Charles Edison "Pop" Glascock
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edison "Pop" Glascock, 70, of Waverly, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 1999, from the Waverly chapel of Luff Bowen Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Brown and Bro. Paul Darety officiating. Burial was in Richlawn cemetery with Luff Bowen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Glascock died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

Born February 24, 1929, in Livingston, he was the son of Homer Glascock of Livingston and the late Roxie Helen Johnson. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Dailey.

He was a member of Waverly Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Peacetime.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Mike Glascock, Waverly, and Randy Glascock, New Johnsonville; two daughters, Deborah Chance, New Johnsonville, and Kathy Hayes, Waverly; a sister, Joan Achor, California; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Sanford Marce Whited
Funeral services for Mr. Sanford Marce Whited, 76, of Baxter, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 1999, from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home with Bro. L.D. Anderson officiating. Burial was in Maynard cemetery in the Cherry Hill Community.

Mr. Whited, a retired employee of Strohs Brewery, died Thursday, September 30, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born November 9, 1922, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Sanford and Myrtle (Smith) Whited Gunter.

Survivors include his wife, Dortha Whited, Baxter; and a brother, Harce Whited, Toledo, OH.

Pallbearers were Billy Steele, Duane Rhea, Bobby Steele, Carl Steele, Darrel Rhea, and Alesha West.

Johnie L. Crabtree
Funeral services for Mr. Johnie L. Crabtree, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial with full military honors by the honor guard of James T. Davis V.F.W. Post 5062 was in Concord cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Crabtree, a retired Overton Co. Highway Dept. employee, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 17, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Tobe and Martha Ann Ray Crabtree.

He was a member of Livingston Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Odell Crabtree, Livingston; a daughter, Ruth Smith; four step-sons, Charlie Hix and Larry Hix, Whitleyville, Bobby Hix, Gainesboro; and Gary Hix, Hermitage Springs; six step-daughters, Helen Browning and Jewell Dean Carrico, both of Indianapolis, IN, Edna Sue Smith, Red Boiling Springs, Barbara Smith, Ashland City, Donna Poteet, Gainesboro, and Deborah Holman, Livingston; a sister, Dora Anderson, Hilham; and two grandchildren, Scotty Staggs and Edd Hammock.

Lucille Gibson
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Gibson, 71, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 24, 1999, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in Cookeville City cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gibson, a homemaker, died Wednesday, September 22, 1999, at her residence. Born April 9, 1928, in Stearns, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jeff and Flora Mae (Phillips) Stephens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Birchel Gibson; a son, Birchel David Gibson; and two sisters, Nobel Stephens and Juanita Dorey.

She was affiliated with the Full Gospel Church in Cookeville.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Phillips, Hilham; two sons, Charles Gibson, Youngstown, OH, and Jackie Fugate, Tampa, FL; two brothers, Beecher Stephens, Kendallville, IN, and Eugene Stephens, Covington, OH; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Charles Gibson, Robert B. Gibson, Perry Tharp, Josh Phillips, Andrew C. Gibson, Robert Ratcliff, and Jackie Fugate.

James Lee Ledbetter
Funeral services for Mr. James Lee Ledbetter, 42, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Dixon officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ledbetter, a body shop worker, died Wednesday, September 29, 1999, at Cumberland River Hospital North in Celina.

Born August 26, 1957, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Leonard S. and Emma Lucille Peek Ledbetter.

Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Dulworth, Celina, and Syble Kirby, Cookeville; four nephews; and a great niece.

Pallbearers were Jeff Robbins, Chris Reagan, Billy Dulworth, Tim Dulworth, Mike Raymond, and David Chaffins.

Lawrence E. Lampshire
Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence E. Lampshire, 82, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Haliburton and Rev. Ronald Whited officiating. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Lampshire, a machine repairman for Rockwell International Truck Industries, died Sunday, October 3, 1999, at Overton County Nursing Home.

Born November 28, 1916, in Hancock, MI, he was the son of the late Richard Edward and Lena Cowling Lampshire.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Lampshire, Livingston; a son, Richard Lampshire, St. Peter, MN; a daughter, Vickie Brown, Livingston; a sister, Violet Pallard, Michigan; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Lester Edker (Toot) Pennington
Funeral services for Mr. Lester Edker (Toot) Pennington, 77, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 1999, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Masters officiating. Burial was in Aarons Chapel cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Pennington, a woodworker, died Friday, September 24, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born April 29, 1922, in Clay County, he was the son of the late James and Annie (Spivey) Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe A. Pennington, Paul Pennington, George Pennington, Billy Pennington, and Chester Pennington; and a step-sister, Anna Geesling.

