Ollie Mae Raines
Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Mae Raines, 83, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2001, from the Holly Springs Church of Christ with Bro. Tom Greenwood and Bro. James Hunter officiating. Burial was in the Holly Springs cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Raines died Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holly Springs Church of Christ.

Born May 4, 1918, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Velar (Sutton) Raines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, P.J. Raines, Jewell Raines, Tom Raines, Vestal Raines, and Willie Raines; and a sister, Edith Talley.

Survivors include four nieces, Marie Ayers, Josephine Hollows, and Burmah Garrett, all of Hilham, and Joanne Etheridge, Oak Ridge.

Lonnie Simpson
Funeral services for Mr. Lonnie "Suitcase' Simpson, 57, of Alpine, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in the Falling Springs cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Simpson died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at his home. He was a factory worker and a member of the Falling Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Born December 14, 1943, in Fentress County, he was the son of James and Hillie (Cravens) Simpson. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Stephen Paul Murphy.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Teddy Rose (Murphy) Simpson, Alpine; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donnie and Stephine Simpson, and Michael Simpson, all of Alpine; four sisters, Flonnie Cooper, Treva Norris, and Brenda Cooper, all of Alpine, and Linda King, Jamestown; three brothers, Lester Simpson, Alpine, Jimmy Simpson, Monroe, and Jackie Simpson, Hilham; grandparents, James and Hillie Simpson, Alpine; and three grandchildren, Lora Beth Simpson, James Robert Lonnie Simpson, and Stephen Samuel Simpson.

Pallbearers were Ronald Cooper, Joe Cooper, Tollie King, Mark Murphy, Darrell Norris, and Dale Norris.

Thomas Elliot Hibbs
Funeral services for Master Thomas Elliot Hibbs, infant son of Chris and Emily (Montgomery) Hibbs, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2001, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Cecil Shaw officiating. Burial was in the Netherland cemetery near Rickman, with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Master Hibbs was born and died Wednesday, September 5, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom Hibbs and Larry and Pamela Montgomery; and great grandparents, Bill and Marine Garrett, Wilma Sue Hibbs, David Montgomery, and Mitchell Flatt.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Kent and Tina (Hibbs) Atchley, Livingston; great grandparents, Leonard and Dean Hibbs, Livingston, Magdalene Montgomery and Betty Flatt, both of Granville, and Paul and Faye Atchley, Allons; a great-great grandfather, Luther Davis, Allons; an uncle, David Montgomery, Monterey; and an aunt, Jane Montgomery, Monterey.

Geraldine B. Joseph
Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine B. Joseph, 73, of Hilham, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Myers officiating. Burial was in the Crawford Family cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Joseph died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired auto factory worker of General Motors in Dayton, OH and a member of the Church of Christ.

Born January 11, 1928, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Bertha (Crawford) Barnes. In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Junior Bliss and Elvin Joseph. Survivors include a sister, Dorise Crabtree, Hilham; a nephew, Buddy Crabtree, Rickman; four nieces, Barbara McCloud and Betty Winningham, both of Cookeville, Wanda Harris, Rickman, and Beverly (Crabtree) Green, Hilham; and six great nieces and great nephews, Jake Crabtree, Kirk Oakley, Shelly Copeland, K.L. Winningham, Megan Winningham, and Alex Winningham.

Pallbearers were O.J. McCloud, Kenny Winningham, Buddy Crabtree, Lester Green, Jake Crabtree, Cody Green, and Donnie Harris.

Landsen B. Ramsey
Funeral services for Mr. Landsen B. Ramsey, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch and Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ramsey died Wednesday, September 26, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a factory worker and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Alpine.

Born August 7, 1926, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Radford and Mary (Walker) Ramsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cella Swack and Zella Ramsey, and a brother, Roy Ramsey.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Ramsey, Livingston; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Oral Ramsey, and Allen and Nancy Ramsey, all of Livingston; a step-son, Danny Ray Barker, Indiana; a step-daughter, Janie Potter, Maryville; two brothers, Junior Ramsey, Hilham, and Ray Ramsey, Livingston; six sisters, Della Boswell, Elise Cantrell, Rillie Hill, and Marie Greenwood, all of Livingston, Stella Stafford, Lebanon, and Alice Cole, Allons; a granddaughter, Gina Ramsey, Livingston; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jay Ramsey, Mike Ramsey, Billy Cole Jr., Mike Holton, Colonel Doug Young, Chris Cantrell, Mark Ramsey, and Joey Hill. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Tony Hill, Joe Ramsey, Bobby Smith, Chuck Smith, and Benton Smith.

Nettie L. Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie L. Smith, 82, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2001, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro, with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Pharris cemetery in the McCoinsville Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Smith died Sunday, October 7, 2001, at the Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was a retired sorter for the Salvation Army.

Born January 23, 1919, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Will Lee and Ferrie Lynn Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include four sons, Curtis Smith, Richard Smith, and Rodney Smith, all of Gainesboro, and Douglas Randall Smith, Dayton, OH; a daughter, Brenda (Smith) Morris, Gainesboro; two brothers, Herman Lee, Springfield, OH, and Willie Lee, Dayton, OH; four sisters, Oma Evers, California, Agnes Stafford, Dayton,OH, Johnnie Daniels, Livingston, and Josie Fields, Williamsburg, OH; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

Grace Dean White Wisdom
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Dean White Wisdom, 91, of Albany, KY, were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 1999, from the chapel of Talbot Funeral Home in Albany, KY, with Rev. Tom Halliburton officiating. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Talbot Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Wisdom, owner of Wisdom Oil Company in Albany, KY, and former owner of Wisdom Fishing Camp in Albany, KY, died Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at Clinton County Hospital in Albany, KY.

