Elmo Ledbetter
Funeral services for Mr. Elmo Ledbetter, 85, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Ovle Tinch and Eugene McCowan officiating. Burial was in the Copeland cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ledbetter, a farmer, died Saturday, July 22, 2000 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born October 4, 1914, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Alex and Mary (Copeland) Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Betty Ledbetter; three sisters, Lura Ledbetter, Beatrice Neely, and Attress "Duck" Neely; and two brothers, Dick Ledbetter and Clinton Ledbetter.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy, and a member of the VFW and American Legion. Survivors include three daughters, Rithia "Button" Winningham and Patricia Sue Bullock, both of Monroe, and Stella Brooks, St. Joseph, IL; a son, Bruce Michael Ledbetter, Rickman; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mike Ledbetter, Andy Ledbetter, Jamey Presley, Doey Neely, Willie Qualls, and Lee Swallows.

Honorary pallbearers were Darrell Flowers, Hollis Stockton, J.C. Ferrell, Carl McDonald, Duey Carr, Wallace Ledbetter, Marvin Pennington, Alec Ledbetter, Chris Ledbetter, and Dustin Winningham.

Elise Pinkson Keisling
Funeral services for Mrs. Elise (Pinkston) Keisling, 77, of Huber Heights, OH, and formerly of Cookeville, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Watson officiating. Burial was in the Good Hope cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Keisling, a kitchen worker for Children's Medical Center, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.

Born March 4, 1923, in Cookeville, she was the daughter of the late Grady Hugh Pinkston and Mattie Phy Pinkston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Keisling.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Roy Holland, Kettering, OH, Ann and Jim Hudson, Xenia, OH, and Linda and Doug Lyons, Southfield, MI; seven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kurt Jackson, Jimmy Hudson, Robert Hudson, Timothy Boyd, Daniel Ponath, and Tommy Shaw.

Bobby Lee Holloway
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Lee Holloway, 67, of Cookeville, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2000, from the chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Gary Lee officiating. Burial was in the Salem cemetery with Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Military honors were provided by a Veterans Honor Guard consisting of VFW Post 6277, VVA Post 741, and American Legion Post 135.

Mr. Holloway, a former softball coach at Tennessee Technological University, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Born January 23, 1933, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Bassel and Vallie Mayberry Holloway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Judd) Holloway; and a brother, Earl Holloway.

He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He served as softball coach at Tennessee Tech from 1988 to 1998. He directed Tech's softball team to 267 victories and two Ohio Valley Conference Championships during his 11 years as head coach. He directed the Golden Eagles to 8 consecutive winning seasons and was named Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 1994.

He also served as assistant coach to the Tennessee Stars team, which played against the U.S. Olympic Team in 1996. He had been involved in women's softball for more than 30 years, including coaching a local 16 to 18 year-old team to four consecutive state championships, and working with the Cookeville High School Team.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and John Bella, Cookeville; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Holloway, Cookeville; three sisters, twin Dee Smith and Pearl Wheeler, both of Cookeville, and Lavada Kaelin, Enon, OH; three grandchildren, Leslie (Randolph) Newman and husband John, Patrick Randolph, and Christopher Randolph; and one great grandson, John Scott Newman.

Pallbearers were Russ Quay, Don Bullock, Troy Whittaker, Harry Maxwell, David Walker, Carlos Grider, and Phil Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were the Tennessee Tech University Women's Fast Pitch Softball Team.

Larry David "Tack" Murphy
Funeral services for Mr. Larry David "Track" Murphy, 51, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Murphy, a truck driver for Livingston Concrete Co., died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born January 26, 1949, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late James D. and Hester Hargis Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Murphy; and three brothers, Sam Murphy, James Buck Coleman, and Joe Benton Coleman.

He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Melinda Murphy, Alpine; a son, Mark Murphy, Alpine; two brothers, Jerry Murphy and Joe Murphy, both of Livingston; four sisters, Wanda Jones, Akron, OH, Teddy Rose Simpson, Alpine, Valerie Barlow, Hilham, and Becy Raines, Livingston; a granddaughter, Ashley Murphy; an aunt, Effie Coleman; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were J.C. Roberts, Glen Ledbetter, Keith Leslie, Anthony Murphy, Freddie Murphy, Richard Murphy, James Murphy, and Brutis Coleman. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Abston, Michael Simpson, Donnie Simpson, Matthew Geesling, Jason Murphy, Josh Murphy, Jamie Cravens, Jeremy Murphy, Steven Murphy, and Leo Ledbetter.

Jerry D. Myers
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry D. Myers, 76, of Livingston, will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Elder Richard Gist officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Myers, an auto factory worker, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at V.A. Medical Center in Nashville.

