Funeral services for Mrs. Ezma Lee Seber Bilbrey Parrish, 85, of Houston, TX, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in the Okolona cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Parrish, a housewife, died Friday, November 10, 2000, in Albany, GA.
Born September 3, 1915, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Sarah (Andrews) Seber. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Haston Seber.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Billy Eugene Bilbrey, Houston, TX; a daughter, Bernice Mathis, Albany, GA; two sisters, Hassie Gore, Anderson, IN, and Jewell Dean Staggs, Livingston; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Scott Hammock, Toby Hammock, Terry Daniels, Billy Mahaney, A.B. Ledbetter, and Keith Burk.
Chester Dale McLerran
Funeral services for Mr. Chester Dale McLerran, 47, of Petersburg, VA, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Bro. Mr. McLerran, a supervisor at a paper mill, died Sunday, November 5, 2000, at the South Side Regional Medical Center in Petersburg,VA.
Born June 14, 1953, in Tipton, IN, he was the son of the late Bedford McLerran and Settie York.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Wesley Spillers, Indianapolis, IN; his fiance, Ruby Harris, Petersburg, VA; two brothers, Jerry McLerran and David Cherry, both of Celina; eight sisters, Charlene Stanley, Oneida, Shirlene Trobaugh, Hilham, Sue Cherry, Carol Short, Lisa White, all of Celina, Veda Kendall, Sue Atchley, and Emma Heimbauch; and a grandson, Wesley Dale Michael Spillers, Indianapolis, IN.
Claude Laton Boles
Funeral services for Mr. Claude Laton Boles, 68, of Cookeville, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2000, from the chapel of the Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bros. Mr. Boles, a retired Tech Sergeant in the United States Air Force, died Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at his home.
Born in Pickett County, he was the son of the late John Sherman Boles Sr. and Alta Mae (Shewmake) Boles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God, a member of the National Rifle Association, and a Scottish Rites Body Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Marie (Gattis) Boles, Cookeville; a stepdaughter, Patty Ann King, California; a stepson, James Michael Hayslip, California; seven brothers, Morse Boles and Marce Boles, both of Michigan, John Sherman Boles Jr., Alabama, Victor V. Boles, Goodlettsville, Kenneth O. Boles, Livingston, Bryce Boles, Algood, and Harold Boles, Virginia; three sisters, Jemima Joseph, Clarksville, Geraldine Saad, Michigan, and Patricia Hoffmann, Missouri; and two step-grandchildren, Scott and Stephen Hayslip, California.
Mary Stella Boatman
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Stella Boatman, 80, of Algood, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2000, from Paran United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Paran cemetery with Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Boatman died Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at Masters Health Care Center in Algood.
Born April 21, 1920, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late M.C. and Lura Eva (Gibbons) Boatman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred H. Boatman.
She was a member of the Paran United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Bobby Gentry, Cookeville; and a niece, Jacqulin Sweeny, Goodlettsville.
Jessie Uldean Randall
Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Uldean Randall, 76, of Allons and formerly of Muncie, IN, will be conducted Saturday, November 11, 2000, at the Meeks Mortuary in Munice, IN, with burial in the Elm Ridge cemetery in Munice, IN.
Mrs. Randall, a retired employee of Pyromet, Inc., died Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born October 9, 1924, in Taylorsville, IL, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew and Willie Officer Beaty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Randall; a brother, Doake Capps Beaty; and a great grandson, Jeremy Lloyd Thompson.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the American Legion and Marine Corp Auxilliaries.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Hawkins, Allons; two sisters, Mildred Jean Piercesall, Daleville, IN, and Joyce Glee, Munice, IN; four grandchildren, Rebecca Jo Edwards, James Bradley Massengill, Travis Ray Hawkins, all of Allons, and Jami Sue Ballard, Marengo, IN; and three great grandchildren, Justin Alan Thompson, Taryan Sue Ballard, and Breanna Parish Rheames.
John Robert Savage

