Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edison "Pop" Glascock, 70, of Waverly, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 1999, from the Waverly chapel of Luff Bowen Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Brown and Bro. Paul Darety officiating. Burial was in Richlawn cemetery with Luff Bowen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Glascock died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Born February 24, 1929, in Livingston, he was the son of Homer Glascock of Livingston and the late Roxie Helen Johnson. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Dailey.
He was a member of Waverly Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Peacetime.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Mike Glascock, Waverly, and Randy Glascock, New Johnsonville; two daughters, Deborah Chance, New Johnsonville, and Kathy Hayes, Waverly; a sister, Joan Achor, California; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Sanford Marce Whited

Mr. Whited, a retired employee of Strohs Brewery, died Thursday, September 30, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born November 9, 1922, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Sanford and Myrtle (Smith) Whited Gunter.
Survivors include his wife, Dortha Whited, Baxter; and a brother, Harce Whited, Toledo, OH.
Pallbearers were Billy Steele, Duane Rhea, Bobby Steele, Carl Steele, Darrel Rhea, and Alesha West.
Johnie L. Crabtree
Funeral services for Mr. Johnie L. Crabtree, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Mr. Crabtree, a retired Overton Co. Highway Dept. employee, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born May 17, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Tobe and Martha Ann Ray Crabtree.
He was a member of Livingston Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Odell Crabtree, Livingston; a daughter, Ruth Smith; four step-sons, Charlie Hix and Larry Hix, Whitleyville, Bobby Hix, Gainesboro; and Gary Hix, Hermitage Springs; six step-daughters, Helen Browning and Jewell Dean Carrico, both of Indianapolis, IN, Edna Sue Smith, Red Boiling Springs, Barbara Smith, Ashland City, Donna Poteet, Gainesboro, and Deborah Holman, Livingston; a sister, Dora Anderson, Hilham; and two grandchildren, Scotty Staggs and Edd Hammock.
Lucille Gibson

Mrs. Gibson, a homemaker, died Wednesday, September 22, 1999, at her residence. Born April 9, 1928, in Stearns, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jeff and Flora Mae (Phillips) Stephens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Birchel Gibson; a son, Birchel David Gibson; and two sisters, Nobel Stephens and Juanita Dorey.
She was affiliated with the Full Gospel Church in Cookeville.
Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Phillips, Hilham; two sons, Charles Gibson, Youngstown, OH, and Jackie Fugate, Tampa, FL; two brothers, Beecher Stephens, Kendallville, IN, and Eugene Stephens, Covington, OH; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

James Lee Ledbetter

Born August 26, 1957, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Leonard S. and Emma Lucille Peek Ledbetter.
Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Dulworth, Celina, and Syble Kirby, Cookeville; four nephews; and a great niece.

Born November 28, 1916, in Hancock, MI, he was the son of the late Richard Edward and Lena Cowling Lampshire.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Lampshire, Livingston; a son, Richard Lampshire, St. Peter, MN; a daughter, Vickie Brown, Livingston; a sister, Violet Pallard, Michigan; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Lester Edker (Toot) Pennington

Born April 29, 1922, in Clay County, he was the son of the late James and Annie (Spivey) Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe A. Pennington, Paul Pennington, George Pennington, Billy Pennington, and Chester Pennington; and a step-sister, Anna Geesling.
He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and American Legion, and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Ramey "M.C." (Phillips) Pennington, Hilham; two daughters, Betty Ruth Green and Barbara Ann Tharp, both of Hilham; a step-sister, Ila Lindsy, Cookeville; three brothers, Aaron Pennington, Cookeville, Amos Pennington, Detroit, MI, and Donald Pennington, Rickman; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Born December 3, 1944, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Emmitt and Omega Brown Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Kay Hoover; and a sister, Tina Perdue.
He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Annette Ledbetter, Livingston; a son, Shawn Ledbetter, Livingston; two brothers, Donnie Ledbetter, Alabama, and Danny Carl Ledbetter, Detroit, MI; and a sister, Geraldine Cannon, Livingston.

Born October 31, 1920, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late W.T. and Clara (Parker) Edens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Clem; a sister, Lucille Edens; and her second husband, Sam Ray.
She was a member of Martin's Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include her cousins.

Born May 18, 1908, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John C. (Bud) and Alice Franklin Geesling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Modenia Johnson, Della Barlow, and Sarah Bell Geesling; six brothers, Pete Geesling, Luther Geesling, Sammie Geesling, Perry Geesling, Walter Geesling, and Hershel Geesling.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ray, a logger, died Saturday, October 2, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born October 26, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Willard H. and Sisie (Hall) Ray.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josie D. (Seber) Ray; two sons, Thomas Ray Jr. and Bobby Ray; two brothers, Lawrence Ray and C.B. Ray; two sisters, Adeville Ramsey and Etta Ramsey; and two grandsons, Darrell Whited and Rick Whited.
Survivors include eight daughters, Joyce Sandifer, Cookeville, Shirley Smith, Jolene Ledbetter, Mechelle Ray, and Betty Davis, all of Allons, Helen Whited, Jamestown, Connie Gunnels, Anderson, IN, and Tommie Hensley, Nashville; a son, Dallas Ray, Nashville; two sisters, Inez Maynord, Gallatin, and Maggie Hummel, Livingston; a brother, Leonard H. Ray, Allons; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Marshall Swallows; two sisters, Linnie Bell Danner and Etta Jane Ledbetter; a great grandson, Jonathan Dixon; and a son-in-law, Doyce Dixon.
She was a member of Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bud Swallows and Kenneth Swallows, both of Livingston; three daughters, Velma Jean Bilbrey, Crossville, and Earlene Dixon and Sue Perdue, both of Livingston; a brother, J.B.
