Buford C. Holt
Funeral services for Mr. Buford C. Holt, 71, of Greenwood, IN, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina. Burial was in McDonald cemetery in Hilham with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Holt died Thursday, May 16 at his home. He was employed at the Chrysler Electrical Plant in Indianapolis, starting in 1953.

He then became president of UAW Local 1226 and served for 10 years. Mr. Holt was on the 1970 UAW National Negotiating Committee for Chrysler Corporation, achieving the breakthrough "30 and Out" pension plan. He was the UAW Region 3 international representative. He also served as the Marion County Community Action Program Council Chairperson. He served as a Lobbyist for the UAW International Union for the state of Indiana. At the time of his death he served as the UAW Area 11 retiree chapter chairman in which he founded the Senior Advocacy Program. In 1973, he joined the board County Community Action Program Chairperson of the Metropolitan Health Council, which managed the MetroHealth Plan and three neighborhood health centers. He continued to serve as a board member until his death. He also served as a board member of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Unemployment Insurance Board from 1995 to 1999. He received the Sagamore of the Wabash awards on two separate occasions from Gov. Evan Bayh and Gov. Frank O'Bannon. He also received the Kentucky Colonel award by Gov. John Y. Brown and the UAW Walter Reuther Award. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Franklin Church of Christ in Franklin, IN.

Born July 13, 1930, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Annie (Cherry) Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Versie Fikes and Lizzie (Holt) Langford; and three brothers, Comer Holt, Leon Holt, and Larma Holt.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva (Fikes) Holt, Greenwood; a daughter, Kathy Stanley, Greenwood; two brothers, Mayford Holt, Hilham, and Johnnie Holt, Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Lola Ayers, Celina; and a granddaughter, Macey Moreland, Greenwood.

Thomas Estil Warden
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Estil Warden, 87, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Warden died Tuesday, May 14 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired self-employed brick mason and a member and deacon of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Born October 14, 1914, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Harvey and Laura (Thompson) Warden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gertie Clark; two brothers, Oscar Warden and Alvia Warden; and a grandson, Eddie Allen Warden.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Villa Warden, Livingston; two sons, Howard U.L. Warden and Gerald Warden, both of Livingston; a daughter, Wynell Warden, Livingston; four sisters, Bonnie Hunter, Livingston, and Roxie Rustin, Jessie Mae Dodson, and Mona Rakowski, all of Indiana; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were the elders and deacons of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Argyle A. Turner
Funeral services for Mr. Argyle Turner, 76, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Steele officiating. Burial was in Padgett cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Turner died Thursday, May 16 at his home. He was a carpenter, of the Baptist faith, a member of the West Fork Lodge #648 and Byrdstown Lodge, and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Born March 4, 1926, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Johnnie A. and Barbara E. (Padgett) Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Turner, Hershall Turner, and Owensby Turner; and two infant sisters.

Survivors include three brothers, Comer Turner, Indianapolis, IN, Osby Turner, Alpine, and Carlos Katto Turner, Livingston; a sister, Marieda Turner, Alpine; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were George Sells, Terry Turner, Darrell Denny, Jim Grindstaff, Carl Turner, and Junior Denny.

Kathleen Margaret Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Margaret Smith, 74, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Kerry Duke officiating. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, May 14 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a sales clerk and of the Roman Catholic faith.

Born April 19, 1928, in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Susan (Gibbons) O'Conner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian T. Smith; and a son, Thomas Smith.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Patty Smith, Livingston; a brother, Jack O'Conner, Omaha; and two grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Airica and L.G. Puckett IV and Brandon Smith, all of Livingston.

Pallbearers were Neil Ashburn, David Webb, L.G. Puckett IV, Brandon Smith, Mark Houser, and Bennie Thompson.

Mary Delpha (Boles) Crabtree
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Delpha (Boles) Crabtree, 90, of Monroe, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in Turkey Town cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Crabtree died Wednesday, May 15 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Born January 12, 1912, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Mast and Delia (Trent) Boles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Crabtree; and a sister, Eva Mae Boles.

Survivors include two daughters, Dean Copeland, Monroe, and Evalene Heady, Cookeville; a sister, Clyde Boles, Celina; grandchildren, Kathy Mathis, David Boles, Jimmy Davis, James and Illene Beechboard, Brittany Davis, and Kristen Davis, all of Livingston, Kenny Heady, Alan Heady, and Tommy Heady, all of Cookeville; nine great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Fred Baker, Donald McGuire, Haskell Cox, Donnie Phillips, Danny Hooten, and Willis Kirk.

Margaret Lee Morris
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Lee Morris, 69, of Allons, formerly of Memphis, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002, from the chapel of Northridge/Woodhaven Funeral Home. Burial was in Northridge/Woodhaven cemetery with Northridge/Woodhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Morris died Friday, May 10 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Morris, Allons; two daughters, Connie Frazier, Cookeville, and Tanya Cunningham, Clinton, CT; a son, Jon Morris, Allons; a sister, Doris Marbry, Brownsville; three brothers, L.D. Brigman and Willie Brigman, both of Memphis, and John Brigman Jr., Horn Lake; and four grandchildren.