Born January 23, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Robert Sidney and Caroline Cullom Myers.

He was a deacon in the Church of God in Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Myers, Cookeville; two daughters, Janis Myers, Indianapolis, IN, and Stephanie Myers, Syracuse, NY; and a sister, Agnes Hamilton.

Dora B. Robbins
Funeral services for Mrs. Dora B. Robbins, 88, of Lancing, were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle Nance officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Robbins, a housewife, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at her home.

Born October 19, 1911, in Appalachia, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Elizabeth Dingus Boggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, U.E. Robbins.

She was affiliated with a non-denominational church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Jennie Keisling
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Keisling, 97, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Dr. Lyle Anderson officiating. Burial was in Nelson cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Keisling, a housewife, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 3, 1902, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Will Sims and Sylvolia Emmaline Garrett Sims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marvin Ward Keisling; and her infant daughter, Alfreda Keisling.

She was a member of Hatcher Hall Christian Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Charles Keisling, Dale Keisling, Stevie Sims, Darius Sims, Jeff Petry, and Dave Parasol.

Ray Tinsley Buck
Funeral services for Mr. Ray Tinsley Buck, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home of Livingston with Rev. Lester Flatt officiating. Burial was in Campground cemetery with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Buck, a taxi driver, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born January 9, 1920, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Wesley and Sarah Hattie Nevins Buck.

He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Goldia Buck, Livingston; two sons, Harold Ray Buck, Tucson, AZ, and Jackey Lee Buck, Rockvale; two brothers, Artie "Dutch" Buck, and William W. Buck, Jr., both of Anderson, IN; a sister, Nina Pace, Anderson, IN; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bruce Buck, Terry Gene Buck, Jimmy Buck, Kevin Buck, James Buck, and Bill Buck.

Ida Ann Clark
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Ann Clark, 94, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000, from Allons Bethel Assembly of God with Rev. Terry McCloud officiating. Burial was in Bethel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Clark, a retired nurse's aid at Overton County Nursing Home, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Overton County Nursing Home.

Born January 2, 1906, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Rass and Oanna Stover Ledbetter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoy L. Clark, and a grandchild, Pat Clark.

She was a member of Allons Bethel Assembly of God.

Survivors include four sons, Linzie Clark, Livingston, James H. Clark, Allons, Walter Clark, McMinnville, and Hoy Landon Clark, Jr., Rickman; two brothers, J.C. Ledbetter, Cookeville, and Lige Ledbetter, Kentucky; two sisters, Mary Belle Maynord, Anderson, IN, and Thelma Hancock, Clarksville; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Bobby Thompson, Gerald Clark, David Clark, Chad Clark, Kevin Carter, and Matt Reeder.

Carlton Lee Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mr. Carlton Lee Bilbrey, 47, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Bilbrey, a route driver for the Lance Company, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born July 22, 1952, in Overton County, he was the son of Willard and Geneva C. Cooper Bilbrey. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Willard Bilbrey. He attended the Baptist church.

Survivors include his parents, Willard and Geneva Bilbrey, Rickman; his wife, Virginia Bilbrey, Livingston; a son, Jason Bilbrey, Hilham; a step-son, Hollis Allen Thrasher, Hardy's Chapel community; a daughter, Carla Michelle Bilbrey, Moss; a step-daughter, Kimberly Kay Hummel, Monroe; two sisters, Barbara June Haney, Indiana, and Gail Collins, Murfreesboro; a grandchild, Selina Michelle Grace; and a step-grandchild, Lee Ann Nicole Hummel.

Pallbearers were Hollis Thrasher, Scott Geesling, Tony Collins, Tony Daniels, Will Haney, and John Daniels. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Massengille, and Tim Barnes.

William Isaac Johnson
Funeral services for Mr. William Isaac Johnson, 78, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000, from the chapel of Dunn and Kelly Funeral Home in Salyersville, KY, with Joe Keeton officiating. Burial was in Howard cemetery in Sublett, KY, with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Military rites conducted by Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15.

Mr. Johnson, a retired electrician, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born December 17, 1921, in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Andrew and Susie (Burton) Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (Howard) Johnson; and two sisters, Ivy Barnes and Mamie Vincent. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Post #438, and also a veteran of WWII.

Survivors include three daughters, Rhonda Wright, Betta Dunn, both of Monroe, and Billie Johnson, Lexington, KY; two sons, Kenneth Johnson and James Johnson, both of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Ada Hopkins, Nicholasville, KY, and Betty McDonald, Lexington, KY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a special niece, Martha Sue Bowman.

Pallbearers were Billy Gardner, Brandan Wright, George Beaman, Charles Howard, Jackie Young, and Johnny Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Wright, Howard Young, and Henry Howard.
