James Gibson
James Raymond Gibson died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 55.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was a Baptist and was the son of the late James Hoyt Gibson and Virginia E. Aycock Gibson Eubanks.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Gibson, Ringgold, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements will be announced by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, where the family will receive friends today after 7 p.m.
Marion Gilliam
Marion Clinton Gilliam died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in a local hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Susie Gilreath
Susie A. Gilreath of Rossville died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 58.
A native of Athens, Tenn.; she was a daughter of the late Marvin Everett and Eva Harrison and a member of St. Gerards Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harley E. Gilreath; three daughters, Lisa L. Anderson, Chickamauga, Ga., Kymberly Davis, Chattanooga, and Sandra Carney, LaFayette, Ga.; three sons, Richard T. Gilreath, Memphis, Tenn., Dean Miller, Rossville, and Larry Gilreath, LaFayette; grandmother, Mary Harrison, and sister, Margaret Brown, both of Athens; brother, L.B. Everett, Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren; and great-grandchild.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with minister Timothy M. Hepburn officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ann Gleis
Ann Gleis died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in a Winchester, Tenn., hospital. She was 91.
Services and buria will be in Hamilton, Ohio.
Local arrangements are by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
Robert Glover
Robert Bishop Glover died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 87.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Akins officiating.
Burial will follow in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Alva Goebel
Alva Maurice Goebel died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in a local nursing home. He was 71.
A native of Rhodhiss, N.C., he had lived in Chattanoogafor the past 30 years and was retired from DuPont after 35 years.
He was a Baptist, and the father of the late Norma Jean Goebel.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Games and Karen Bull, both of Hixson; mother, Jennie E. Goebel, Chattanooga; one sister, Ruth Spatola, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and a brother, Grayson T. Goebel, Dayton, Tenn.
Services will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Shellabarger officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ATHENS, Tenn. - James Wesley Goins died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 72.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. W. H. Ferguson officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Sulllins cemetery.
Bessie Goolsby
Bessie Goolsby of Camarillo, Calif., died in a hospital there Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998. She was 84.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of the Turner Funeral Home, with her grandson Mark McDowell officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virgil Gray
Virgil 'Junior' Gray of Harrison, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, in an area hospital. He was 32.
Survivors include one son, Virgil 'Trip' Gray III of Harrison; his mother, Iva Gray of Harrison; his father, Virgil Gray Sr. of Harrison; three brothers, Dannie Gray of Chattanooga, and Randall and Eddie Gray, both of Harrison; and two sisters, Debra Wood and Linda Davis, both of Harrison.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lakeway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jesse Nolan officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bald Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends today after 12 p.m. at the Webb Road Chapel of the Turner Funeral Homes.

Rachel R. Bing Greene died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in a local hospital.

Funeral and burial will be in Austin on Saturday.

T.C. Gribble
Thomas C. Gribble died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, at his home. He was 74.
He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, East Lake Lodge No. 698 F&AM; and the Scottish Rite.
He was the father of the late Donald L. Gribble and was preceded in death by a grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Louise C. Gribble; two daughters, Glenda L. Osborn, Ormond Beach, Fla., and Juanita G. Stone, Chattanooga; son, Thomas C. Gribble Jr., Demorest, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; five sisters, Ann Owen, Pauline Cross and Betty Hicks, all of Rossville, Ga., Doris Young, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Judy Thompson, Chattanooga; and two brothers, Joe Gribble, Rossville, and Harold Gribble, Chattanooga.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Dean officiating.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Vivian Griffin
Vivian Griffin died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in a local hospital.

William Griffith
William F. Griffith died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at his home. He was 75.
The lifelong Chattanooga area resident was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a 40-year National Guard veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Winifred Barnes Griffith; a daughter, Ann Parker; two sons, William and Bart Griffith, all of Chattanooga; a brother, Raymond Griffith, Chattanooga; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Elizabeth Guess
Elizabeth Guess of Copperas Cove, Texas, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, in a Texas health-care facility. She was 63.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Crawford-Bowers Chapel in Copperas Cove, Texas, with Pastor Kirby Lack officiating.
The family will receive friends today at the funeral home in Texas.
Louise Guinn
DUCKTOWN, Tenn. - Mrs. Louise Belk Guinn died recently. She was 96.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Abraham Jasper Guinn.
She was a member of Ducktown United Methodist Church.
She had received her bachelor's degree from Carson-Newman in 1923 and her M.A. degree from Columbia in 1929.
Mrs. Guinn taught for 32 years in the Polk County School System, four years in the Campbell County School System; and one year in the Unicoi School System.
She was a member of the Tennessee Retired Teachers Association and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her niece, Edna Earle Whaley, Marietta, Ga.; nephews, Charley Coffey, Johnny Coffey, Daniel Coffey, Billy Coffey and Todd Belk Carlson; stepson, Max Guinn, Knoxville; two stepdaughters, Mary Jane Guinn Garcia, Knoxville, and Lorine Guinn Ahee, Torrana, Calif.; 17 stepgrandchildren; and other relatives.
Graveside services will be today, Feb. 15, 1998, at the Zion Hill cemetery in Turtletown, Tenn.
The family will receive friends at Finch Funeral Home, McCaysville, Ga., today from 2 to 4 p.m.
