Funeral services for James L. Poarch, age 81, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006, in the Lincoln Skill Care Center, will be conducted Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 2:00 pm graveside in Pigg Cemetery with Danny Gentry officiating and the Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Poarch was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Levi Garland Poarch and the late Mildred Ellen Chapman Poarch. He was retired License Practical Nurse, a veteran of the Navy, and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife : Morrell Barnes Poarch of Fayetteville, TN; daughters: Ellen Flynn, Carol Fuller both of Fayetteville, TN; sons: Brian Lee Poarch of Manchester, GA. and Mark Lynn Poarch of Blue Ridge, GA. stepmother: Ethel Holley of Fayetteville, TN; sisters Cleta Jean Sheehan of Murfreesboro, TN, Janice Gentry of Fayetteville,TN, Linda Sparks of Huntsville AL; brothers: Bill and Charlie Poarch both of Fayetteville, TN, 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.Visitation with family will be Wednesday from 11am until 1pm at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Shirley Thomas Metcalf

Funeral services for Mr. Shirley Thomas Metcalf, age 78, of Petersburg, TN, who passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Baptist Hospital, will be conducted Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Mr. Metcalf was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Shirley Blackmon Metcalf and the late Ora Louise Chisom Metcalf. He was a radiator recapper for Elbert Landers. Along with his parents, Mr. Metcalf was preceded in death by 1 grandson: Jay Dee Longshore. Survivors include his wife: Gladys Marie Whitsett Metcalf of Petersburg, TN; daughters: Jean Longshore of Shelbyville, TN, Kathy Pitzpatrick of Lewisburg, TN; sons: Tommy Metcalf of Petersburg, TN, Shirley P. Metcalf of Lewisburg, TN, Jackie Metcalf, Don Metcalf both of Petersburg, TN, Jimmy Metcalf of Pulaski, TN; sister: Virginia McCarty of Petersburg, TN; borther: James Robert Metcalf of Athens, MI; 28 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Mr. Floyd Jackson Williams

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Jackson Williams, age 91, of Taft, TN, who passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 at his residence, will be conducted Sunday, October 15,2006 at 2:00 p.m. graveside in Prosperity Cemetery with Bro. Sonny Moore officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Williams is survived by 7 daughters: Margaret Gulley of Kelso, Patsy Shipp of Flintville, Diane Wright of Taft, Geraldine Lovell & Janice Riggins both of Fayetteville, Paula Simmons of Mulberry, Vickie Wooten of Taft; 1 son: Bobby Williams of Taft; 1 brother: Gentry Williams of Taft; 1 sister: Irene Morris of Toney, AL; 25 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Mr. Ray Gardner

Funeral services for Mr. Ray Gardner, age 59, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, October 14, 2006 at his residence, will be conducted Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Mayo officiating. Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery. Mr. Gardner was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Noel Willard & Lucille Street Gardner, owner/operator of Ray Gardner Auto & Truck Repair & Sales and a member of Victory Chapel Church. He is survived by his wife: Dot Gardner; daughter: Tina Michelle Williams; son: Teddy Ray Gardner; 3 grandchildren: Joshua Ray Gardner, Brittany Michelle Williams, Baylea Grave Gardner all of Fayetteville, TN; 1 sister: Josephine Dilworth of Fayetteville, TN; 3 brothers: Eugene Gardner of Elkmont, AL, Larry Gardner, Sandy Gardner both of Fayetteville, TN. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Woody Hix

Funeral services for Mr. Woody Hix, age 85, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. James Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Moore County. Mr. Hix was a native of Moore Co., TN, son of the late David Martin Hix and the late Rosa Ann Edgeman Hix. He was a musician and self employed in the pawn shop business. He was a WWII Marine veteran, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2167 and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Sheila Hayes Hix of Fayetteville, TN; 2 grandchildren: Tye Edward Hix, Misty Hix; 1 sister: Roberta Hayes of Fayetteville, TN and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Poole

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Ann Poole, age 71, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006 at the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Monday, October 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bill Ivey officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. Mrs. Poole was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late James Thurston & Jewel Hazelwood English, a seamstress for Lincoln Manufacturing and a member of the Camargo Church of Christ. Along with her parents, Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her husband: Nolen Poole and 1 daughter: Mary Beth Poole. Survivors include 2 daughters: Linda Dye of Crystal Beach, TX, Donna Shae Miles of Port Bolivar, TX; 2 sons: Jerry Poole of Fayetteville, TN, Allen Poole of Nashville, TN; 1 brother: Jimmy English of Fayetteville, TN; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Freddie Hickerson

Funeral services for Mrs. Freddie Hickerson, age 76, of Elora, TN, who passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at her residence, will be conducted Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Cleo Moon officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Hickerson was a native of Madison Co., AL, daughter of the late Fred & Grace Mitchell Brosemer, a sales clerk and a member of the Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Hickerson was preceded in death by 1 brother: Jesse 'Junior' Reed. Survivors include her husband: Alton Hickerson of Elora, TN; daughters: Mary & Richard Willhite of Huntsville, AL, Barbara & James Self of Fayetteville, TN, Teresa & Cleo Moon of Flintville, TN; 1 son: John Hickerson of Elora, TN; sisters: Betty Beckman of New Market, AL, Jane Brooks of Huntsville, AL; brother: Frank Brosemer of  Pennsylvania; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Harley Rankin

Funeral services for Mr. Harley Rankin, age 76, of Cornersville, TN, who passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Maury County Hospital, will be conducted Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Elder Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in North Cut Cove Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Mr. Rankin was a native of Laager, TN, son of the late Clarence Redous & Ora Smartt Rankin, a truck driver, a Navy veteran and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Along with his parents, Mr. Rankin was preceded in death by 1 son: Gregory Elwood Rankin. Survivors include his wife: Ethylene Braden Rankin of Cornersville, TN; daughters: Yvonne Stublefield of Frankewing, TN, Jeanette Rankin of Petersburg, TN; sons: Dennis Victor Rankin, John Reed Rankin both of Cornersville, TN; sister: Juanita Jenson of Ocean Side, CA; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Jimmy 'Bobo' Williams

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy 'Bobo' Williams, age 75, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, October 30, 2006 at the St. Thomas Hospital, will be conducted Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Crabtree and Richard Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Williams was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late James Buford 'Boots' Williams & the late Mable T. West Williams. He was a retired truck driver, a Navy veteran and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Along with his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by 1 son: James 'Boo' Williams. Survivors include his wife: Juanita Hill Williams; daughters: Sheree & Floyd Hill, Phyllis 'Runt' & Terry Gentry; son: Jacky & Lisa Williams; step-daughter: Denise Thompson; step-sons; Dwight & Tammy Pamplin, Greg Pamplin all of Fayetteville, TN; sisters: Peggy Cook of Fayetteville, TN, Jeanette Adkins of Huntsville, AL; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruby Reid Currey

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Reid Currey, age 88, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Donalson Care Center, will be conducted Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Langford officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Currey was a native of Princeton, AL, daughter of the late William A. & Etta Reeves Reid. She was a seamstress, a dietician at the Lincoln County Hospital, a member of the Flintville Baptist Church, an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she volunteered at local schools, was a house mother at the Skills Development Center and was very active in schools and church. She is survived by 1 son: Fred M. Currey, Jr. of Flintville, TN; 1 daughter: Jean & Clyde Womack of Nashville, TN; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
