Charles Richard Brown
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Richard Brown, 68, of Cookeville, were conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, November 1, 1999, from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Okolana cemetery with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brown, an Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency probation officer, former road superintendent, dairy farmer, and active member of the Artificial Breeding Association, died Saturday, October 30, 1999, at his home.

Born July 6, 1931, in White County, he was the son of the late Willie Hugh and Floy Edna Vickers Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lee Brown, and a brother, David Brown.

He was a member of the Livingston Lodge #259.

Survivors include his son, Mance Brown, Cookeville; two daughters, Pat Copeland, Rickman, and Charla Brown Gardner, Chattanooga; three sisters, Joyce Breeding, AL, Anita Tinch, and Linda Bilbrey both of Cookeville; five grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Mitch Copeland, Billy Poston, Horace Poston, Craig Fouts, David Reid, and Charles Tinch. Honorary pallbearers were 'Ossie' Mitchell, Keaton Cooper, Charles 'Chig' Parrott, Otis Mason, Lecil Huffer, Dr. Jack Roe, Bill Qualls, Owen Reid, Wallace Reid, Horace Roberts, W.C. Poston, Kenneth Winningham, and Charles Floyd Qualls, Jr.

Willis Terry Johnson
Funeral services for Mr. Willis Terry Johnson, 73, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Johnson, an insurance agent for Speck-Hyder Funeral home for 17 years and a fur and ginseng dealer, died Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born June 4, 1926, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Bee and Dollie White Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Parrot and Irene Pennington, and two brothers, McCloyd Johnson and Claudie B. Johnson.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Livingston and a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie B. Johnson, Livingston; a son, David Terry Johnson, Gallatin; four daughters, Angela Gore, Gainesboro, Nancy Young, Monroe, Leigh Ann Simcox, and Sherry Maynord both of Livingston; a brother, Paul Johnson, Livingston; a sister, Clarice Cotter, Tacoma, WA; a sister-in-law, Mary Johnson, Celina; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kelly Hull, Ronnie Maynord, Jeff Young, Michael Kiser, Mike Maynord, and Wade Mahan.

Johnnie Ruth Padgett
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Padgett, 65, of Monroe, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Winningham officiating. Burial was in Padgett cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Padgett, a retired C.N.A., died Sunday, October 24, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born December 8, 1933, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Cortis and Ruby Ledbetter Allred. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Ray Padgett.

She was a member of Monroe Community Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry David and Shelia Padgett, Jamestown; a daughter, Kaye Davis, Monroe; four brothers, Richard Allred, Odessa, TX, Earl Allred, La Messa, TX, Gene Allred, Livingston, and Michael Allred, Only; two sisters, Betty Craiget and Charlene McMahan, both of Livingston; three grandchildren, Stacy Kingery, Allons, and Matt Padgett and Ryan Davis, both of Monroe; a great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Kenneth McMahan, Steven McMahan, Woody McMahan, Don Ford, Ben Winningham, and Charles Craiget.

Eunice R. (Claborn) Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Eunice R. (Claborn) Smith, 84, of Allons, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Cletis Beason officiating. Burial was in the Fellowship cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, a homemaker, died Sunday, April 30, 2000 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born February 12, 1916, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna Claborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eather James Smith; a son, James Lewis Smith; and a sister, Elma Brown.

She was a member of the Summer Shade Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Janetta Taylor, Monroe, Edwina Burchett, Livingston; three sisters, Addie Melton, Allons, Inas Vaughn, Akron, OH, and Allene Maynard, Cookeville; a brother, Welmon Claborn, Gallatin; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Larry Taylor, Steve Taylor, Allen Taylor, Jeff Young, Jonathan Cummings, and Jeffery Cummings.

Nortin Haskel Garrett
Funeral services for Mr. Nortin Haskel Garrett, 67, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Terry McCloud officiating. Burial was in the Wirmingham cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Garrett, who worked at Pacesetter's, died Monday, April 24, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 29, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Joel Sparks Garrett and Telia Reagan Garrett.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one brother, Avle (Doc) Garrett, Livingston; two sisters, Margie Marise and Norma Smith, both of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Richard Lee, Johnny Lee, David Garrett, Terry Williams, Junior Hargis, and Rex Roberson.

William Carmel Jackson
Funeral services for Mr. William Carmel Jackson, 75, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville with Bro. Howard Dailey officiating. Burial was in Sam Flatt cemetery in Jackson County with Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jackson, a retired General Motors machinist, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born December 18, 1924, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Cleo (Flatt) Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tula Eudell (Thomas) Jackson; a son, Ronald Jackson; and a sister, Mildred Farley.

