Jackie Glenn Willis
Funeral services for Mr. Jackie Glenn Willis, 31, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. John Copeland officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Willis died Wednesday, April 10 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. He was a sawmill worker and of the Baptist faith.

Born February 10, 1971, in Overton County, he was the son of Shirley (Lebetter) Dulworth of Celina and Gene Willis of Allons. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Lucille Ledbetter and John and Jewell Willis; and an uncle, James Ledbetter.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his stepmother, Katherine Willis, Allons; stepfather, Ronnie Dulworth, Celina; a daughter, Lakrisha Willis, Livingston; two stepchildren, Josh Lee and Chasity Hall, both of Livingston; a brother, Shane Dulworth, Celina; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers were Johnny Dulworth, Carl Dulworth, Billy Dulworth, Billy Ray Handy, Tim Dulworth, and Shane Dulworth.

Lonnie Hathaway, Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Lonnie Hathaway Jr., 80, of Livingston, were conducted at noon Thursday, April 11, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. A.J. Looper officiating. Burial was in Paran cemetery with Full Military Honors graveside by the James T. Davis VFW Post 5062 of Livingston. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hathaway died Sunday, April 7 at his home. He was a retired military and security guard and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Born January 8, 1922, in South Carolina, he was the son of the late Lonnie Sr. and Edna (Carman) Hathaway. Survivors include an aunt, Minnie Carman, South Carolina; and a special friend, David Allen, Livingston.

Eva ((Brown) Hall
Funeral services for Mrs. Eva (Brown) Hall, 92, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2002, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Robert Boles officiating. Burial was in Old Antioch cemetery in the Old Antioch Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hall died Saturday, April 13 at Mabry Health Care & Rehab Center in Gainesboro. She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ, and a resident of the Old Antioch Community of Jackson County.

Born April 26, 1909, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late N.F. and Livie Lee (Boles) Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Brown; and three sisters, Velma Lee Brown, Emma Brown, and Katie Backler.

Survivors include a son, Mayford Hall, Gainesboro; a daughter, Virginia Lee Holt, Noblesville, IN; four brothers, Houston Brown, Celina, Wilburn Brown, Hilham, Willard Brown, Cookeville, and Parker Brown, Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Ona Collins and Opal Grisson, both of Noblesville, and Verda Miller, Rickman; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Luther Deamus Hammons
Funeral services for Mr. Luther Deamus Hammons, 85, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2002, from Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hammons died Tuesday, April 16 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a farmer and a member of the Freewill Baptist Faith.

Born August 11, 1916, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Carroll Quitman and Armildia Ann (Frence) Hammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Othie (Ashburn) Hammons; and two sons, Calvin Hammons and Frank Lee Hammons.

Survivors include three sons, Joe D. Hammons, Overton County, and Bruce Hammons and Ray Hammons, both of Cookeville; three daughters, Retha Looper, Rickman, Jean Patton, Cookeville, and Milda Jackson, Monterey; five grandchildren, Joel Hammons, Billy Hammons, David Patton, Becky Shaver, and Sara Jackson; and five great grandchildren, Ethan Hammons, Kaitlyn Hammons, Emily Hammons, Hannah Hammons, and Samuel Shaver.

Bonnie Kate (Smith) Scott
Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Kate (Smith) Scott, 87, of Sabina, OH, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 24, 2002, from the Assembly of God Church in Wilmington, OH with Rev. Richard Bracht officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memory Gardens in Wilmington with Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home of Wilmington in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Scott died Friday, April 19 at Autumn Years Nursing Center in Sabina. She was formerly a worker at Model Cleaners.

Born September 27, 1914, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late John and Minerva (Ferrell) Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Lauren Ooten, Charles H. Smith, and Lee Scott; a stepson, Ron Scott; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Stollings; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Michele Ooten, Naples, FL; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Georgia and Jack Hopping, Easley, SC, Alice Goldsberry, Englewood, OH, and Brenda and Danny Miller, Wilmington; two stepsons and a stepdaughter-in-law, Charles W. Smith, Macon, GA, and Don and Barbara Smith, Wilmington; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Nancy and Frank Wilt, Michigan, and Carol, Missouri; a sister, Mable Sherrill, Livingston; six grandchildren, Sherry Cassels, Rick Ooten, Kathy Ooten Saxton, John Cooper, Kris Hughes, and Wayne Hughes; six step-grandchildren, Kenny Stollings, Sharon Vickers, Jackie Smith, Mike Smith, David Smith, and Gary Smith; several great grandchildren; and two great- great grandchildren.

Deborah Filena (Farmer) Dyer
Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Filena (Farmer) Dyer, 45, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Burchett and Bro. Dewey Dyer officiating. Burial was in Holly Springs cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dyer died Friday, April 5 in Nashville. She was a CNA worker for Home Health, a homemaker, and a member of Flatt Creek Church of Christ.

Born March 6, 1957, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Delford and Alva Lee (Holman) Farmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Farmer; and two nephews, Shane Farmer and Vernon Booher.

Survivors include a son, Brad Dyer, Livingston; four sisters, Shirley Zachary, Lebanon, Mary Booher, Livingston, Stella Smith, Cookeville, and Kathy Gregory, Pleasant Shade; two brothers, Donald Farmer and Gary Farmer, both of Watertown; a special friend and ex-husband, Alvin Dyer, Livingston; a special friend, Edna Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Joe Smith, Gary Booher, T.J. Gunnels, Eric Carmack, Scott Dishman, Josh Farmer, Johnny Holman, Donald Savage, Dale Dyer, and Rick Walker.

