Meikle Bilbrey
Funeral services for Miss Meikle Bilbrey, 88, of the Spring Creek Community of Overton County, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, from the Algood Chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Paran cemetery in Overton County with Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Miss Bilbrey died Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

Born Jan. 10, 1913, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late J.D. "Dock" and Alva (Bilbrey) Bilbrey. Survivors include a niece, Odell Kathryn Huddleston, Cookeville; and three nephews and two nieces-in-law, John and Etoyle Warren, Nashville, and Bruce and Beverly Bilbrey and Ben Bilbrey, all of Phoenix, AZ.

Pallbearers were Tim Richardson, Mike Richardson, Ronnie Bilyeu, Jack Smith, Bill Dodson, Bill Rankin, Phillip Clark, Bobby Gentry, and Haskell Qualls.

Doris B. Boles
Funeral services for Mr. Doris B. Boles, 70, of Canton Township, MI, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Holger Neubaue officiating. Burial was in Maxwell Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Boles died Friday, Nov. 2 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, MI. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 31 years, was a member of the Church of Christ for 25 years and an usher for 25 years.

Born May 2, 1931, in Defeated Creek, he was the son of the late William Perry and Myrtle (Pigg) Boles.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Boles, Canton Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Patty Boles, Livingston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley and Charles Justice, Newport, MI, Theresa Boles and Catherine and Richard Torz, all of Canton Township; three brothers, Dumas Boles, New Middleston, TN, James Boles, Brush Creek, and Robert Boles, Gainesboro; a sister, Martha Mae Petty, Gordonsville; and seven grandchildren.

C.C. "Cliff" Dailey
Graveside services with military honors for Mr. C.C. "Cliff" Dailey, 79, of Charlotte, NC, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Sharon Memorial Park with Rev. Linda Roth officiating. Burial was in Sharon Memorial Park with Hankins & Whittington Dilworth Chapel in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Dailey died Monday, Sept. 24 at his home. He attended Livingston Academy and Tennessee Tech University. He served in the South Pacific in the US Army during World War II. He retired after 38 years as terminal manager of Estes Express and was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.

Born Sept. 27, 1922, in Hilham, he was the son of the late Ben Blue and Ella Mae (Price) Dailey.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Dailey, Charlotte; a daughter, Sharon Dailey, Charlotte; a brother, Jack Dailey, Mobile, AL; a sister, Willie Combs, Mobile; and beloved companions, Tuffles and Suds.

Agnes Johns
Agnes Johns, 80, of Livingston, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at her home. Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home of Cookeville was in charge of cremation arrangements. She was a retired sales clerk and of the Methodist faith.

Born May 22, 1921, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Hurley) Plesco. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ward V. Johns; two sisters, Flossie Blankenship and Clara Sarvas; and three brothers, Nick C. Plesco, Johnny Plesco, and Woodrow Plesco.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Jim Slinker, Livingston; a sister, Helen Shouse, Murfreesboro; and a brother, Jack Plesco, Columbus, OH.

Marie Pugh
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Pugh, 81, of Monterey, were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, from Monterey United Methodist Church with Rev. David Adams officiating. Goff Funeral Home of Monterey was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Pugh died Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church, Monterey Garden Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Born Sept. 3, 1920, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Dalton and Lillie (Kennedy) Dillon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Dillon.

Survivors include her husband, James C. Pugh, Monterey; a daughter, Theresa Pugh, Monterey; two sisters, Reba Susi, Milford, CT, and Jane Ray, Monterey; two brothers, Jack Dillon, Sun City, FL, and Bill Dillon, Fair Haven, MI; and a granddaughter, Beth Mills, Murfreesboro.

Carl E. Boman
Funeral services for Mr. Carl E. Boman, 71, of San Antonio, TX, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2001, from the chapel of Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio. Burial was in the Mission Burial Park North cemetery with Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in charge of the arrangements.

Born May 10, 1930, in Crawford, Mr. Boman died Wednesday, August 22, 2001 in San Antonio.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Boman, San Antonio; a daughter and son-in-law, Valeria and Dan Grimes; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Boman, and Dale and Rita Boman; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Gerry Schlinskery, Ana and Jim Herndon, and Eva Looper; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill and Kathy Boman, and Albert Boman; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Mary Blanche Davis
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Blanche Davis, 86, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Pulley officiating. Burial was in the Good Hope cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at her home. She was a housewife, member of First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Livingston VFW Auxillary, and American Legion Auxillary.

Born October 1, 1914, in Mountain City, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Mary Talbott (Vaughn) Lansden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Davis; and a son, James Thomas Davis.

Survivors include three sons and a two daughters-in-law, Bill and Faye Davis, Jack and Diane Davis, and Joe Davis, all of Livingston; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Gary Fred Jolley, Livingston; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were William Davis, Michael Davis, Michael Vaughn, Scotty Baldwin, Ralph Lanier, Mark Amundson, Tom Jolley, and Chuck Davis.

Scott Eugene Wright
Funeral services for Mr. Scott Eugene Wright, 91, of Cookeville were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2001, from the Rickman chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in the Paran cemetery with Rickman Chapel of Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wright died Friday, August 24, 2001, at White County Hospital. He was an auto body repairer and a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII.

Born June 30, 1910, in Fentress County, he was the son of the late Grover Cleve and Ada Alice (Allred) Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherdie (Shelton) Wright.

Survivors include a son, Larry Wright, Rickman; three brothers, George Wright, Algood, Parnell Wright, Rickman, and Quincey Wright, Dayton, OH; and a grandson, Sam Wright.

