Henry Rhear
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Henry Eugene Rhear of Grandview, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998. He was 63.

Arrangements will be announced by Vaughn Funeral Home.

Margaret Richmond
MONTEAGLE, Tenn. - Margaret L. Thomas 'Minnie' Richmond died here on Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998. She was 78.

Mrs. Richmond was the mother of the late Judith and William Richmond.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn H. Richmond; a daughter, Fayrene Massey; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were to be held today at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel at Phillips Robinson Co., Hendersonville, Tenn.

Burial was to be at 2 p.m. in Monteagle cemetery.

Local arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle.

Samuel Riddell
Samuel Riddell of Ooltewah died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 86.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock and the Rev. Bud Mathis officiating.

Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lettie Ridley
JASPER, Tenn. - Lettie Jo Hughes Ridley, who with her husband, Marion Talley Ridley, owned and operated Ridley's Restaurant for 33 years, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 67.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper. and the sister of the late Esther Hughes, and Gene, Burton and Burrell Hughes.

Survivors other than her husband include a daughter, Sherry Ridley, Chattanooga; four sons, Gene Ridley, Cleveland, Tenn., Lamar Ridley, Chattanooga, Gregg Ridley, Pikeville, Tenn., and Bobby Ridley, Jasper; one sister, Edna Hughes White, Chattanooga; one brother, John Hughes, Jasper; 11 grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Medley and Dr. George Wampler officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund, Shriner's Hospital, or the March of Dimes.

Gladys Riggs
Gladys Y. Riggs died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 85.

A native of Kentucky, she was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, the widow of Henry B. Riggs, and the mother of the late Betty Klaasse and Kenneth Riggs.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas and Carl Riggs, both of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Mildred Smith, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Greenwood cemetery, with the Rev. Harold Nicholas officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home.

James Rigsby Sr.
James Raymond Rigsby Sr., who was chairman of the board of directors for Acheson Foundry and Machine Works since 1970, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998. He was 80.

He retired as district sales manager for General Foods after 28 years.

A native of Dunlap, Tenn., he had resided in Florida for 43 years before returning to Chattanooga.

A graduate of Chattanooga High, he was a veteran of World War II. He had received two Bronze Stars for service in the U.S. Army's 79th Infantry Division in the European Campaign.

He was a member and deacon at Holiday Hills Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Acheson Rigsby.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Rigsby Putnam, Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, James R. Rigsby Jr., Soddy-Daisy, H. Terry Rigsby, Powells Crossroads, Ala., and Randy A. Rigsby, Signal Mountain; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home, Chattanooga, with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holiday Hills Baptist Church, 730 Mandalay Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.

Inez McDonald
Inez McDonald died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, in a local hospital.

She was the widow of George McDonald.

Survivors include two sisters, Ester Montgomery, Talladega, Ala., Lula Mae Sumlin, San Antonio, Texas; brother, Jack Beal, Chattanooga.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Floral Hill cemetery.

The body will be at the funeral home after noon today.

Emma Mae McGill
Emma Mae Parks McGill of McDonald, Tenn., died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at her home. She was 78.

Funeral services were to be held today at 4 p.m. at the Fike Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tenn., with the Rev. Jimmy Simmons and other ministers officiating.

Burial was to be in the Lee cemetery in McDonald.

Martha McGuire
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Martha McGuire died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 89.

Arrangements will be announced by the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home.

Henry McKenzie
DECATUR, Tenn. - Henry Scott McKenzie died here on Monday, Feb. 9, 1998. He was 42.

A 1974 graduate of Meigs County High School, he had served in the U.S. Army and was a former employee of the Meigs County Highway Department.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a son of the late James F. and Nevada Howard McKenzie.

Survivors include two daughters, Sarah and Karen McKenzie, both of Decatur; two brothers, Randy McKenzie, Decatur, and Fred Bender, Oliver Springs, Tenn.; and two sisters, Brenda Suttles, Knoxville, and Frances Hairrel, North Carolina.

Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens, Tenn., with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in McKenzie Family cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Winburn McLaughen
Winburn E. McLaughen died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at his home. He was 83.

A native of Chattanooga, he was the father of the late Larry Eugene McLaughen.

He was retired from TVA and was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Torbert McLaughen; one daughter, Nancy Luther; one son, Jim McLaughen; one sister, Frances White, all of Chattanooga; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Tyner United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold Ray and other ministers officiating.

Burial will be in the Chattanooga National cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Chattanooga, 165 Hamm Road, Chattanooga, TN, 37405.

Ray McMeen
Ray McMeen died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 71.

Arrangements will be announced by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Meyers
Elizabeth Meyers died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at a local nursing home. She was 90.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was the widow of W. Roy Meyers.

Survivors include her two nephews, James K. 'Buddy' Werner Jr. and Archie Meyers.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Forest Hills cemetery with the Rev. Hunter Huckabay officiating.

Arrangements are by the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