He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and American Legion, and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Ramey "M.C." (Phillips) Pennington, Hilham; two daughters, Betty Ruth Green and Barbara Ann Tharp, both of Hilham; a step-sister, Ila Lindsy, Cookeville; three brothers, Aaron Pennington, Cookeville, Amos Pennington, Detroit, MI, and Donald Pennington, Rickman; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chris Huddleston, Frank Pigg, Jeffrey Green, Mike Tharp, Michael Tharp, Jason Phillips, Bill Johnson, and Roy Geesling.

Frank Doy Ledbetter
Funeral services for Mr. Frank Doy Ledbetter, 54, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 1, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ledbetter, a factory worker for Wilson Sporting Goods, died Wednesday, September 29, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Hospital.

Born December 3, 1944, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Emmitt and Omega Brown Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Kay Hoover; and a sister, Tina Perdue.

He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Annette Ledbetter, Livingston; a son, Shawn Ledbetter, Livingston; two brothers, Donnie Ledbetter, Alabama, and Danny Carl Ledbetter, Detroit, MI; and a sister, Geraldine Cannon, Livingston.
Pallbearers were Shawn Ledbetter, Willie Hughes, Shannon Kinsler, Timmy Winningham, Brian White, Jeremy Swallows, Robert Kellar, and Tony Cannon.

Bonnie M. Ray
Graveside services for Mrs. Bonnie M. Ray, 78, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1999, from St. John's cemetery with Perry Clayton officiating. Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Ray, a homemaker, died Monday, September 27, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 31, 1920, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late W.T. and Clara (Parker) Edens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Clem; a sister, Lucille Edens; and her second husband, Sam Ray.

She was a member of Martin's Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include her cousins.

Velta Victoria Geesling
Funeral services for Mrs. Velta Victoria (Dude) Geesling, 91, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 1999, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Masters officiating. Burial was in Campground cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Geesling, a homemaker, died Thursday, September 30, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 18, 1908, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John C. (Bud) and Alice Franklin Geesling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Modenia Johnson, Della Barlow, and Sarah Bell Geesling; six brothers, Pete Geesling, Luther Geesling, Sammie Geesling, Perry Geesling, Walter Geesling, and Hershel Geesling.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Thomas (Tom) W. Ray Funeral
Services for Mr. Thomas (Tom) W. Ray, 83, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 1999, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Oval Tinch and Ron Harris officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ray, a logger, died Saturday, October 2, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born October 26, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Willard H. and Sisie (Hall) Ray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josie D. (Seber) Ray; two sons, Thomas Ray Jr. and Bobby Ray; two brothers, Lawrence Ray and C.B. Ray; two sisters, Adeville Ramsey and Etta Ramsey; and two grandsons, Darrell Whited and Rick Whited.

Survivors include eight daughters, Joyce Sandifer, Cookeville, Shirley Smith, Jolene Ledbetter, Mechelle Ray, and Betty Davis, all of Allons, Helen Whited, Jamestown, Connie Gunnels, Anderson, IN, and Tommie Hensley, Nashville; a son, Dallas Ray, Nashville; two sisters, Inez Maynord, Gallatin, and Maggie Hummel, Livingston; a brother, Leonard H. Ray, Allons; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and friends.

Pallbearers were Glen Carr, Mike Smith, Jeff Smith, Jason Hensley, Bill Davis, and Steven Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Gregory Conner, Bobby Davis, Teddy Gunnels, Michael Ray, Albert Maynord, and Dewayne Ray.

Hassie Ray Swallows
Funeral services for Mrs. Hassie Ray Swallows, 76, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 1999, from Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Harris Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Swallows, a housewife, died Wednesday, August 18, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born November 13, 1922, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Susie Elvissa McDonald Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Marshall Swallows; two sisters, Linnie Bell Danner and Etta Jane Ledbetter; a great grandson, Jonathan Dixon; and a son-in-law, Doyce Dixon.

She was a member of Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bud Swallows and Kenneth Swallows, both of Livingston; three daughters, Velma Jean Bilbrey, Crossville, and Earlene Dixon and Sue Perdue, both of Livingston; a brother, J.B. Eldridge, Kentucky; two sisters, Velma Lee Ledbetter, Livingston, and Myrtle Brown, Rickman; 12 grandchildren, Bruce Dixon, Wayne Dixon, Ronnie Dixon, Rick Dixon, Lee Swallows, John Ringley, Matthew Swallows, Diane Willis, Donna Breeding, Cynthia Sullivan, Susie Swallows, and Lora Ringley; and 12 great grandchildren, Stacy Dixon, Crystal Dixon, Amanda Dixon, Kim Dixon, Sara Murphy, LaKrisha Willis, Callie Swallows, Brian Dixon, Andrew Dixon, Willie Dewayne Dixon, Jacob Dixon, and Dylan Gore.

Pallbearers were Bruce Dixon, Ronnie Dixon, Rick Dixon, Lee Swallows, John Ringley, Matthew Swallows, Jason Sullivan, Jackie Willis, and Chris Breeding.