Barbara Ann Bowen
Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Bowen, 61, of Algood, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2002, from the chapel of Rickman Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Reeder officiating. Burial was in Netherland cemetery with Rickman Hall Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bowen died Monday, April 8 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a housewife.

Born September 21, 1940, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Alex Barnes and Ila Edna (Bowman) Roberson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Lee Roberson.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Bowen and Gary Bowen, both of Algood; a stepson, Michael Bowen, Lebanon; and a daughter, Kristie Beaty, Livingston. Pallbearers were Dewayne Fox, Mitch Fox, Steve Bowman, Brian Honeycutt, Matt Mitchell, and Phyll Honeycutt.

Carl G. Cantrell
Funeral services for Mr. Carl G. Cantrell, 53, of South Bend, IN, and formerly of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Dixon officiating. Burial was in Liberty cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Cantrell died Tuesday, April 9 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a maintenance/U.S. Post Office worker in South Bend, IN, of the Baptist faith, a Veteran of U.S. Marine Corp during Vietnam War, and a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Born June 13, 1948, in Putnam County, he was the son of Coy Cantrell of Livingston and the late Odene (Stout) Cantrell. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, J.E. Cantrell.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Bonnie Cantrell, South Bend, IN; a son, Ethen Cantrell, South Bend; six stepsons, Byron Blender, Nevada, Aaron Blender and Tracy Blender, South Bend, Gabe Blender and Hillary Blender, Washington, and Chuck Blender, Oregon; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Rita Cantrell, South Bend; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Fay and James West and Linda Cantrell, all of Livingston; two nephews, Mark Cantrell, Knoxville, and James Cantrell, Livingston; and three step grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Harold Cantrell, Mark Cantrell, James West, Wayne Wilborn, Jerry McDonald, and Jerry Hammock.

Cynthia "Cyndi" Brown
Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia "Cyndi" Brown, 38, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2002, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Father Tom Perrin, S.D.S. officiating. Burial was in Lynn cemetery in the Burristown Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, April 10 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was disabled, a Catholic, and a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville. She was a resident of the New Hope Community of Jackson County.

Born September 30, 1963, in Dearborn, MI, she was the daughter of Kurt and Lucy (Skebo) Brown of Hilham.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a son, Dale Eric Brown, Hilham; grandparents, Elbert and Dois (Ramsey) Chrisman, Gainesboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Janet Brown, Silver Point, and Danny and Terri Brown, Lewisburg; and a sister and brother-in-law, Sheri and Jeff Price, Lebanon.

Randy Lee Scantland
Funeral services for Mr. Randy Lee Scantland, 22, of the Fairview Community in Gainesboro, will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 1, 2001, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with Bro. H.S. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill cemetery in the Fairview Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Scantland died Sunday, July 29, 2001 in Gainesboro. He was a carpenter.

Born November 11, 1978, in Livingston, he was the son of Dale and Virginia (McClain) Scantland of Gainesboro. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Marjorie Scantland and Milas and Dorothy McClain.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a daughter, Kassey Leann Scantland, Gainesboro; a brother, Chris Scantland, Gainesboro; a sister, Rena Allen, Gainesboro; two nephews, Robert Allen and Mikey Allen; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Kathy Louise Reynolds
Memorial services for Mrs. Kathy Louise Reynolds, 47, of Surfside Beach, SC, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, from the chapel of Goldfinch Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Mrs. Reynolds died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, in Conway, SC. She was a philanthropist, an artist, and of the independent faith.

Born September 10, 1953, in Clifton, she was the daughter of Alice (Lynch) Sells of Monroe and the late Joe Tom Pugh.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Joseph 'Joe' E. Reynolds; her step-father, John Sells, Monroe; two sons, David Ryan Sheffield, Georgia, and Jason Neal Sheffield, Surfside Beach; a brother, Garry Pugh, Tennessee; two sisters, Regina Pugh, Ohio, and Shirley Sells, Tennessee; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.

Edwin Paul Padgett
Funeral services for Mr. Edwin Paul Padgett, 59, of Mooresville, IN, formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in the Padgett cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Padgett died Friday, July 20, 2001, at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was a painter.

Born April 25, 1942, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Charles Hubert and Lillie (Rich) Padgett.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Padgett, Mooresville; two daughters, Ronda Hines, Mooresville, and Constance Wright, Indianapolis; a brother and sister-in-law, Ezra 'Smitty' and Betty Padgett, Indianapolis; a sister, Loretta Raynor, Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.

Shanna Danielle Maxwell
Funeral services for Miss Shanna Danielle Maxwell, 17, of Celina, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Ken Miller officiating. Burial was in the Thompson-Webb cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Miss Maxwell died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at Macon County General Hospital. She was a senior at Celina High School.

Born March 11, 1984, in Celina, she was the daughter of Charles and Teresa (Adams) Maxwell of Celina. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hershel Adams, James Winters Maxwell, and Clara Mae (Kerr) Maxwell.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her grandmother and step-grandfather, Lena (Adams) and Charles Jennings, Celina; a brother, Charles Dwayne Maxwell, Celina; two half-brothers, James William Maxwell and Charles Walace Maxwell, both of Celina; a sister, Patricia Lynn Maxwell, Celina; and a half-sister, Vickie Ann McLerran, Celina.

Pallbearers were Dewayne Maxwell, Brian Thompson, Joey Crawford, Rodney Hopper, Jamie Thompson, and Charles Maxwell. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Charles Huddleston, Gary Thompson, and Michael Thompson.