Pallbearers were George Wright, Parnell Wright, Ray Wright, Daniel Wright, Johnnie Fleming, and Ernie Williams.

Fred Carver Webb
Funeral services for Mr. Fred Carver Webb, 85, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2001, from the chapel of Livingston Church of Christ with Bro. Chris Coil and Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial was in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Webb died Thursday, August 23, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired school teacher, member of the Livingston Church of Christ, Overton County Lions Club, Overton County Retired Teachers Association, and served on the board of directors of Overton County Pacesetters.

Born October 9, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Oliver Sherman and Dessie (Carr) Webb.

Survivors include his wife, Edna R. Webb, Livingston; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Diana Webb and Danny Webb, all of Livingston; a sister, Elsie Evridge, Michigan; two grandchildren, Eric Webb, Nashville, and Denise Gross, Franklin; two great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mike Garrett, Ray Gilpatrick, Ted Webb, Bruce Harris, Robert McDonald, Bill Warren, Fred Amonett, and Delon Robbins. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Elders and Deacons of the Livingston Church of Christ, Lions Club, and retired teachers.

Pearl (Bilyeu) Stonecipher
Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl (Bilyeu) Stonecipher, 90, of Shelbyville, formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2001, from the chapel of Feldhaus Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Murphree officiating. Burial was in the Cookeville cemetery with Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Stonecipher died Friday, August 24, 2001, at her home. She was an elementary school teacher for 32 years, the last 17 at Eakin Elementary. She retired in 1977, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Joy Sunday School Class, and First Baptist Church.

Born in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Zua (Jackson) Bilyeu.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Parrish, Shelbyville; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Willard Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mr. Willard Bilbrey, 77, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. The Honor Guard from James T. Davis, VFW Post 5062 performed a military service with full military honors at graveside. Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Bilbrey died Friday, Jan. 4 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a retired school maintenance supervisor, a member and deacon of the Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church, VFW James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062, and a veteran of the U.S. Army/World War II.

Born April 21, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mae (Beasley) Bilbrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Carlton Lee Bilbrey and Larry Willard Bilbrey; and a grandson, Kevin Haney.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Bilbrey, Rickman; two daughters, Barbara June Haney, Anderson, IN, and Brenda Gail Collins, Murfreesboro; four brothers, James Bilbrey and Kenneth Bilbrey, both of Rickman, Clyde Lee Bilbrey, Indianapolis, IN, and Ronald Bilbrey, Anderson, IN; three sisters, Johnnie Hogue, Anderson, Corene Cravens, Columbia, and Faye McCowan, Rickman; six grandchildren, Willard Haney, Angelia Pickett, Tina Zapotocky, Jennifer Collins, Jason Bilbrey, and Carla Bilbrey; and 10 great grandchildren.

John Lee Wright
Funeral services for Mr. John Lee Wright, 28, of Hilham, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Bull officiating. Burial was in Old Union cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wright died Friday, Jan. 4 at Cumberland River Hospital. He was a factory worker and a member of the Turkey Town Church.

Born March 16, 1973, in Munice, IN, he was the son of Robert and Linda (Nickol) Wright of Hilham.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Tracy Wright, Hilham; a son, Noah Wright, Hilham; a brother, Bobby Wright, Hilham; a sister, Melissa Jones, Hilham; a grandmother, Margaret Beaty, Munice; three nieces, Amanda, Destini, and Alyssa; two nephews, Robert and Joey; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Lee Collins
Funeral services for Mr. Lee Collins, 80, of Gainesboro, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 15, 2002, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Edwin Moore officiating. Burial will be in John L. Clark Memorial cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Collins died Monday, May 13 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Berkline and retired auctioneer, a charter member of the VFW Post 5266, former resident of Livingston and Morristown, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born July 10, 1921, in Hamblen County, he was the son of the late Jessee and Daisy (Watts) Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James A. Dukes; a brother, Carroll Collins; and a sister, Ruth Smith.

Survivors include his wife, June (Dukes) Collins, Gainesboro; a son, John Collins, Gordonsville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Melissa and Troy D. York, Gainesboro, and Martha Quinton, Morristown; and six grandchildren, Leisa Albertson, Cynthia Lane, Isaac Quinton, Todd Smith, Lee Smith, and Bonnie Bowman.

Reva Cooper
Funeral services for Mrs. Reva Cooper, 58, of Albany, KY, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Buck and Rev. Jerry Buck officiating. Burial was in Ferrell cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Cooper died Monday, May 6 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was a housewife and member of Cookeville Baptist Temple.

Born June 10, 1943, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Sewell and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Ledbetter.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Cooper, Albany; three sons, Johnnie Keith, Henning, TN, and Mark Keith and Christopher Keith, both of Cookeville; two daughters, Jo Wheeler, Baxter, and Shirley Richards, Buffalo Valley; three brothers, Jerry Ledbetter and Quitman Ledbetter, both of Livingston, and Ernest Ledbetter, Michigan; seven sisters, Fay Eldridge, Bloomington Springs, Myrtle Hargis, Monterey, Emma Davis and Lela Kuykendall, both of Cookeville, Virgie Carter, Dayton, OH, Clara Rodrigues, Michigan, and Novie Cope, Alpine; 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randy Mayberry, Billy Mayberry, Randy Ledbetter, Bobby Eldridge, Eddie Duncan, and Buddy Ledbetter.
