Martha Naylor
Martha Naylor died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, in a local nursing home. She was 83.

She was a member of New Emmanuel Baptist Church and Club No. 5.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Naylor Sr.; mother, Fannie Cook; and two brothers, Jimmy Naylor Jr. and David Naylor Sr.

Survivors include one sister, Peggy Ann Russell, Chattanooga.

Services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at New Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Gertrude Neal
DAYTON, Tenn. - Gertrude Neal died today, Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 88.

Arrangements will be announced by Vanderwall Funeral Home, Dayton.

Johnnie Neal
Johnnie Howard Neal died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 90.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Northside Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Lawrence L. Schenk officiating.

Burial will be in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Northside Presbyterian Church, 923 Mississippi Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37405.

John Newson
John 'Skeet' Newson Jr. died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 87.

He was a Rose of Sharon Baptist Church member. He was retired from Harriman Manufacturing Co. and was a longtime employee of Buchanan Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by two sons.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Newson; a son, Frank Newson; three daughters, Jackie Carter, Atlanta, Vickie Mansion and Jacelyn Bush, both of Chattanooga; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Walton officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Donald Nisbet
Donald Charles Nisbet of Harrison, owner and president of UNpressure, Inc., died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, at his home. He was 53.

Arrangements will be announced by the South Crest Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home.

Roy Nunley
Roy Nunley died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 77.

Survivors include six sons, Edward Nunley, Chattanooga, Cicil Nunley, Dunlap, Tenn., Allen Nunley, Whitwell, Tenn., Michael Nichols, Florida, Donald Nichols, Georgia, and Robert Nichols, Athens, Tenn.; three daughters, June Reed, Whitwell, Peggy Brown, Niota, Tenn., and Creva Morrison, Palmer, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. CST at Hooper Funeral Home in Whitwell, with the Rev. Ronnie Grooms and the Rev. Jackson officiating.

Burial will be in Sequatchie Memorial Gardens in Dunlap.

The family will receive friends today after 4 p.m. CST at the funeral home.

Allie O'Daniel
ATHENS, Tenn. - Allie Ann Witt O'Daniel died Tuesday, Feb. 10l 1998. She was 79.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a member of Athens United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Keller, Athens; two sisters, Elizabeth Page, North Carolina, and Nellie Woods, Atlanta; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Smith and the Rev. Herbert Smith officiating.

Burial will be in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Della Odum
ATHENS, Tenn. - Della Marie Pardue Odum died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in a Maryville, Tenn., hospital. She was 82.

A native of Athens, she was a member of Peakland Baptist Church.

She was the mother of the late Ricky Odum.

Survivors include her husband, Jarvis 'Jabo' Odum; three daughters, Linda Spain, Athens, Juanita Spain, Niles, Mich., Nancy Holloman, Seiverville, Tenn.; one son, J.E. 'Sonny' Odum, Athens; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Fritts officiating.

Burial will follow in Sullins cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Odean Overturf
Odean Stevenson Overturf died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998.

The longtime Hamilton County resident was the widow of Raymond G. Overturf, and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Sissy Coffman, Chattanooga; three sons, Spencer Overturf, Rossville, Ga., Dewey Overturf, Freeport, Fla., and Charles Overturf, Roy, Wash.; two brothers, Grady and Luke Stevenson, both of Rockford, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.

The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home with the Rev. F.B. Dawn officiating.

Burial will be in Harrison cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ida Owen
Ida Evelyn Owen of Harrison, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 81.

She was the widow of Gartrel C. Owen Sr.

Survivors include a son, Gartrel C. Owen Jr., Harrison; a daughter, Peggy Y. James, Chattanooga; three sisters, Grace York, Sand Mountain, Ga., Viola Keith, Tiftonia, and Ernie Bennefield, Fort Payne, Ala.; one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mel Crosson officiating.

Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Annie Page
Annie R. Page died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 74.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

William Page
William Edward Page died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 49.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Page.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Elaine Page; daughter, Tara K. Page, Chattanooga; and mother, Sue Page Mosher.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Lea Clower officiating.

Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dennis Park
Dennis L. Park of Soddy-Daisy, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 79.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Soddy Community Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Kruzman officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Soddy Community Chapel Building Fund.
