Marguerite Rusbridge
Marguerite M. Rusbridge of Hixson died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 81.

She was a native and longtime resident of the Chattanooga area.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Keener Hixson; one brother, Francis Miller, New Mexico; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Ida Rush
Services for Ida Walker Rush were to be today at 1 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall Roberson, the Rev. William Colter and the Rev. Stan Holder officiating.

Burial was to be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Mrs. Rush died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in a local health care facility. She was 78.

She was a member of North Chattanooga Church of God, the widow of Harry Rush and the sister of the late Edward D. Walker.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy R. Delaney, and Louise Rush, Ringgold, Ga., and Mary Carlisle, Soddy-Daisy; one son, Doyle Walker, Fort Oglethorpe; three sisters, Louise Walker, Hixson, Pauline Greene, Red Bank, and Wannie Brown, Daytona Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Samuel Russell
ATHENS, Tenn. - Samuel L. Russell died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, in an area hospital. He was 85.

Funeral services were to be held today at 2 p.m. at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, with the Rev. Donnie Dawson officiating.

Burial was to be in the McMahan Calvary cemetery.

Vera Russell
SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Mrs. Vera Turney Russell of Round Rock, Tex., formerly of Richard City, Tenn., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at a local nursing home. She was 90.

The Marion County, Tenn., native was a daughter of the late Peter and Louise Smith Turney.

She was a former First Baptist Church of Richard City member.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Russell; and two sons, Elmer and Daniel Russell.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo Bryant, Round Rock, Betty Van Norman, New Orleans; two sons, Glenn Russell, Las Cruces, N.M., Raymond Russell, Austin, Tex.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be announced by Rogers Funeral Home.

Dr. Maurice S. Goldman
ATHENS, Tenn. - Dr. Maurice Samuel Goldman Jr., former chief of cardiology and director of respiratory care and critical care units at Cleveland Community Hospital, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in an area hospital. He was 65.

Dr. Goldman was a practicing physician in Cleveland for 17 years before his retirement. He was a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a former member of the Tennessee Medical Association and Bradley County Medical Society.

He was a native of New Orleans and a graduate of Emory University. He received his medical degree from Emory School of Medicine.

Dr. Goldman served in the Air Force and attained the rank of captain. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Moses Goldman; eight daughters, Susan Eve Slade, Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Sarah Elizabeth Newton and Mary Lee Goldman, both of Palm Springs, Calif., Michelle Lynn Davis, Cleveland, Sharon Lee Womac, Athens, Tenn., Felicia and Anna Marie Goldman, both of Chattanooga; and Chrissie Goldman, California; four sons, Maurice S. Goldman III, Palm Springs, Jimmy Goldman, Cleveland, David N. Goldman, Chattanooga, and Chuck Jones, Athens; two sisters, Louise Long, Demopolis, Ala., and Lee Smart, Memphis; a brother, Charles Goldman, Nashville; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Jerry Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Ashley Calhoun officiating.

Burial will be in McMinn Memory Gardens with military honors.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jimmy Rutledge
Jimmy Rutledge died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 59.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and former employee of Grace Chemicals and a member of Avondale Church of Christ.

He as preceded in death by his parents Annie B. and James Rutledge Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Rutledge; son, Otis Rutledge, Chattanooga; daughters, Glenda Ann Lane, Veronica Williams, Robin Christopher and Cynthia Christopher all of Chattanooga and Denise Strickland, Atlanta; seven grandchildren; brothers, Samuel T. Rutledge, William E. Rutledge, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Napoleon B., Fredrick and Robert L. Rutledge, all of Chattanooga.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Avondale Church of Christ with brother Phillip Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home, and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family will assemble at 2108 Foust Street.

Mildred Sanders
TRACY CITY, Tenn. - Mildred Sanders died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at her home. She was 75.

She was the widow of Arthur L. Sanders.

Survivors include five sons, David W. Sanders, Palmer, Tenn., Carl W. Sanders, Coalmont, Tenn., and Joseph L. and Gary D. Sanders, both of Tracy City; seven daughters, Annie Frances Tate, McMinnville, Tenn., Elizabeth Jane Nunley, Bertha Mae Sanders, Sue Meeks, Barbara Jean Campbell and Rebecca Loretta Green, all of Tracy City, and Shirley Marie Lawson, Chattanooga; two brothers, Walter Morgan, Signal Mountain, and Roy Morgan, Miami, Fla.; three sisters, Edna Nunley, Monteagle, Tenn., and Lettie Myers and Mabel Myer, both of Coalmont; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home in Tracy City, with the Rev. Rick Hawkins and the Rev. Barry Nolan officiating.

Burial will be in the Coalmont cemetery.

The family will receive friends after noon today at the funeral home.

Wrenn Sanders
MONTEAGLE, Tenn. - Mrs. Wrenn Carlene Wallace Sanders died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998. She was 83.

She was a member of Monteagle Church of Christ and the widow of J. Herman Sanders.

Survivors include a son, Jim Sanders, Monteagle; daughter, Dottie Sanders, Memphis; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, with Brother Paul Tittle officiating.

Burial will be in Monteagle cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Monteagle Church of Christ, 416 W. Main St., Monteagle, TN, 37356, or Monteagle cemetery Association, Route 1, Box 1104, Monteagle, TN 37356.

Visitation will be today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bessie Satterwhite
Bessie Satterwhite died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 83.

Survivors include her husband, George Satterwhite Sr.; one daughter, Joyce Satterwhite; one son, George Satterwhite Jr.; one stepdaughter, Wanda Hardy; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. N.O. Jennings officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The family will assemble at 1301 Tunnel Blvd.

Visitation will be after noon today at the funeral home.

Ruth Saunders
Ruth S. Saunders died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998. She was 79.

A native of Morgan County, Ala., she was retired from Malone Freight Lines in Salem, Va., as office manager.

She attended the East Ridge United Methodist Church and was the widow of Frank Saunders.

Survivors include one sister, Betty Kadatz, Byron, Ill.; and two brothers, Sam and George Skillington, both of Chattanooga.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home, Chattanooga, with the Rev. Tom Tucker and the Rev. Ray Hargraves officiating.

Burial will follow in Anderson cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Lois Scales
Lois Nila Yates, formerly of Chattanooga, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, in Beltsville, Md.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church, Takoma Park, Md.

Marshall's Funeral Home in Suitland, Md., is in charge of arrangements.

Local arrangements are by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.