Mr. Savage, a gas station and fruit market owner, died Sunday, November 5, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born June 9, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Leo and Willie (Brown) Savage. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hettie Savage; three brothers, Leamond Savage, Leland Savage, and Newman Savage; and two sisters, Eddress Trice and Vetral Menendez.
He was a member of the Allons Baptist Church and he served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Harold Gore, Guyland Lewis, Landon Staggs, Edwin Garrett, Claudis Hunter, and S.D. Pennington.
Earl Carleton Allred
Graveside services for Mr. Earl Carleton Allred, 68, of Lamesa, TX, were conducted November 4, 2000, with Brannon Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Allred died November 2, 2000, in the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.
Born January 30, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Cortes and Ruby (Ledbetter) Allred. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Allred; a daughter, Jennifer; and a sister, Johnnie Ruth Padgett.
He graduated from Livingston Academy in 1950 and moved to Texas.
Survivors include a son, James Allred; three brothers, Mike Allred, Nashville, Gene Allred, Livingston, and Richard Allred, Odessa, TX; two sisters, Charlene McMahan, and Betty Craiget, both of Livingston; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
James Paul Holloway
Funeral services for Master James Paul Holloway, almost 1 year old, of Algood, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Carles Walker and Bro. Ferrell Looper officiating. Burial was in Rocky Point cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Master Holloway died Monday, November 6, 2000, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
Born November 16, 1999, in Cookeville, he was the son of James and Jennifer Sparks Holloway of Cookeville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Anna Mae Sparks.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Freddie and Louise Holloway, and Paul Sparks, all of Cookeville; his great grandparents, L.D. and Evelyn Holloway, Cookeville, and Oral and Gladys Looper, Rickman; an uncle, Jason Holloway, Cookeville; and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers were Jason Holloway, Eddie Holloway, Freddie Holloway, and James Holloway.
Della T. Chilton

Mrs. Chilton, a factory worker, died Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born June 29, 1910, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Alba (Kennedy) Tays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elbert Chilton; two sisters, Lola Norris, and Lois Eldridge; and two brothers, Carvel Tays, and Willard Sells.
She was a member of the Oak Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Vella Moore, Algood; and a half-sister, Arxie Jones, Alpine.
Pallbearers were Bobby Buford, Dwain Winningham, Larry Cooper, Doug Ledbetter, James Kennedy, and Jeff Collins.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jerry Hancock, Dustin Collins, Jacob Collins, Gerald David Norris, and Donald Winningham.
Freda Gail Bull Hensley
Funeral services for Mrs. Freda Gail Bull Hensley, 44, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2000 from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Rev. Frank Criswell officiating. Burial was in Lynn cemetery in the Burristown Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hensley died Saturday, December 16, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a former factory employee.
Mrs. Hensley was of the Baptist faith and a former resident of the Burristown Community of Jackson County.
Born December 11, 1956, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Nell Flynn Bull of Gainesboro and the late Arthur Bull. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Larry Hensley; a sister, Myra Bull Spivey; paternal grandparents, George and Mattie Bull; and maternal grandparents, Walter and Ruby Flynn.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a son, Larry Charles Hensley, Gainesboro; a daughter, Kayla Brooke Hensley, Livingston; four brothers, Charles Bull and Danny Bull, both of Gainesboro, Donnie Bull, Hilham, and Ronnie Bull, Livingston; three sisters, Bonnie Burton, Baxter, Barbara Webb and Betty Lacy, both of Livingston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Reba Hensley, Livingston; and a special friend, Patricia Stewart, Cookeville.
George Allen Garrett
Funeral services for Mr. George Allen Garrett, 94, of Crossville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2000, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home of Byrdstown with Gene Grasham officiating. Burial was in Amonett cemetery in Pickett County with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Garrett died Friday, December 15, 2000, at the Crossville Medical Center.
He was a member of the Christian Church and was a retired tool and dye maker. Mr. Garrett also served in the United States Navy and participated in World War II.
Born September 14, 1906, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Joshua and Polly Patrick Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sells Garrett.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita Miller, Joyce Miller, and Sharon Mullins, all of Crossville; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Mr. Garrett's grandsons served as pallbearers and his granddaughters were the honorary pallbearers.
Cleo Scott Jones

Mrs. Jones died Friday, December 15, 2000 at NHC HealthCare of Cookeville. She was a homemaker.
Born July 16, 1922, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Della Mae Richardson Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Dillard Jones.
Survivors include two sons, Luke B. Scott, Cookeville, and Eugene Scott, Fayetteville; two daughters, Patsy Allison, Smyrna, and Lorayne Smithey, Mount Juliet; three brothers, Lushion Scott, Gainesboro, Alonzo C. Scott and Arvil Scott, both of Cookeville; three sisters, Daffo Hamlet, Illinois, Lary Petty, Gainesboro, and Lucy Brown, Rickman; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