OTTIS GARRETT
Funeral services for Mr. Ottis Garrett, 77, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2000, from the chapel of Byrdstown Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Gibbs officiating. Burial was in the Story cemetery with Byrdstown Memorial Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Garrett, a retired funeral home assistant and factory worker, died Thursday, November 16, 2000, at his home.

Born April 22, 1923, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Quincy and Lola (Hill) Garrett.

Survivors include his wife, Marchie Smith Garrett, Byrdstown; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Wanda Garrett, Martinsville, IN; two daughters, Dianne Garrett, Cookeville, and Cheryl Savage, Livingston; a brother, Buster Garrett, Monroe; and three grandchildren, Stephanie Garrett, Joey DeDominicis, and Stacy Staggs.

William Clyde Gore
Funeral services for Mr. William Clyde Gore, 90, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 29, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Loftis officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Gore, a retired factory worker for Chrysler in Detroit, MI, died Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born September 19, 1909, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Bryant Dayton and Ella Mae Ray Gore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Carley Gore, Charley Gore, Cecil Gore, Ray Gore, and Deloy Gore; and a sister, Lucille Poston.

He was a member of Netherland Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Ann Gore, Cookeville; a daughter, Brenda J. Keisling, Cookeville; a brother, Carey Gore, Livingston; a sister, Christine Ledbetter, Cookeville; and two grandchildren, Bruce L. Keisling and Stacey A. Marino.

Pallbearers were Mike Webb, John Randolph, Donnie Holman, Bob Roberson, Calvin Bilbrey, and Bill Barnes.

Larry Marvin Brown
Funeral services for Mr. Larry Marvin Brown, 61, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Dulworth officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brown, a farmer, died Friday, October 22, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 15, 1938, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Marvin Dee and Tissie White Brown.

He attended Fredonia Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Brown, Livingston; a son, Greg Brown, Livingston; a daughter and son-in-law, Gena and Kevin Norrod, Manchester; a sister, Joanna Coleman, Livingston; a grandson, Colton Norrod.

Pallbearers were Doug Ledbetter, Ronnie Sells, Bill Boswell, Cameron Bates, Bob Bilbrey, and Casey Hunter.

Fred Davis
Funeral services for Mr. Fred Davis, 68, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Glenn Masters and Rev. Tracy Langford officiating. Burial was in Old Union cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Davis, a retired employee of Tennessee Technological University maintenance department, died Thursday, October 21, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born in March of 1931, he was the son of the late Andy and Hazel Brown Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James Davis, Herb Davis, Roy Davis, and Carl Davis.

He was a member of Aarons Chapel Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Davis, Livingston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Rita Davis, Livingston, and Danny and Bonnie Davis, Celina; two brothers, Pete Davis and Sam Davis, both of Hilham; three sisters, Bonnie Edmonds, Hardy's Chapel Community, Bobbie Mabery, Detroit, MI, and Barbara Danner, Livingston; and three grandchildren, Shannan Davis, Amy Allred, and Moncia Weir.

Pallbearers were Ben Danner, Doug Davis, David Davis, Donald Davis, Ricky Sells, Keith Brown, and Steve Greenwood.

Charles Dillard Ledbetter
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Dillard Ledbetter, 70, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 1999, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Jimmy Cox officiating. Burial was in the Goodhope cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ledbetter, a self-employed window cleaner, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Born October 19, 1928, in Crawford, he was the son of the late Virgil and Ruth (Welch) Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Honeycutt and Treva Davis; and three brothers, Robert Ledbetter, Mirl Ledbetter, and Billy Ledbetter.

He was affiliated with the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Buck) Ledbetter, Livingston; two daughters, Rebbecca Clayton, Rickman, and Susan Baum, Chicago, IL; a son, Jayson Ledbetter, Livingston; two sisters, Alene Pitcock and Helen Grace, both of Red Boiling Springs; a brother, Buddy Ledbetter, Livingston; and three grandchildren, Robert Holt, Matthew Holt, and Brandon Clayton.

Pallbearers were Danny McDonald, Sammy Buck, Wayne Holt, Benny Buck, Randle Ledbetter, and Philip Davis.

Delmon Price Hall
Funeral services for Mr. Delmon Price Hall, 70, of Allons, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hall, a retired foreman at Anderson Matress Co., died Monday, May 31, 1999, at his home. Born June 9, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Benton and Dixie Ferrell Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence A. Matthews Hall.

He was a member of Eagles Lodge in Anderson, IN.

Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Hall and Ralph P. Hall, both of Anderson, IN; three daughters, Marie Zirkle and Debbie Hall, both of Anderson, IN, and Mildred Summers, Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers, Estel Hall, Florida, Robert C. Hall, Hermitage, and Doyle Hall, Allons; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