He was a retired minister.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Ison and Carol Moore, both of Rickman; two sons, Donald Jackson, Rickman, and Daniel Jackson, Alpine; a sister, Ella Emogene Smith, Bloomington Springs; three brothers, Henry Jackson, Cookeville, Thurman "Gum" Jackson, Double Springs, and Ernest Jackson, Bloomington Springs; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

Myrtle Allene Reagan
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Allene Reagan, 75, of Monroe, were conducted at 12 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Reagan, a housewife, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Born March 15, 1924, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late George Edward Taylor and Maggie Angeline Conner Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Farley Grant Reagan; and a son, Farley Odell Reagan.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include four sons, Shirley Reagan, Allons, James Reagan, Gary Reagan, and Bobby Reagan, all of the Taylors Crossroads community; five daughters, Joann Carter, Cookeville, Kay Reagan, Taylors Crossroads, Shelia Winningham, Byrdstown, Sue Thompson and Billie Poston, both of Livingston; a brother, Milburn Taylor, Heard Ridge Community; four sisters, Melissa Taylor, Fairfield, IL, Gladys Smith, Anderson, IN, Ezell Reagan and Arxie Reagan, both of Heard Ridge Community; 19 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gary Reagan, Jason Thompson, Jamie Reagan, Joey Reagan, Chris Reagan, Marty Reagan, Brad Reagan, and Dustin Winningham.

Berta Leora Reid
Funeral services for Mrs. Berta Leora Reid, 86, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Eckel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Reid, a housewife, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at Overton County Nursing Home.

Born September 29, 1913, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Minnie Elizabeth Gore Neal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Reid; a sister, Dean Reid; and a brother, Will Neal.

She was a member of Okolona United Methodist Church, and attended Sulfur Community Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Shelby Reid, Livingston; a brother, Homer Neal, Rickman; two sisters, Louverna Matthews, Livingston, and Eva Swallows, Rickman; two grandchildren, Libby and husband Kenneth Allen, and Tim and wife Lisa Reid, all of Livingston; and six great grandchildren.

Reba Vaughn
Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Olene Vaughn, 72, of Monterey, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 1999, from the chapel of Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Whittaker officiating. Burial was in Welch Memorial cemetery with Horner Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Vaughn, a nurses aid at Standing Stone Health Care Center, died Friday, October 29, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born March 4, 1927, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Landers Cleghorn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Herman Vaughn; a son, Gary Crisp; three brothers, Billy Ray Cleghorn, Junior Cleghorn, and Jim Cleghorn; and a grandson, Eugene Crisp.

She was a member of Vines Ridge Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie "Joe" and Judy Vaughn, Cookeville; three sisters, Treva Payton, Bobbie Jean Key, and Rosemary Hagerman, all of Anderson, IN; two grandchildren, Marcie Vaughn, Monterey, and Rhonda Crisp, Livingston; and a great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Donnie Fritts, Ken Voiles, John Hagerman, Ronnie Matthews, Johnnie Matthews, and Donnie Matthews. Honorary pallbearers were management and staff of Standing Stone Health Care Center.

Clarence Junior Harp
Graveside services for Mr. Clarence Junior Harp, 52, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2000, from the Carter-Bilbrey cemetery with Rev. Ferrell Looper officiating. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Harp, a self-employed painter, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born September 19, 1947, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Rhoda Cole Harp.

He was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Harp and Charles Harp, both of Livingston; mother of his children, Louise Dial Allred, Livingston; two brothers, Aubry Harp, Monterey, and James Mack Harp, Michigan; and a granddaughter. Pallbearers were Roger Harp, Charles Harp, Terry Ray, Jessie Taylor, Bob Smith, and Bill Ray.

Willodean Norrod
Funeral services for Mrs. Willodean Norrod, 47, of the Love Joy Community, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2000, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. David Harris officiating. Burial was in the Muddy Pond cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Norrod, a factory worker, died Sunday, September 10, 2000, at her home.

Born November 24, 1952, in Monterey, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rinda Vaughn Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Murphy.

Survivors include her husband, Beecher Norrod, Love Joy Community; three sisters, Betty Farley, Love Joy Community, Lori Norrod, Clarkrange, and Norene Essary, Crossville; and a brother, Damon Murphy, Crossroads Community.

Audra Effie Skinner
Funeral services for Mrs. Audra Effie Skinner, 82, of Columbus, IN, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Bill Ramsey officiating. Burial was in the Campground cemetery with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Skinner, a housewife, died Thursday, September 7, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born June 19, 1918, in Moss, she was the daughter of the late Luther Smith and Elizie Cherry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Skinner; three brothers, Vancil Smith, Gerv Smith, and Tad Smith; a sister, Crayton Murray; and a granddaughter, Shawna Marie Skinner. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Sue Skinner, Hilham; two sisters, Odean Likens, Columbus, IN, and Eselene Anderson, Sullivan, IL; a grandson, Michael Joseph Skinner, Hilham.
