Juanita Alexander
Juanita Knox Alexander died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at her home. She was 64.

She was retired from Caldsted Manor Nursing Home and was a member of Greater Park City Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Franchott Alexander, Chattanooga, Rodney Alexander, Chickamauga, and David Alexander, Kensington, Ga.; a brother, Benjamin H. Knox, Chattanooga; sister, Dorothy Mae Stroude, Chattanooga; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Greater Park City Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Hewlett officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Henry Baker
Henry Judson Baker of Harrison died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 74.

Mr. Baker had retired from Lone Star Ford in Houston as an auto technician. He was a member of the Assembly of God of Spring, Texas, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Bettye Baker, Harrison; two sons, Raymond and Calvin L. Baker, both of Houston; four daughters, Linda Callahan, Pisgah, Ala., Mary Jane Best, Scottsboro, Ala., Lois Fay Hollowell and Joyce May Baker, both of Houston; seven brothers, Bill Baker, Hixson, Leroy Baker, Dongola, Ill., Robert Baker, Bridgeport, Ala., Johnny Baker, Scottsboro, Ala., Alvin Baker, Huntsville, Ala., Charlie Baker, Cleveland, Texas, and James Baker; two sisters, Ruby Henegar, Stevenson, Ala., and Betty Ruth McDaniel, Sealy, Texas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at noon at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Aaron Mitchell Brashear died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at his home. He was 54.

Memorial services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Alton Burke
Alton Farley Burke died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 59.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Emma Carter
Emma Elizabeth Carter died Monday, May 3, 1999, in a local health care facility.

Services will be today at 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Richard Blalock and the Rev. Gatus Cheatham officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Phyllis Dodd
Phyllis Gayle Dodd of Ooltewah died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in a local hospital.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Highway 58, with the Rev. Billy Dean officiating.

Burial will be at Bartlebaugh cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

M.C. Eddings
M.C. Eddings died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 78.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Boyd Edging
Boyd Rutledge Edging, a former Chattanooga News-Free Press copy editor and a United States Navy pilot, died Monday, May 3, 1999, in a local hospital.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Miller and the Rev. Harold Ray officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Histiocytosis Association of America, 302 N. Broadway, Pitman, NJ 08071.

Syrilda Fine
Syrilda L. Fine died Monday, May 3, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 96.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Neighbors officiating.

Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Dorothy Giacomozzi
Dorothy Giacomozzi of Apison died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at her home. She was 70.

Arrangements will be announced by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Ann Heinatz
N. Ann Heinatz of Red Bank died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 75.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, with the Rev. Mike Hubble and the Rev. Harold Buck officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Marylee Helmericks
Marylee W. Helmericks of East Brainerd died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 74.

She had lived in Chattanooga for the past six years, having moved from Atlanta. She was a member of Westview Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph E. Helmericks; a son, Steve Helmericks, Harrison; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. James Patterson officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westview Presbyterian Church.
