette.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Edna Smith, Tennessee; a brother, Shirley Reagan, Anderson, IN; several step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Sallie Nancy Sells
Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie Nancy Sells, 67, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 16, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in Hatcher cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sells, a housewife, died Friday, August 13, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born November 22, 1931, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Myrtie Arney Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Sells; a grandson, Andrew Sells; five brothers, Otha Vaughn, Fount Vaughn, Eugene Vaughn, James Vaughn, and Raymond Vaughn; and two sisters, Mandy Greenwood and Annie Sells.

She was a member of Free Communion Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Carlos Sells, Byrdstown, and Bennie Sells and Doyle Sells, both of Livingston; three daughters, Helen Smith, Monroe, Vivian Sells, Hilham, and Sandy Woodward, Allons; six brothers, Stanley Vaughn, Edd Vaughn, and Bill Vaughn, all of Livingston, Ken Vaughn and Bobby Vaughn, both of Hilham, and Tom Vaughn, Allons; 10 grandchildren, Cindy Sells, Jimmy Sells, Steven Sells, Bobby Sells, Jamie Sells, Joseph Sells, Stephanie West, Nancy Smith, Connie Smith, and Stacy Shaw; and four great grandchildren, Karlie West, Katie West, Mackenzie Shaw, and 'Baby' Sells.

Pallbearers were Jason Vaughn, Gene Vaughn, James Vaughn, Jeremy Boles, Steve Vaughn, and Todd Matthews.
