Funeral services for Mrs. Annie May (Holt) Hill, 84, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 1999, from Byrdstown First Christian Church with Bro. Gene Grasham officiating. Burial was in Wirmingham cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hill, a homemaker, died Wednesday, December 15, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born July 18, 1915, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. C.L. and Bertie (Cross) Holt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Hill; a brother, Lloyd Holt; and two sisters, Ruth Garrett, and Bessie Rich. She was a lifetime member of Byrdstown First Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Ann Hill, Byrdstown; a son, James E. Hill, Byrdstown; two sisters, Virginia Evans and Martha 'Jo' Craven, both of Byrdstown; a brother, Grady C. Holt, Huntsville, AL; three granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; and one step-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Reynolds, J.B. Reynolds, Greg Holt, and Stephen Bilbrey.
Birdle Knight
Funeral services for Mr. Birdle Knight, 60, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2000, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Young and Bro. Eugene Lawson officiating. Burial was in Dodson Branch cemetery in the Dodson Branch community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home of Gainesboro in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Knight, a disabled carpenter, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at his residence.
Born December 15, 1939, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Homer and Leona Jackson Knight. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jane Thornton.
Survivors include four sons, Johnny Knight, Sparta, and Rick Knight, Danny Knight, and Tommy Knight, all of Jackson County; a daughter, Tammy Allen, Jackson County; four brothers, Douglas Knight, Overton County, Edd Knight, Dayton, OH, and Carson Knight and Joe Knight, both of Jackson County; a sister, Ora Smallwood, Jackson County; and nine grandchildren.
Mary Estelle Allen
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Estelle Allen, 80, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2000, from Algood Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Blankenship officiating. Burial was in Algood cemetery with the Algood Chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Allen, a retired cook for the Putnam County school system, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at her residence.
She was a member of Algood Church of Christ.
Born February 9, 1920, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mima Loftis Maberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Polk Allen; two sisters, Nell Meadows and Lassie Davis; and a brother, Oscar Mabry.
Survivors include four sons, Bob Allen, Algood, Shirrel Allen, Rellon Allen, and Charley Lewis Allen, all of Cookeville; two daughters, Mary Anna Allen, Cookeville, and Dian Batey, Hazel Green, AL; a brother, Walter Mabry, Gainesboro; a sister, Dimple Mayberry, Frazier, MI; 12 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeffery Batey, Robert Batey, David Allen Batey, Charlie Batey, Ben Batey, and William Batey.
Honorary pallbearers were Tom Hayes, Andy Alcorn, Daniel Sherrill, and Nathan Cobble.

Born March 29, 1938, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Jewell Grace (Brown) Dailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Ogletree; and three brothers, Joe Dailey, Walter Dailey Jr., and Bobby Dailey.
She was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, J.T. Ogletree, Hilham; a son, Timmy Ogletree, Hilham; three daughters, Barbara Lewis, Virginia Beach, VA, Diane Garrett, and Tamera Stafford, both of Livingston; a brother, Larry Dailey, Georgia; a sister, Modenia Greenwood, Livingston; four grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Dorbitt Stokely Winningham

Mr. Winningham, a farmer, died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Lafollette Medical Center.
Born June 19, 1941, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late James T. and Mary (Hill) Winningham.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Winningham and Darrell Winningham, both of Byrdstown; a daughter, Debra Alfaro, Byrdstown; six brothers, Doyle Winningham, Dewain Winningham, both of Livingston, James Winningham, Monroe, Dolphus Winningham, Byrdstown, Dowell Winningham, and Drew Winningham, both of Indiana; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robby Moody, Jason Cross, Dale Wallace, Gary James Winningham, Ricky Winningham, and Millard Abbott. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Nathan Winningham.

Born April 27, 1905, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Z.B. and Ella Mae (Hassler) Swallows.
She was member of Swallows Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include a nephew, Bill Swallows, Rickman; and two cousins, Sam Gibbons and Roy Gibbons, both of Algood.

Carlos Ray Ramsey

Mr. Ramsey, an employee at Berkline Corp., died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born November 7, 1939, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Claude and Fannie (Hammock) Ramsey.
He was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Ramsey, Livingston; a brother, Ralph Ramsey, Livingston; two sisters, Ruth Ramsey and Retha Ramsey, both of Livingston; two nieces, Gail Ramsey and Reba Dean Reid; a great niece, Angela Ray; and a great nephew, Anthony Ledbetter.

Mr. Ledford, a retired employee of American Gas, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital Center in Beech Grove, IN. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Thomas Ledford. He served in the Navy during World Ward II.
Survivors include his wife, Clara (Smith) Ledford, Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Shirley Elizabeth "Betty" Bertram, Beech Grove, IN; a brother, Grover Cleveland Ledford, Tennessee; a sister, Emogene Anderson, Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Ollie Collins Atchley

Born March 6, 1903, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Ann Collins. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clyde M. Atchley and Claude Atchley, and a brother, Sant Collins.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Ray and Joy Atchley, Celina, and Paul and Faye Atchley, Allons; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Katherine and Alva Sherrell and Rosa Nell and Frankie Marsh, all of Sparta, and Fannie Ruth Gribble, Celina; six grandchildren, Robert Gribble, Vickie Logan, Greg Atchley, Kent Atchley, Lori Rae Arms, and Rhonda Gooding; and six great grandchildren.
