Funeral services for Mr. James M. Swafford, age 92, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006, at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Glen Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Swafford was a native of Rutherford Co., TN, son of the late Morgan & Bessie Swafford, a minister, a member of the West Fayetteville Church of Christ, and he loved to golf and read the Bible. Along with his parents, Mr. Swafford was preceded in death by his wife: Idabel Swafford and 1 son: James Marion Swafford. Survivors include 3 daughters: Barbara Poulston of Richmond, VA, Donna Cook of Richmond, VA, Cynthia Roach of Petersburg, TN; 1 son: John Swafford of Hilton Head Island, SC; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Glyn Doyle Beard, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Glyn Doyle Beard, Jr., age 49, of Shelbyville, TN, who passed away Monday, July 3, 2006, at the Harton Hospital, will be conducted Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Pafford officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Mr. Beard was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of Willodean Beard-Shields & the late Glyn Doyle Beard, Sr. He was a carpenter and graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1975. He is survived by 1 son: Richard Kyle Beard of Shelbyville, TN; 1 step-son: Destin Vetec of Shelbyville, TN; mother: Willodean Beard-Shields of Shelbyville, TN; 1 sister: Terri Dale Beard-Self of Fayetteville, TN and 4 brothers: Tommy Beard of Huntsville, AL, Charles Beard, Carey Beard both of Battle Creek, MI and Tony Beard of Shelbyville, TN. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert 'Hubert' Parkerson

Funeral services for Mr. Robert 'Hubert' Parkerson, age 82, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, July 3, 2006, at his residence, will be conducted Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Don Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Parkerson was a native of Huntsville, AL, son of the late Herschel Thomas Parkerson & the late Melery Jane Ross Parkerson, a farmer, a member of the Park City Baptist Church, and an Army veteran. Along with his parents, Mr. Parkerson was preceded in death by 1 son: Thomas Parkerson. Survivors include his wife: Annie Ruth Parkerson of Fayetteville, TN; 4 daughters: Martha Denton, Judy & Glen Davis, Jan & Don Bentley all of Fayetteville, TN, Teresa & Steve Smith of Madison, AL; 1 son: Bob & Diana Parkerson of Fayetteville, TN; 1 daughter-in-law: Peggy Parkerson; 2 sisters: Vennie Mae Cook, Louise Boldin both of Elora, TN; 1 brother: VAnce Parkerson of Columbus, OH; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mildred Irene Burns

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Irene Burns, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Lynchburg Nursing Center, will be conducted Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Billions officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Mrs. Burns was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late Edd & Minnie Moore Laws, a retired seamstress and a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 daughters: Sherry Corder of Fayetteville, TN, Janice Faulkner of Lynchburg, TN; 2 sons: Larry Burns & John Burns both of Lynchburg, TN; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wanda Bonner

Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Bonner, age 57, of Kelso, TN, who passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at her residence, will be conducted Friday, July 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Bonner was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late Ambrose Denton Hale & the late Mary Nola Seals Hale, a clerk at Save-A-Lot and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband: Harold Bonner of Kelso, TN; 3 daughters: Jessica & Larry Brooks of Fayetteville, TN, Stephanie Posey & Tony Haines of Lewisburg, TN, Tharon French of Elora, TN; 1 son: Tim Posey of Kelso, TN; 2 grandchildren: McKenzie French, Garrett Brooks; 1 sister: Doris Seay of New Hope, AL; 2 brothers: John H. & Ruth Hale of Hazel Green, AL, Bobby & Evalyne Hale of Shelbyville, TN; 2 sisters-in-law: Connie Brock & Lee Brandon and 1 brother-in-law: J.C. Bonner. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Melba Ruth Bevers

Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Ruth Bevers, age 64, of Petersburg, TN, who passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the NHC Nursing Home in Lewisburg, TN, will be conducted Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. James Burrow officiating. Burial will follow in Wright Cemetery. Mrs. Bevers was a native of Marshall Co., TN, daughter of the late James Wilburn Williams & the late Mary Elizabeth Marsh Williams, a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband: Glenn Bevers; step-mother: Georgia Williams; 1 sister: Reba Bevers all of Petersburg, TN and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Myra Wright

Funeral services for Mrs. Myra Wright, age 93, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006 in the Donalson Care Center, will be conducted Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Wright was a native of Blount Co., AL, daughter of the late John P. & Charlsie Woodruff Groover, a housewife and a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son: Ted Wright & wife: Peggy of Fayetteville, TN, 2 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

He was a member of the Prosperity ARP Church. Survivors include 3 daughters: Abigail Syler, Katherine Prince both of Flintville, TN, Niki Pitcock of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: Danny Prince of Petersburg, TN, Benjamin Prince of Huntland, TN; 5 sisters: Brenda Gifford of Flintville, TN, Gaynell Carter of Petersburg, TN, Virginia Lamb of Fayetteville, TN, Jeanette Dickerson of  West Virginia & Carol Phillips of Fayetteville, TN; 2 brothers: Teddy Arnold of Flintville, TN, Houston Arnold of Fayetteville, TN and several grandchildren. Mr. Pitcock was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, adopted son of the late J.M. & Wanda Pitcock and a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his father & step-mother: Danny & Jamie Prince of Petersburg, TN; 3 sisters: Niki Pitcock of Fayetteville, TN, Lanessa Prince of Alabama & Augusta Prince of Fayetteville, TN and 1 step-brother: Matthew Wayne Corley of Petersburg, TN. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce McGee Gray, age 79, of Lynchburg, TN, who passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Gray was a native of Moore Co., TN, daughter of the late Buford Alexander & Cora Noles McGee, an insurance secretary for Farm Bureau and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband: Homer Lewis 'Buck' Gray and a granddaughter: Lori Lea Baker. Survivors include 1 daughter: Alexa & Vernon Baker of Lynchburg, TN; 2 granddaughters: Benita Kay Baker Moyers of Fayetteville, TN, Bonnie Lynn Baker Boyett of Lynchburg, TN and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