Born July 30, 1908, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late J.A.M. and Cora Etha West White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wisdom; and ten brothers and sisters, Caedna Wilmot, Ryman Haskel White, Allie White Gore, Charles Dudley White, Lillian Vesta White McBee, Lois Lee White, Elleta White Long, Beeland E. White, Imogene White Copeland, and Fred C. White.

She was a member of First Methodist Church in Livingston.

Survivors include a sister, Zela White, Livingston; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mike Copeland, Fred White, Jody Stevens, Wendell Bertram, Randall Polson, Ralph Lee, Wendell Jones, and Agnal Slone.

Gordon William Beason
Funeral services for Mr. Gordon William Beason, 66, of Monroe, were conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Cletis Beason and Bro. Perry Clayton officiating. Burial was in Nelson cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Beason, a retired brick mason, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at the Overton County Nursing Home.

Born September 8, 1933, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Gordon Washington and Clara Jane (Garrett) Beason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Beason.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Walter James Beason, Kokomo, IN, and Gordon William Beason Jr., Waynesboro; three brothers, Kermit Lee Beason, Pennsylvania, John Haggard Beason, Monroe, and Danny Leonard Beason, Lakeland, FL; four sisters, Clara Ann Bilbrey, Janie Charline Long, Brenda Kay Garrett, all of Livingston, Georgia Faye Taylor, Linda B. Dishman, both of Anderson, IN, and Lizzie Mae Reeder, Cookeville; and three grandchildren.

Eugene Forrest Eavenson
Graveside services for Mr. Eugene Forrest Eavenson, 65, of Rickman, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2000, from Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, FL, with Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Orange Park, FL, in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Eavenson, a retired forklift operator from Winn-Dixie, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born January 11, 1935, in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Mayo Eugene and Virginia (Forrest) Eavenson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Joe Mitchell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Eavenson, Rickman; a son, Michael Eavenson, Jacksonville, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Lonnie Herron, Clover, SC; two step-daughters and step sons-in-law, Cheryl and Tony Yoder, Smyrna, and Sheila and Terry Larson, Cookeville; three step-sons and a step daughter-in-law, Darrell and Lesa Honadle, Charles Williams, and Dwain Williams, all of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren, Christopher Eavenson, Cody Herron, Jessica Dalton, Christopher Yoder, Hallie Larson, Trenton Larson, Rebecca Honadle, and Jennifer Jones; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.

Gene Edward Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mr. Gene Edward Bilbrey, 45, of Rickman, were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Schmid and Rev. Benton Flatt officiating. Burial was in Carter Bilbrey cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Bilbrey, an employee of Algood Fire Extinguisher Service, died Friday, January 28, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 28, 1954, in Overton County, he was the son of Jewell Hunter and the step-son of Kenneth Hunter, both of Algood.

He was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Marla K. (Long) Bilbrey, Rickman; two daughters, Miranda Bilbrey and Gina Bilbrey, both of Rickman; two brothers, Bobby Hunter, Rickman, and Ricky Hunter, California; two sisters, Jane Ann Tidwell, Cookeville, and Vicki Roberts, Algood; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Chris McCormick, Shane Nelson, Frankie Dixon, Blake Medlin, David Qualls, and Jeremy 'Bear' Norris. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Brown and Robert Franklin.

Nona Langford Reeder
Funeral services for Mrs. Nona Langford Reeder, 94, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2000, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Allons with Rev. Ron Harris officiating. Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Reeder, a housewife, died January 26, 2000, at her home.

Born October 8, 1905, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Elmo and Jennie Guthrie Langford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death be her husband, Bennie Reeder; two sons, James Reeder and John L. Reeder; a brother, Harlon Langford; and a sister, Dora Maynord.

She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Anna Lois Reeder, Independence community; a daughter and son-in-law, Bennie Ruth and Cross Robbins, Livingston; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rusty Robbins, Jimmy Robbins, Bobby Reeder, Bill Reeder, Billy Maynord, Ralph Carr, Delton Langford, and Bulos Martin.

Honorary pallbearers were Leon Reeder, Harlis Reeder, Inez Thrasher, Derward Vaughn, Anne Vaughn, Jean Tayes, Betty Jo Page, Judy Daves, Revis Martin, Quality Home Health Staff, and Dr. Michael Cox and staff.

Virgie Ann Dulcenia Hooks
Funeral services for Mrs. Virgie Ann Dulcenia Hooks, 91, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Old Union cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hooks, a retired factory worker, died Thursday, January 27, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born June 16, 1908, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Maggie (Talley) Dickerson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Alvin Hooks; two sons, Claude Hooks, and Charles Junior Hooks; a brother, Johnny Dickerson; and a half-brother, Oscar Dickerson.

She was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include three sons, Earl Hooks, Burr Hooks, both of Livingston, and Willie D. Hooks, Cookeville; three daughters, Betty Barlow, Nadine Brown, both of Rickman, and Catherine Bull, Gainesboro; two half-brothers, Archie Dickerson, Dayton, OH, and Oakley Dickerson, Livingston; two half-sisters, Lizzie Sullivan, Hilham, and Lucille Dillon, Dayton, OH; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great grandchildren; and 13 step-great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randy Greenwood, Bobby Greenwood, Phillip Hooks, David Hooks, Steven Barlow, Troy Pennington, and Michael Murphy.
